Good Morning , You do have the snow Chris. We haven't had a lot this year or last year but it still could get us.

Some of the spring flowers are trying to pop out and it is to early for that . Strange weather we are having.

Just getting started with day . Nothing special going on. i read a couple of books(kindle) over the week end . Other then that it was an uneventful week end. I did watch a little of the Grammys last night . I enjoy Adele and I see this morning she took most of the awards . I did see the Beyonce skit or what ever you want to call it . I thought it was ridiculous but I am sure many thought different .

Enjoy your day whatever you get into .

Morning ladies,

Well lots of stuff going on here with all our rain and some of it kind of scary for a lot of people. We are all hoping it all works out for us.

Same here Bama, with the rain being on and off and some areas being flooded and so sad as so many are losing their homes, etc.

Sorry you had to leave so much in Bama, hope you can find some nice stuff there to replace it with. LOL about doing it yourself. I have found that it's easier to do it myself too over the years sometimes. However, most of the time Chuck will do it.

Yes I have seen the same about muscle also. Still rather have it than fat and saggy skin.

Thanks on the not sleeping, such is the life of "old people" is what I read and see. LOL Yeah I used to be like your hubby but not anymore.

Oh I am an avid football, baseball, basketball and hockey fan. Plus living in NY I got to see them all. In addition the hockey team (Islanders) started as the Long Island Ducks many years back in a small arena that we used to ice skate in and so we had a blast staying and watching them practice and in later years go to games there.

I watched the Super Bowl stuff this weekend and enjoyed it. Both Chuck and I were amazed at Lady Gaga's voice. Glad no politics.

I saw parts of the Grammy's late last night while I was getting ready for bed after I watched the news. Wasn't impressed much. But it was late and I am sure the better stuff was on earlier. Hate to say it just really don't care any longer. Watched when there were groups and people I knew years back and enjoyed it. Just not the same today...more for younger people.

Chris, glad you had a good weekend. Yup all about balance and sounds like you are doing well. Sorry about not feeling great on Saturday...glad you got to relax. Sounds like great fun on Sunday with the kids. Plus got the snow off your driveway I see. Yikes on the blizzard...take care. Hope work cancels so you don't have to go out in it.

This is why we left Western NY Chris as like your area we got it by the foot not by the inches...hence the move to California.

I see your weather is changing Bama, and spring is trying to come. I got some more books in from Alibris and am enjoying Johanna Lindsey right now, almost done with it and am then off to another Fern Michaels one.

I will check out the Grammy stuff today. As I said not too impressed with the crop today...JMHO

Well off to do a quick mail check, breakfast, workout, call office and the list goes on and on....

Have a nice day,

Sue

Hi, Sisters,

Hope everyone is feeling well and staying warm. (Seems like there are a lot of germs going around in area--lots of sick people!)

We got 6" of snow last Thursday. I was supposed to be at work at 8 a.m., but they didn't plow our road till after 10 a.m., so although I was up and dressed and ready to go, I ended up calling in. Versa was not going to make it up the hill in front of house in 6" of snow. So it was an actual old-fashioned Snow Day for me; I stayed home. By the time DH woke up and plowed the driveway, it was 3 p.m. and the road was clear. I made popcorn and we watched "All About Eve," which I had checked out of the library because I'd never seen it. :)

Friday morning it was freezing in the house. :chilly: I keep it cool as a general rule, but this was really cold. The furnace had been making noise in the night, and it apparently shut itself off. Luckily, DH got it going again by just re-setting it, but I suspect we are going to be needing a new one soon. It's still making odd noises, although it hasn't shut off again. We have an oil burner, but I was hoping we could maybe switch to natural gas. I called our power co. but it's not as easy as just saying we want gas--there's a whole process to go through because we aren't in a neighborhood where there's already a gas line. A house maybe 1/4 mile down the road has gas, so we'll see what it would cost to get the pipe extended to us. I'm guessing it will be cheaper and easier to just go with a new oil furnace, but who knows.

Are you in an area that floods, Sue? I hope you stay safe and dry.

I didn't watch any of the Grammys--I'm just so out of touch with current music, and not a fan of a lot it. I do like Adele, and was glad to see she won. She has a beautiful voice and sings songs that could have been from era. I"d have probably agreed with you, Bama.

I hope you were able to stay home and enjoy your blizzard, Chris, and hope your DH stays safely home, too. Yay on keeping a good balance of clean eating and fun food. :thumb: The green sauce sounds delicious.

I hope you can find decor you like even better than what you left, Bama. Kind of nice to start fresh, I think, as our tastes do change a bit as the years go by (at least mine have). Sorry about your willpower struggles. :? I don't have much too much willpower either so I have to set things up in a way that I don't have to rely willpower, otherwise it's all over!

I don't know the music any of those 3, Sue--Lita Ford, Poison and Warrant. I'd have guessed Poison and Warrant were metal bands, but maybe not? American Pie, on the other hand, is a favorite!

Yay on getting the workouts in, Bekah!

YAH, I see you are as AWOL as me--hope all is well with you and yours, and hope you enjoyed the dog-sitting stint.

Happy Valentine's Day, Sweeties!

Good Morning Sisters, and Happy Valentine Day.

Hope your sweetie gets you something nice. We don't do Holidays any longer . It's much easier to just do what we want LOL. Anyway after many years of getting things I didn't need or couldn't use or didn't like we both decided to not exchange any longer.

Wow , two years already . Doesn't seem that long but I see that it is.

Soon it will be spring for all of us . can't wait . I know Canada and Michigan are a little later than the rest of us but it will be here soon.

Workouts are coming along . I am in a challenge to do a workout everyday in this month and so far I am on schedule . Even on day off I am trying to walk at least a Mile . I usually end up doing more than that . I have started to do a Billy Blanks strength workout that i found on Youtube . It is fast plus only 20 minutes long. I like it so will stay on it for the rest of this month.

Mo, Are you still getting ready to put your house on the Market . If so I would probably just replace the furnace . I imagine it will be expensive to convert to Gas. I would like to convert to all electric but the cost would really be to much. I think Electric is a much cleaner heat plus less headaches for me , I think .

Well we are hitting a different thrift store today . Friend said they had a lot of decor so just going to see if anything strikes fancy . It's about a half hour away . (every thing is so far away here) but it will kill some time. I have been pricing new stuff and geez the cost is ridiculous so maybe I will find something that I can use. At this stage of life it doesn't have to be the latest fad etc.

Sue I use to read Joanna Lindsay many years ago . I finished two more of Fern Michaels. Two older ones each had 3 stories in them . I will now check on Joanna Lindsay , I'm sure she has a bunch of new ones I haven't read I also have on order at the Library The Wright Brothers . I have been told a very interesting book . Course they were local so it will be a good history season .

Morning Becka , Yah and Chris hope you all have a nice Valentine day .

That's a lot of snow Chris and Mo and you can keep it although i did put on bucket list to make a snowman . Being in the south for 20+ years I wasn't able to do it . LOL>

Happy Tuesday All and Happy Valentine's Day!
Well we ended up with 79 cm of snow yesterday which is about 2 and a half feet. The blizzard closed down three of our Atlantic provinces for the day and some places are closed again today for clean up. It has been a couple of years since we had a storm this bad. They did end up pulling the plows off the road at some point and closed roads to emergency vehicles only. We just hunkered down and relaxed at home. Our driveway is now cleared and I am waiting to see when work will open. Right now they are delayed until 10 to clean up but they may have to push that back further. It will be what it is. We should have some great snowshoeing this weekend so I will plan on that as one of weekend activities.

Morning Bama! Great job on your workouts! Wish i could say the same. I haven't done Billy Blanks in a while, maybe I should pull mine out. I will send you some snow Bama. I am sure you will find some great decor items.

2 years has gone by fast Mo! Oh no on the furnace issues. Good luck with that. Glad you enjoyed your snow day. Ya I don't have a lot of willpower either. Still working on it though.

Sue I hope the rain eases up for you in Cali. Enjoy your books.

A Happy Valentine's day to you all. We don't celebrate it any longer...as I said to Chuck many years ago, it's a holiday for jewelry stores, florists, and candy companies. Though I do love chocolate LOL and flowers.

For those that celebrate have a nice day. Late and lots to do so off and hope to catch up later....

Morning ladies,

Molasses I see a good amount of white stuff for you and they didn't plow it. So a real old fashioned "snow day". We did that twice in Rochester, when it was minus 30 and even higher with wind chill and knew the bridge we had to cross would be a sheet of ice.

I remember an older movie "All About Eve" and saw that years ago. Was that it?

Yikes on the furnace and sorry you can't get the gas heat that's what we had on L.I. and everyone else we lived over the years. Chuck's parents had oil and I hated it but luckily it worked. Hope it all works out for you.

No PTL Molasses, we aren't in those areas. So yes we are safe and dry. Our backyard is a mess but once it all ends we will tackle it.

I am right with you Molasses, not a fan of the current music either.

They were more "rockers" to me I didn't consider them the "heavy metal" that many were but they were on Riki Ractman's Headbanger's Ball sometimes. Yes American Pie is one of our favs too.

Wow 2 years already time is going faster and faster...

Bama, we haven't celebrated in years too either. Yes us too Bama, Spring is soon. Glad workouts are coming a long. Had a friend on BHG that loved Billy Blanks too. She did a lot of his workouts.

Hope things went well at the thrift store. I am reading a Fern one now and found another one by Lindsey I don't have so when we get our book money again I will buy it. She had a nice long excerpt from it...I like when they do that. Fern does that for some too.

I got the first Men's book too from Alibris, so after I finish this one will read that one. Yeah I know out of order but such is life.

Oh Chris you bring back memories of living in Rochester with the 2.5 feet of snow. So sorry about the blizzard and it's effects. Glad you were all safe and sound at home. Have fun this weekend with the snow shoeing.

We are in a reprieve now Chris, however, starts back up Thursday again through Sunday and then more the following week too.

I am loving books...I love to read..always have.

Well off to a quick mail check as have breakfast, workout and then have to make up our version of our HH cheesy enchilada.

Have a good day,

Sue

Hi, time to turn in really but figured I'd get a note off to you all to show I'm still here:) Just not catching up much but tried to read some of what was posted. I did dog sitting and ended up an extra night since the flight was canceled for the people from Chicago and they had to wait another day to get home by 9 p.m. so then we had a bit of a snow storm and I kept shoveling in yard the path up to their gate and son came night before I left to plow a bit and he shoveled from gate to van which was a bit more heavier stuff:) Luckily for me:) then I spent 2 nights over his house. Slept with his one cat Smokey for her last 2 nights. She had been not eating much and then quit drinking water even. Had something going that looked like maybe cancer in stomach etc. so she was about 17 yrs. old so I ended up bringing son and her to the vet to be put to sleep:(( So I"m glad I stayed an extra night to be with her. His other cat, usually chased Smokey from his bed where she usually had slept but other son adopted him and couldn't take him with him to GB so he took the cat Archer in and he was more sassy and very vocal:) So he still has him anyway and you can talk to him as he sure answers you! But it was hard taking Smokey away:(( So I've been home since and it did snow pretty good today but at least it was big fluffy stuff. Suppose to be in 30's and maybe 40's this weekend although it is not so good for the sled dog races in Marq. since the dogs get heated up and some of the trail might get too soft so we'll see I guess. At least they got a Lot more snow east of Marq. where a lot of the race trails go.
Ice statues up at MTU that DB and SIL and their DD who was up from Idaho went to see. I doubt that Spring is around the corner here for some time:) I see your all doing a lot of exercise and all and doing good at eating also:) Not much here except for shoveling a bit. Well, thats about it so I wish you all a good sleep and have a very good week also! Guess I'll go read book for a while until I feel sleepy. take care :thumb:

Good Morning and Happy Friday.

Yah so sorry about the cat. I know you will miss him/her. . What book are you reading ?

We are having spring weather here this weekend .Hope to get some outside walking in if feet will hold up. Time to buy some new shoes for outside . I am looking for Ascis I think that spelling is right . I read that they are good for flat feet.

Nothing special planned here . Kids are out of school today and Monday for Presidents day . At least the weather will be good for them. Strange winter here in Ohio. We will have a lot of bugs this year since it hasn't been that cold to kill them off.

Yes Sue the grammys are for the younger people . I didn't know half of them or hadn't heard of them. I had DVR' it so I could skip though the ones I didn't know. Which were many.

Enjoy the weekend everyone . I am off to get into something.

Oh Sue What Joanna Lindsay book are you looking for .

The thrift store I visited this week was huge and had so many books, cassettes, cd's and record albums . I want to go back when I am alone DH was waiting for me in the car so I hurried some. I did buy two exercise dvds . Cathe and Jari Love both of these I like but they are really tough.

Hi, Sisters!

Bama, DH has flat feet and favors Asics or Saucony for running shoes. I hope you find a pair that your feet can love. I am envious of your thrift store--it sounds like a fun place to browse. Yes, we are still planning to sell, so unless the gas line is reasonably priced, we'll be sticking with oil.

I'm sorry about your son's cat, YAH. It was nice that you could keep her company those 2 nights, and also that you could go with your DS to the vet. That's a lonely trip when you have to go by yourself. I'm glad you got out of the house awhile--you don't want to be getting cabin fever!

Yes, it was the old Bette Davis movie, Sue. Marilyn Monroe had a small part in it, so that was fun to see. I'm glad you don't have to worry about flooding or being evacuated where you are. I meant to tell you, I've been using the ivermectin cream for a couple of weeks now and I don't think I''ll be filling the prescription; I can't see where it's had any effect on the redness in cheeks. Maybe ask your dermatologist for a sample tube or two, if she thinks it would be appropriate for you. I'm glad I just had the sample to try rather than having to pay to find out it doesn't work for me.

Wow, you got a pile of snow, Chris! Have fun snowshoeing--that's a great workout. :)

Hope you are doing well, Bekah.

friend from FL who comes up every other month or so (to see her DD) came over for lunch today. (In case you are wondering, the menu was ginger carrot soup and mixed green salad on socca, with chocolate chia pudding for dessert.) It was nice to catch up. Her DD is getting married in Oct. The groom was married before and has two little boys that he shares custody of. They bought a house together last year.

I have a couple appointments tomorrow morning--I had set 3 in a row, at 8, 9, 10 a.m. and wouldn't you know, the 9 a.m. cancelled today.

Sweet dreams, everyone!

Good evening ladies,

YAH was so nice to see you here and so sorry about Smokey...so sad. Sounds like the dog sitting went well and you got an extra night too. Glad your son came to help with the shoveling. Hope the sled races got the weather they needed. Oh I love ice statues wish I was there to see them.

Bama, us too as we were in the 60s on Friday and 73 on Saturday. Crazy weather. Hope the new shoes help with the walking. Oh I found it Bama on Alibris so when it's book time will get it.

Molasses, oh I loved Bette Davis and same goes for Marilyn Monroe. We both love old movies. Thanks for the tip on the cream. I know you had a good time with your friend form Florida. Congrats to her DD.

Bummer on the canceled appointment, couldn't have been the 8 a.m. one.

Well I am off to play some games till hubby wakes up.

Have a nice Sunday evening.....rain is coming back tonight and through Wednesday.

Hi All,
It has been busy and then again not. Not a lot of exercise to talk about. Dh and I did get out snow shoeing on sunday. :sunshine: I enjoyed it way more than he did. I will plan to get out on own for some more snowshoeing. We had a great weekend and a nice reprieve from the snow. We are still cleaning up off and on. Saturday morning was lessons time. I went in the backyard to try out snow shoes on saturday (and to take out the compost) and I realized I was up high enough to trim some branches that I wouldn't normally be able to reach. So gave them a bit of a trim. Well I should get some work in. Good to see everyone here!

Morning lovelies,

More rain on the way today and for the next 2 days...I am off to do a quick mail check, eat, workout, make up a grocery list, cook fish and deal with the oxygen company who managed to charge our card without any authorization. NOT happy.

Chris, glad you got a reprieve with the snow and also glad you had fun with the snowshoeing. That's a good workout in and of itself plus fun too.

Chuckling over trimming the branches while having fun outside in the snow.

Wishing you all a good Monday.....

Sue
