Loss of weight

Post by djg »

Hey guys, first off I'm a 5'9 .. I started going to the gym about 2 months ago, where I started at about 185lbs. In the first month, I did lots of cardio (running 5 miles, 3x a week) and in the last month I have been doing more lifting and barely any cardio. Usually workouts consist of 8repsx3sets per exercise. (about 3-5 times a week)

Now here is where I am sort of confused.. I just stepped on the scale and noticed that I weigh in at about 163lbs... So thats a 22lb loss despite me lifting high weights and medium-semi low reps.

Will I eventually just bottom out and stop losing weight and start gaining or am I doing something else wrong that is behind the scenes?

by the way, i try to eat many small meals a day to keep metabolism high, but more often than not because of schedule its usually just 2 meals a day for me. (lunch/dinner)

Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

You are Fat but potentially Muscle too, as you often eat 2 times a day. You might be eating much less than you used to, so you're not even maintaining previous muscle mass, gained in childhood.

You have to nail that 5-6 small meals every 2.5-3 hours, and get it sorted out on a daily basis.

If you don't, your diet is going to help you achieve nothing but the appearance of a Kenyan marathon runner.

Boss Man, thats the thing I'm not fat at all, actually quite slim.

Over the past 2 months i've seen MAJOR results in arms and chest and abs are now starting to show when i flex (they didnt before), so obviously muscle has been building during this period.

The only thing where I have lots of fat left to lose is butt/legs (god damn genes) so I'm just a little curious if I'm gonna bottom out on losing weight and start gaining progressively.

It's possible yes.

Your body couldn't keep shredding for ever, and getting more and more ripped, but you could potentially still gain some muscle yes.

Oh and Legs are quite obvious to store more Fat, than other places, as you've got the Fat distributed over a larger surface area, so that almost certainly accounts for the slower decreases in Leg Fat.
