Afternoon ladies,

Bossman lots of places with the D*&k name on line.

Bekah, I sang in choir in HS and of course at home all the time. Still do today...I hear a note or two and give the artist, song and start singing and Chuck say is there any you "don't know" and I say yeah some LOL

We joke around as he was in a band but only got to play the organ and he had in his contract he could only sing "one song" The Crazy World of Arthur Brown "Fire".....that was it....LOL

So I still tease him at times and say at least contract didn't have any clauses in it for singing LOL

That's all we listen to is "oldies station". Not a fan of today's music only a select few...

Oh we had this model 10 years ago Bekah. It came out of the model apartment and the drawers are broke; so waiting for our maintenance guy to get them in as he ordered them.

A new one was delivered to an apartment further down, on Friday...Chuck saw it.

Such is life this will go as long as it does and they will get us another one. After 17 years here...we have had a number of different ones.

Well off to meds, breathing and a lay down for a short period of time.

Hope everyone had a nice day.....

made me laugh about hubby having a clause in his contract. :funny:

yes i like the oldies too.

This summer with no teacher goal is to go through classic rock book and really get to know the songs. Know the words, the music, and the song meaning. i really enjoy that. It's an easy version so it's not difficult on the piano. but to make them sound the best they can at an easy version too. i think it will be fun.

weather didn't cooperate with biking and i got busy today. I plan on starting weights tomorrow and incorporating swimming and biking and skating into routine. i might drop the walking right now just because i want to keep feet healthy.

Strength training, swimming, biking and skating sounds like a nice well-rounded program, Bekah! Did you ever start the dance classes, or did you decide against that?

I haven't taken a picture of the lilacs yet, Sue. I was thinking I should do that when I ran Monbun out this morning. The scent was heavenly--too bad I couldn't capture that with phone's camera! (No new phone yet--I've hit a few snags on that project.)

I've got a potential new PT client, but there's been a bit of drama around it, and I'm not sure I really want to work with the guy, but I'm going to give it a try. I have spoken to him before and thought he was a nice old guy; I used to see him with his previous trainer, who quit working with him. She warned me that I'd probably be asked to replace her, and she didn't want to say why, but said I should ask why she's not working with him anymore. So I asked boss about it and the response was that the two of them had "a personal issue." So fine, not a big deal, right? Okay, I'll work with him. Then I talked to the other trainer and found out the personal issue was basically sexual harassment of a vulgur (but strictly verbal) type. The guy is a big donor so I understand why they haven't revoked his membership, but I really think it's crummy of boss not to have said, "look, here's what happened, but I hope you'll work with him anyway." Seems to me like it's kinda like asking someone to watch your dog without warning that he'll bite if you wear red. Anyway, I did call him because I'd said I would, and I'm willing to give him a chance, but I'm not re-arranging schedule to do it. I offered him an earlier time slot than he prefers and he said he'd try it, so we'll see. I am not putting up with any inappropriate behavior though. If I had known what he said before I told boss I'd do it, I would have come up with an excuse, but I don't like to go back on word. And I can't go back and say, "now that I know, no, thank you," because I don't want to get the other woman in trouble. So wish me luck! As usual, it's own fault for not asking questions before saying okay.

i'm taking the dance class in the fall. I wanted to do all outdoor activities this summer. :)

I've had guys touch butt. actually once at a ymca. I had one guy while i was working in a factory on a line in college, put his hands around me to show me something and stood too close and then asked me out and called me a b word when i said no. i have a few more incidents too. all when i was younger. :P not anymore. :funny:

if you have to work with him maybe try and give him the benefit of the doubt. if he said vulger sexual comments it's obviously not right But everyone deserves a second chance and even though i don't know this specific situation or this man i believe in second chances. I also know that gossip sometimes makes things worse sounding and builds things up more than they really are. again i don't know this guy and this specific situation and what he said either.. and i do think you should let him know your married somehow right away but if you have to work with him, maybe just believing the best in him but with caution is the best way to be. i know that's a pretty liberal point of view. i'm pretty liberal on stuff though. i believe in second chances and rehabilitation of even prisoners and not just sending them to jail.

i'm reading this book on habits. it's biblical oriented i really like it. one thing it said was to keep your committments to yourself and others. I sometimes fail at that (an example is goals on here) and many other bad habits. It says to overcome evil with good. so you focus on your good habits to replace your bad ones. It's the best self help book that i've found. I"m going to keep reading it over and over again this summer.

everyday i tell myself i'm grateful to live today a normal person and a normal life. and not suffer mental health problems or illness and i really meant that. I don't even care if i'm poor. :P

mom says i'm a different person. She keeps asking where i went and who is this new person. i told her the old me might turn up so appreciate the new me for now. so i think there is a difference because i never told her anything on goals, and things i'm doing etc. she noticed a difference on her own.

I"m trying to be offline more. I'm going on fb once a day. and I am going to take a break from posting on here for a while. See if i keep that committment. :funny: famous last words i know. i will be back though and say how i did. :D

i just wanted to add the book is a habit book by joyce meyers.

She says to focus not on the bad habits but on forming good ones. which is an important biblical truth. good has more power than evil. darkness is swallowed up in light, etc. so focus on developing the good habits you want not the bad habits you want to break! which makes sense.

she says where the mind goes the person follows so be sure to focus on what you want and not what you don't want. :)

and that repetition is the key to forming good or bad habits. she said she use to hate eating healthy but repetition is also the key to enjoying healthier food. Things we all know or have heard too.

she also talks about how the flesh craves certain things but being guided by the holy spirit and the bible you learn to and even enjoy not engaging in those cravings but following the spirit.

but i say walk and live habitually in the spirit; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

She says it takes about i think 15 to 30 days to develop a habit and don't wait to feel like doing something. Don't live by emotion but decision.

making good habits and breaking bad ones is the name of the book. It's probably one of most favorite books by her. Now i commit to not posting till September. :)

Cute video, Sue--Monbun doesn't have quite that many tennis balls, but DH will take half a dozen out and throw them while the goofy pup chases them down.

Sounds like a good book, Bekah. I put it on hold at the library. I also ordered one of her devotionals from Amazon. A used copy was only $5. I see she has a bunch of them, so I chose one called, "New Day, New You" to try. I am a fan of devotionals in general (I currently read from 4 different ones every morning!), so figured I'd check out Joyce's while I was thinking of her.

It's great that you are making changes that are noticeable to your mom--congratulations! :thumb:

I'm sorry about your incidents of sexual harassment. It's sad how common they are. :( I don't anticipate any problems with the older man--although what he said to the other trainer was unbelievably inappropriate, I don't plan to be alone with him. I'll just work with him in the weight machine and cardio rooms where there are other people. I'm sure it will be fine. I am kind of disgusted that boss wouldn't give me a heads up, but at least now I know that her main concern is $ and not me!

I guess I'd better start getting ready for bed--I have appts at 8,9 and 10 tomorrow. Have a great weekend, everyone!

it is a good book although you seem pretty goal oriented not sure you would benefit as much as me from it mo. I could say the same for sue too and mom as well. I don't know bama and chris and yah enough to say for them. I would definitely say the same thing on Boss as well. But it's beneficial to me.

I have 2 of her devotionals already that i read daily too. :) The confident woman and the power thoughts devotional.

Have a nice weekend!

Hi ladies,

Sorry for being MIA but busy this week. On the run now but hope to get back later to catch up....as for April....here's how I did and plan for May....Wishing you all a great Sunday.

March Report

April went very while. As usual when we had to shop that was our RLW for the morning and did our evening workout. Missed an evening workout due to doctor's appointment on Tuesday and that evening was tuckered out so none either. Unfortunately pain carried over to the next day so skipped workout but did a bit of a RLW with dusting the place LOL Back on track the day after. Had to skip another evening workout due to back pain. Did end of the month dusting on the last Tuesday of the month and that counted as workout being on feet for 3 hours and bending and such. Did morning workout on last Wednesday of month but as exhausted still from no sleep the night before so no evening workout. However, it still worked out to be a very good month.

Weigh Ins for the Month:

4/2/17 Sunday weigh in 115.5
4/9/17 Sunday weigh in 115.5
4/16/17 Sunday weigh in 118
4/23/17 Sunday weigh in 118
4/30/17 Sunday weigh in 116

Start date for May will be May 1st For MWF mornings weeks 1 and 2 MWF will Self's Head To Toe Toning Soothe and Sculpt (centering twist, Roll-over, power down, rotate and recharge, easy unwind, Let it go lunge, calming crunch; For Weeks 3 & 4 Another Self workout Strength (the knockout (triceps and back), Core Svelte Reach (core, shoulders, triceps, biceps and obliques), Cardio Star Power (works shoulder, back, abs, butt and legs), Strength "T" for Toned (works triceps, back, hips, butt and legs), Core Blaster (works shoulders, triceps and abs), Strength Leaner Lunge (works shoulders, back, abs, obliques, butt, legs), Core Bicycle Mega Burner (works abs, obliques), have to skip Cardio ballerina bound and Cardio fast feet as involves jumping and hopping (too much for me now) MWF evening WHW Lift More, Lose More 15 Minute workout (Dead lift to High Pull, Curl to lunge press, Triceps Extension and Chest Press and fly (4 sets of 10 reps); and T-Th again will do jog in place/walking/dancing for some cardio.

Food goals: Food goals have not changed but remain the same...continue to take vitamin D, and keep up the increase in the fruits and veggies in diet, and try some different type of veggies, which we have been doing well with. Also continue to try out some different recipes, which had we are bound and determined this year to do better with. I will also continue with the getting in chocolate several times a week. PB is no longer an eating option for me. As for desserts we have made a switch and am keeping portion controls as I need to. Our soups mixed with egg noodles are working out great giving up lots of veggies and the sauce is already included; in addition to getting 2 dinners out of a can. Plus tummy likes it too LOL We will continue to have them over other types of noodles, like little farfalle and ditalini pasta too.

We have made up a number of the following ideas for dinners and just adding to our menu. In addition we have a number of ideas for different bases to go over pasta, making casseroles, etc. Plus making calzones, and pastry filled with vegetables and other filling to add to our diet for even more variety. We did a test one and it worked out great.

Trying to continue a variety of foods in our diet. Doing very well getting fish into diet having it on most Friday's and have also been getting it in during the week also. In addition adding diced peppers, potatoes, corn, spinach and other veggies to go with the fish has worked out well too. Still have had to be careful on portions as stomach still rebels on occasion, hence no weight gain in 2017 and slowly increase portion sizes to maybe put some weight on. Some weeks it goes up but then comes right back down again. Wish me luck.

Looks like a good April for you, Sue! :thumb: The May workouts sound interesting. Good luck with those, and also with your food plan. :)

I'm looking forward to getting devotional and reading the library book, Bekah. I'm sure there'll be helpful nuggets in there for me, too. :D

I gave the gluten-free sourdough another go today, and the bread was much better. The recipe says to let it rise in the pan 4-12 hours. Last time I let it go the whole 12, but I thought it was too sour. Today, I baked it after 4. It didn't rise as high, but tasted better. Next time, I'll split the difference maybe and try 8, or 6. Anyway, this is going to make great toast, so that will be nice this week.

There were two Army Rangers from son's old unit killed in Afghanistan last week. One of them, DS was in RASP with; he said he was a great guy. (He didn't know the other.) So I am very grateful that boy is out now, but heart is breaking for those families. :(

Afternoon (or evening for some of you) ladies,

Great stories and funny comics to make day....after I catch up off to play some games before it's dinner time....

Bekah, yeah I laughed too but he could do the Crazy World of Arthur Brown very well LOL

Your summer music goals sound wonderful Bekah and wising you the best. Sorry about the weather. Hope the lack of walking helps your feet.

Molasses, the lilacs sound beautiful.....I got a wonderful pic from a friend today of them....

Image

HUGS on the new client and let's hope he either behaves or decides the time is good for him and goes elsewhere. Yeah been there done that myself sometimes so I can feel for you, I always liked to help when I could and like yourself got into something I didn't want to sometimes.

I was lucky I guess as I had more guy friends that girl friends with being into cars and guy friends who I worked on cars with were like BIG brothers and beware to any guy who thought otherwise....LOL

Plus I do remember once in a gym mother talked me into joining that was in the shopping center I worked for the jeweler in...one of the trainers touching butt and I swung around with foot raised right at "throat level"....he walked away and never came back and apparently said something to other trainers as the owner asked me what happened, I told him and he said do you want a women trainer. I said I don't need a trainer I can do the workouts myself, thanks...

I didn't last long there and told mom go during the day as I am done....I will do stuff at home where I can take a nice shower afterwards without having to worry about touching stuff etc.

Smart move on the dance class in the Fall, Bekah.

Bekah, good for you on the "new persona". Did LOL about your mom. Money doesn't bring happiness Bekah, while some think so I don't and I have been at both end of the spectrums in life.

Good luck on the off line more.

Oh Molasses, Alex (the original Marley) out of all of our furbabies loved him tennis balls the most. When we'd be working on the 55 Chevy he'd lay in the front yard with us and just mouth and chew his tennis ball....when it broke. He'd bark at me and walk to the tool cabinet and reach up his head and grab another tennis ball...if it was empty....I'd get or Chuck as many times I was inside the trunk and Alex would bark and run to the cabinet to let us know he needed more tennis balls LOL

Thanks Molasses on the month of April and May workouts. I can send you links if you want I think I still have them. Just let me know.

Good luck with the sourdough toast...I used to love it but now digestive system doesn't LOL

Oh no Molasses, I am so so sorry to hear about the two Army Rangers in your son's unit. heart and prayers go out to their families.

Well I am off to play some games till hubby is done with his "nap time" LOL

i looked up crazy world of arthur brown and laughed too. Chuck must have a good voice to be able to sing arthur brown. :funny: I'm surprised a group like that existed in the 60's. whole family liked lawrence welk back then.

i will respond to stuff later. i will say this weekend i told someone about belief in rehabbing non violent offenders and that they are less likely to reoffend than just putting them in prison and it didn't go over too well. There really is truth to it though.
