Hi Pt, good to speak to you.

What times do you eat at and what foods do you eat at those times?

Also what do the dumbbells weigh?

Hi,

For breakfast, it really depends what time I eat because it depends on the time I wake up, but I usually eat breakfast now around 11 AM. I usually eat cereal with milk or sometimes bread put in the oven with cheese on top.

For Lunch, I'll eat a sandwich or some rice with vegetables and some meat, I usually eat lunch now around 1-2 PM.
I will often eat a little bit of a snack after, like some chips or pistachios, which I know I should cut out of diet.

For Dinner, I eat rice with maybe some miso soup, and some vegetables and meat again.

The dumbbells weigh 8 lbs. I was given 3 exercises by physiotherapist to increase the strength of arms because one time muscles were so tense that I could barely move and I was in constant pain. The first exercise is putting arms in front of me with the dumbbells in hands, like I'm shaking someone's hand. left hand's palm would face the right, and the right hand palm would be facing the left.

That is just one of the three exercises I do with the dumbbells, I do 20 of each exercise.

For now I'd stick with the dumbbell exercises the physio gave you, as I don't want to contradict anything they say and as for the cardio, I'd aim for 30 minutes 3x a week on alternate days.

I'd have the cereal option not the other one and incorporate more protein in it from things like chicken, turkey, pork, beef, ham or eggs.

Pistachios are okay in moderation owing to the low carbs and having healthy fat in them, as long as you're not tanking up on them, as the fat content is calorie rich, but small items like that that are calorie dense, can be an issue if people are chugging too many because they think a small amount won't feel very fulfilling.

You can also have mid-afternoon snacks as well, like peanuts, nuts, low fat cheese, boiled eggs, oat granolas, vegetables like pineapple, raw carrot and celery sticks, low fat yoghurt, bread, sandwiches, flax seeds and fruits including tomato and cucumber.

You could combine some of these to make whole snacks, but I'd have the granolas on their own and depending on the nut, peanut and low fat cheese amounts, the same thing could apply, just so you're being sensible not to overdo it on calories.

For the cardio, should I do it only 3 times a week? What do you mean by alternate days? Is it bad to run everyday?

It's not bad to run every day, but in your circumstances it might be a bit too much and you're not trying to train for anything like an iron man or a half or full marathon, so there's no need to be doing cardio every day.

Alternate days means the same as every other day and doing it three times a week should be adequate, coupled with the other stuff you're doing and the dietary regime.
