Keep up the good work and hope you do the others you want even taking into account your foot pain.

thanks sue. :sunshine: It was a lot of things to think about! I actually don't mind working out in heat that much as long as i can stay hydrated. I often will take a cold shower beforehand too before i workout in the heat. But i am at risk for heat stroke or whatever as a side effect of medication too so i do have to be a bit careful with it. What was great was at the end of that first ride where it was really hot they had a kid's playground with water sprinkler stuff. So i stood there all hot and was able to enjoy cold water on me and get soaked. loved it.

goal actually is to do the panama city ironman not this year but next year. It's always been a dream of mine but of course it's a long ways away and a lot can happen during that time. I would have to lose weight and stay injury free. i still struggle with mental health problems too. I'm just trying to ignore them. :funny: . The panama city ironman is known for being an easier ironman if you want to call an ironman easy. the majority of people that do it the ironman is their first one. It's held in early November. The swim is the hardest part at this ironman because there are strong waves and sometimes riptides. I think it's like 2.4 mile swim. i know nothing about swimming in strong waves or riptides. Except for waves you dive into the bottom of the wave and for riptides you swim parrallel to the shore. The bike is the easiest because it's totally flat. It's 112 mile bike ride. The run also is flat but since i've had foot problems that might be an issue too. The run is a marathon. It's just a long term goal i have for next year POSSIBLY. But i definitely need to be healthy with no injuries and lose much more weight for that to happen and build stamina in all 3 events a lot. I really enjoy all 3 sports though and am enjoying working out with them and improving! Heat wouldn't be an issue at that event probably not anyways because November is typically cooler there. If i get really serious about the goal in November i'm going to drive down there and watch the ironman this year. I'm not going to stay anywhere though just sleep in car. :funny: I just don't want to spend a lot of money and i won't be there long. just for the ironman because i've never seen one. I feel like a yuppy lately. I have bike rack on car and in trunk is all bike and swim gear. ha ha.

Thanks Chris! I do have a facebook group i'm posting daily workouts in. not sure if i will post them here too or not.

i did bike 19 miles today at 12mph. I know 12 mph is slow BUT when i started earlier in the season i was biking at 10 or 11. I can't remember. So it's an improvement and i'm carrying extra weight so i have a lot of room for improvement. I also use a hybrid right now and no toe clips and don't start the time exactly when i start. :)

i had some old swimming lessons i bought and never used which are still good so i used one. i was with 2 ladies who were skinny and had nice shapes and were age. I haven't swam hardly at all since 2011 when i did indoor tri and swam a lot that year. Before that i was confident in the water but never knew the strokes or had swimming lessons.. when swimming laps. i lapped the 2 ladies in the pool. I think exercise i have been doing and maybe even lifting weights for 4 or 5 weeks in May has helped. Since a lot of times it takes a while to build your endurance and breathing in the pool. Granted they are beginner swimmers too though. The one lady looked at me and said i think need to build endurance up. made me feel good considering i'm carrying around and pulling in the water quite a bit more weight than her.

endurance is going good. I might start trying to do intervals more to get heart rate going more and to lose weight. The weight loss is slow moving. I'm trying this week to keep track of food intake and see how i can improve.

i should say the weight loss is slow moving but it is going down. :thumb:

i've decided to not do the 5k's this summer or run/walk. I'm going to start it in the fall. It just gives me a little more time to lose weight and less risk for injury to feet. I am still building endurance and breathing with the other exercises. Also i can't afford all these registration fees and would rather do bike rides than 5k's where i'm barely running. I also do hiking quite a bit and that is more of a workout and better on feet.

sister gave me some knee straps. I have no knee problems. But i hike a lot and there are like a million steps i sometimes go up. Also with the leg press and cycling i thought it a good idea while i'm heavy.

Yesterday i took the day off.

today i just did incline intervals on the TM. for 90 minutes watching a movie. It's raining out. I might go swimming later if i have time but i doubt it. I have first mammogram today. fun.

I might post workouts daily for a few weeks. Just because we have company and it's easy to not workout and eat badly. i will start on Friday.

I still am going to work old job too. it's just there is less work available because they moved some of their department out of the country for the most part. so i need something else to compliment it. I will still work weekends and evenings. :)

i forgot swimming tri class today. Just with everyone here it totally slipped mind. i did do the 25 mile bike ride on the 4th. and the 3rd we were busy so i didn't go that day either.

Next week it will be back to business though.

i love having everyone here but i have to say i really do love space too. Today i encouraged everyone out of the house and said i would meet them which i am going to do now. just to have a little space. :funny:

I do want to get back to working out thought and eating right.

i'm not meeting them for a little bit. I'm excited to get back to working out and losing weight. and i'm definitely excited for the swim training class. Last week i spent looking for a job and this week company. so it's been like 2 weeks since i've done much.

we have one relative left for a week but i still should get things done now and back to work. i fell in love with 4 year old nephew. he is so fun to tease. He has a great sense of humor and loves being teased and is so cute! i called him pip squeak. then he asked me what his last name was if i knew. so i said well your first name is pip so your last name must be mr squeak. :funny: he called me farty pants. just to be funny not because i do that. :funny:

tomorrow is biking. i want to swim, bike and lift weights starting tomorrow.

i did weights today and ate healthy trying to eat protein. i had swimming on the schedule today but i wasn't feeling that well so i didn't go which is a bummer. But it couldn't be helped.

i'm going to try and take a break from here . i'm starting new job next week and i will still be on facebook and maybe i will come back and maybe i won't. i still want to workout and everything and continue with that. I find i'm a happier person when i workout especially when i do cardio. i still have a lot of goals and maybe i will just focus on them. :D

i really want to drop some weight by November. It's only hope of doing the ironman next year. because there is no way feet can handle running so much at a heavier weight. i never had foot problems before i gained when i ran long distance so i have a lot of hope it will help. After our guest leaves i plan on working out a lot.

so that is focus. I'm going to go biking, swimming, weights and the elliptical mostly. biking really helps me the best with weight loss so i plan on doing a lot of that. In november i am going to drive down and visit dad and go see the this year's ironman. I might go see the wisconsin ironman too in september. that isn't that far from here. I REALLY want to do this. if i actually can do this and finish i'm getting a ironman tattoo but not where anyone can see. ha ha

I'm not sure how to handle people sometimes. I just had someone tell me a song i like is out of the pit of hell. But they really like donald trump. Am i the only one that sees the irony in that?? :Hahabonk: Boy if they only could hear some other music i like. :funny: oh well.

I REALLY hope new job works out well.

I hope your new job works out well, too, Bekah! I'll be holding good thoughts for you on that front, and also on your fitness and health goals. :sunshine:

I have seen several Ironman tattoos at the Y; mostly on calves (lower legs, that is--not baby cows!). Do you have any tattoos now?

Funny on the song. :D I suspect the song isn't something I'd like either (I don't like anything harsh), but being a grown woman, you certainly have the right to choose what you'd like to listen to. Sounds like a good occasion to say, "that's an interesting opinion" and change the subject!
