Clean Eating not working

Post by nwelland »

Hi

I'm a 38 year old medium build female. Up until recently diet wasn't very good and I didn't do any exercise. I'm 5'2'' and 147 lb and really struggle with carrying weight around middle.
I've joined and started a 12 week challenge at a local gym. I'm loving it but am really sad that I'm not seeing any changes in body and still feel quite bloated. I'm doing 60 min classes 5 times a week. Classes are a mixture of cardio and weights - I found it really difficult to begin with but im slowly getting better.
I'm also following a clean eating plan which is typically:

Eggs or oats for breakfast
Chicken / tuna salad lunch
Brown rice / pasta and meat in the evening and alternate days of just protein and veg for evening meal.
2ltrs water per day

I'm so disappointed. I've never eaten this well and have never done as much exercise in life but I really cant see any changes and ive only lost 2 lb in 4 weeks! Also I seem more bungged up now than I ever have? Ive started to have a kale & apple blended drink in a morning but it doesn't seem to have worked.
I desperately want to drop 20lb and lose this fat and tone up but it isn't working :(

Hi nwelland, good to talk to you.

The issue you might be having is you look like you're under eating.

I'd include some snacks between breakfast and lunch, lunch and dinner and about 2-3 hours after dinner.

Here are some options you can use, like microwave soups, baked beans and rice dishes, oat granola's, ham, turkey, beef, pork and chicken from a packet, low fat cheese, nuts, peanuts, fruits including tomatoes and cucumber, vegetables including pineapple, raw carrot and celery sticks, pre-boiled eggs, pre-cooked chicken breast and low fat yoghurt, nuts and peanuts, bread, sandwiches.

Also I'd have the eggs and the oatmeal for Breakfast, don't compromise on them.

The other meals are fine as is.
