Happy Tuesday Peeps!
Two walks of 20 minutes and one longer walk of 40 minutes for me today. Snow is coming down right now but will change to rain for tomorrow.
A very drab day here yesterday and today . No sun and rain on and off all day .
Good job on the walking Chris and keeping up with your plan. Sometimes it's hard to keep up .
I again so far this month have done a workout everyday . Don't know if I will keep it up or not . Yesterday I got up and didn't want to but talked myself into it and the same today . weights and 1 mile walk yesterday and today total of 4 miles 2 in the am and 2 afternoon . Not planning anything special for workouts this month . Just trying to keep moving. . I do have to find some decent shoes for particular feet as I want to be able to walk at the Dam as soon as it is warm enough.
Mo , How in the world can you not eat sugar? Sugar is in most everything . Course we don't clean eat so maybe it would be easier if we did . I did see that the stores have their packets of seeds out already . I may try some tomatoes in containers this year . Other than that no place for anything else .
Sue sorry about not finding the air pump . i searched for mine a fews months back and finally remmebered that son had it . They like to borrow but always forget to return . I use to have two and not down to one since I got it back . don't know where the other one is.
Well the latest on the grand daughter . So far this week(but it's only Tuesday) she has went to school. Her Dad had a long talk with her plus her Mother to her to an obgyn and the Doctor talked to her and explained some things to her that I guess her Mother didn't (I don't know as I am out of the picture with her) and also her father told her no school no basketball so we shall see how it goes. She says no bullying at school and that school isn't the problem .
Now the nice news . She had been recruited by a different Basket ball team(not school) and it is quite an honor to be chosen for this team . It will be a lot of work for her parents getting her to the games but grampa said he would help if necessary . Of course we are proud of her . She is only 12 and very tall. We were surprised that she wanted to play but know that it is good for her . Now if the school situation is behind us all should be good. Only time for tell.
Well DH just walked in so I need to start some dinner .
I see you are already on Goodreads, Sue. Have you won any giveaways? friend who told me about the site has won a whole shelf full of books. Glad you had a good Feb. (yay on all the workouts!) and wishing you luck with your March plans! I'm sorry you weren't feeling up to snuff the other day. Maybe your dr would have some suggestions for your tummy troubles? That sounds frustrating. Thanks on the mammogram. I'm not very concerned about it ( biopsy in 2013 only showed calcifications and not anything to worry about), but doctor's office has started nagging me to get it done. I was supposed to go 6 mos. after the biopsy but I was not comfortable with that--I'd already had 3 mammograms in the space of a month. I didn't want to end up causing myself problems. But I guess it's time. Good luck with your mammo and bone density test. I don't know what you were typing when you got the 404 error, but if you mentioned your bone drug by name, that will do it. I've noticed that you can write out generic medication names, but the brand name will get flagged.
Whoa, lots of walking for you today, Chris! Great job!
Bama, most of what I eat is made from scratch so that kind of hidden sugar wasn't too much of a problem. I did have to forego ketchup for the duration. The hard part for me was swearing off the Ghiradelli dark chocolate chips--the little bits of sweetness I look forward to every day! I put them in oatmeal, melt them to drizzle on a banana, stir them into healthy cookie recipes. . . . so I really missed that, and also not being able to put honey on plantain toast. But I made it through the 30 days--yay! Congratulations to your grand-daughter on the basketball team! I'm glad to hear she isn't being bullied, and hope the bb news helps cheer her up. Great job with your workout consistency! I hope you can find some shoes that feel good.
Hi, YAH and Bekah, (and Boss Man, if you are keeping up with us)~hope all is well with you guys!
tomato plants have already germinated--some are already a good inch high! The peppers took weeks last year, so I'm not surprised to see not much going on in that bin. I got more peat pellets on Sat. so will start some more things on Friday.

Yes I always try to read stuff by anyone no matter who they are.
As for the no sugar thing, it can be done. I know a guy who trains in gym who lives with Chrons Disease, so he doesn't consume sugar, which means not using milk and butter in your eggs, eating things like skinless chicken and fish, eating unprocessed cereals and other sugar-free choices and he is able to cope with that as a daily regime.
Will have some catching up to do I see. Well I did something to knee Monday night as it hurt terribly on Tuesday afternoon. I did dusting in the a.m., so wondering with the up and down on the stool I twisted it. In any case no workout Tuesday evening.
It's grocery day so off to have breakfast, put face on and all that fun stuff. Plus can't wait to hear what happened to Teri's car and see what type she got, she told me but I don't remember the name and not a clue today on the new smaller cars. Not cup of tea. I am like Tim Allen and Jay Leno.....'MORE POWER MORE POWER' LOL
Wishing you all a good day. workout will be walking with shopping. Hoping knee stays alright so can do Self's sexy arm shape-up tonight.
As you know from the grocery report all went well with it....just feel bad for Teri.
Well a busy one today with vacuuming, and doctor phone calls and the list goes on. Hope to get back today to do a catch up post.
As for workouts was so tuckered out didn't do workout last night. All the walking yesterday made up for it. Today's vacuum day so a RLW there and tonight will do walking/dancing/light jog in place.
Another night with not much sleep again; such is life...on tap for today.....Morning workout will be Mari Windsor Pilates for Pink Workout Arms, legs and abs with resistance band. Will do tone legs with warm up, workout and cool down. For the evening, Self's sexy arm shape-up
Off to check mail, eat, workout and cook up sausage and clean scallions. No outdoor stuff today since I had the itchy stuff again and just not a good night. Last thing I need is to be out pulling weeds on a "red allergy day here" not gonna happen.
We got about 3" of snow this morning--just enough to make everything look beautiful for a few hours. It didn't stick on the roads (it was 60 degrees yesterday!) so even though I had to go out to pick up old mammo films, travel wasn't treacherous. We also stopped at WM to pick up the colonoscopy prep stuff DH needs before the 24th. They had everything he needed for about $14 less than the GI center's kit.
Dang, Sue, sorry about the itchies and the poor sleep. Hope you make up for it tonight.
Boss Man, avoiding sugar definitely can be done, but I'm glad I don't have to do it forever! I am sure people like your friend would much rather avoid the foods that make them feel so miserable than eat them and suffer, but they have sympathy.
I have book club tonight, so I"m off to figure out what to DH for supper and to get ready.
Chris, congrats on those two 20 minute walk and another for 40 minutes too. I see the "white stuff" was falling and now rain. Don't throw anything at me but low to mid 60s last week and this week mid 60s and today its 74.....
Bama, bummer on the drab Tuesday. I see rain for you too. We got enough rain and snow pack...
Good for you on the workouts. Hope you can find some shoes.
Oh the air pump is in the closet, probably in the bag I have stuff in, was just too dark and cumbersome to deal with, easier to switch workout. We have a couple too but all buried in closets.
HUGS on granddaughter's issues. Glad it isn't bullying, but she might feel out of it as people aren't friendly too her, she might like a guy that's short .....so many different things can happen. I watched it with sister and brother and heck I had some of them. In fact I hated our first year on Long Island, they all made fun of me and called me "city girl"...I had one gal, Diane, who was tall and strong for her age, I'd give her a quarter so I could get a head start off the bus and run home LOL
Yes Molasses, on Goodreads...though I have to admit I haven't been there in quite some time now. Thanks on the not feeling well wishes and yes I am going to talk to primary about some of the tummy issues...some of them I have a good idea what it is.
Oh I had calcification from original mammogram at age 35....that was the bench mark when I start. However, I now see it's 40 years old. mom had calcifications also so she told me to be aware. I, of course, had to go back and that happened every year I went.
I had the problem and surgery here....the good ole steroid meds again (P med) since I don't feel like getting an error message again. I consider "P" drug a generic but who knows.
OMG Molasses, no ketchup nope couldn't do it LOL well chocolate too would be hard.
Wishing you luck with your garden.
I see you got the "white stuff" this a.m., Molasses. Glad travel went well and wishing hubby luck with the colonoscopy stuff. I can't do it that way so did another test and that came back negative. However, not as good as colonoscopy...but that ain't gonna happen unless they put me in the hospital to do the whole thing.
Thanks Molasses, yeas I am hoping for a good night's sleep.
Have fun at book club....which book did you read. Good luck with hubby's dinner.
Well off to do last check and then meds, breathing etc.
Well I caught a head cold so no workout for me this am . I have been consistent starting in February and haven't missed a day until today . One day won't hurt me . Maybe this afternoon I will feel good enough to do a short walk . I had been wanting to drag Richard Simmons DVD's out but don't feel up to doing those . Seems no one has seen him in a couple of years. I saw something on TV about him this week.
Granddaughter has started with her new basket ball team and seems to like it so far . No game as of yet but a couple times of practice. and Drum roll please , She went to school everyday this week but her Dad said she tried to get out of it one day .
Ahh, son just pulled up . He is doing our taxes for us . So be back later. I want to know how much I owe the Government this year!!!!!!!!!!
Had a nice "me day" even if I was tuckered out from another sleepless Saturday night....such is life...
Today is another busy one...first through is workouts for today....Morning workout Mari Windsor Pilate for Pink Workout Arms, legs and abs with resistance band. Today will do sculpt abs, (will do warm up, workout and cool down) For the evening, Self's sexy arm shape-up
Plus lots of time on feet again as have peppers to clean, cut and slice in strips. So me and baking soda will be busy LOL
HUGS and get well wishes on the head cold Bama. You have done great. Yeah I saw all the stories about that. Congrats to your granddaughter on the new team and HUGS to her on the school attendance. Glad she did so well with it.
Wishing you good luck with the taxes...
Chris, Molasses, and Bekah hope all is well with you. Molasses, I see your neck of the woods is in for a BIG storm. March waited and is making a mid month "lion's roar" with the snow. Boy I don't miss it. I won't even tell you what our temps are...as you will all want to KILL me LOL
Well off to breakfast, workout and lots of hot water and standing....
We only ended up with about 6" of snow, although there was ice on top so shoveling wasn't easy. DH is still working on clearing the driveway of what drifted back with the wind last night (which is still blowing), and then the thick ice by the road where the snow plows piled up slush that then froze. I've got mammo at noon. I was going to reschedule, but DH says he'll drive me. The only part that concerns me is getting in and out of the driveway without getting hit by another car. We are on the side of a hill so visibility is limited.
I did our federal taxes yesterday, but am holding off on filing--DH wants to double check a couple things.
Hope your busy day on little sleep went well, Sue! We always seem to get a big storm in March. Someone said there's even another one in the forecast, but I haven't been following that news. One at a time is plenty for me!
I'm sorry about your cold, Bama, and hope you are feeling better soon. I was reading about a podcast called "Missing Richard Simmons;" apparently he kind of dropped out of life rather suddenly, and some of his old friends are concerned that he's been controlled by a housekeeper or something along those lines. I'm happy to hear your granddaughter is feeling better about school.
goofy dog is barking at a stuffed bunny so I'm going to go run him outside before he scatters tax papers far and wide. (He just knocked one stack off the table with his tail.)
On tap workout wise today....Morning workout Mari Windsor Pilate for Pink Workout Arms, legs and abs with resistance band. Today will do legs, (will do warm up, workout and cool down) For the evening, Self's sexy arm shape-up.
Plus after workout another workout with the rake and the ground cover in the backyard. I pulled all the trifids (remember those old sci-fi movies....well Chuck came up with that one LOL). He swept and raked yesterday and our old bodies felt it yesterday and especially last night so no walking for me last night.
Molasses, glad you didn't get hit too hard by the storm. Upstate NY and Pennsylvania got it bad though and so did areas of Long Island. weather site had a whole bunch of videos up there...many time lapsed....
March was one of our worst months in Rochester, NY....
Good luck with the taxes too. LOL about doggy and the stuffed bunny!
We look and say "and this is why we now live in California" as we had to open windows and doors since we hit 87....a record high for us.
Well on that note of you all growling, and throwing snowballs at me.....I am off
Hey All,
I am still around just busy right now. I am still walking to work three of five days of the week. I am trying to walk at lunch but... when I can.
I hope you are all well and will try to say more soon.
Chris I see you are busy too but getting those walks in.
Since I will be on the run tomorrow as have lots to do....I wanted to be sure and wish you all a very
Lots of memories for me since I started going to the parade at age 5 and continued till age 18 with Tante Lisa. After which we went to the top of the UN for lunch (she had a buddy there) and then to St. Patrick's Cathedral....wonderful memories of a wonderful lady. Plus I got to see Uncle Walter and Heidi (their Daschund) too
