Hey Again,
30 minute walk at lunch time. The rain moved off and we have a nice sunny day now. We saw a raccoon in the trees off the trail we were walking on. Silly thing! Guess he needed some sun too!
Oh I have a funny thing for you. I have been working on flybaby steps and the habit of the month is making your bed. I haven't made bed for years. It was never a habit for me. Well I started adding it in to routine. Then I got home one day thinking I forgot to do that. When I went up to room the bed was made. Hmmm, says I. I left in a rush on saturday morning and I know I didn't make the bed and low and behold it was made. DH has been liking the made bed and he is doing it when I forget!! Now I wonder if I could get him to mop floors??
Enjoy your workout Sue!
Good workout FitMo! I am too stubborn to get that cold.
Great workout Bama!
Anyone hear from Dianna recently? Hope she is doing well.
Chris great walk I see and LOL on the bed. We learned early in life that the bed was made and the spread put on before we got dressed and came for breakfast (remember "mother"!) LOL So it's a thing with me. Many days Chuck will say oh leave the bedspread off and NOPE gotta go on LOL
Oh Chris, Chuck used to help with all cleaning when we both worked, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cooking, and "doing the bathrooms (all 3 at the house) was his job exclusively.
Glad your hubby made the bed....I think that's nice.
Yes, Dianna is busy with house projects, and getting yard work done too.
Well off to get some research, photos and other stuff done!
Chris, I had to laugh at your bed story because something similar happened at our house. For awhile DH was staying in bed for a good half hour after I got up, so obviously I couldn't get the bed made before I left the room. One day I went back in later and lo and behold, the bed was already made! I thanked him and told him that it made me happy that he made the bed. Now 9 days out of 10, he'll make the bed. Now if I could only get him to wipe the toothpaste and whisker mess out of the sink. . . . We normally use a homemade tooth powder, but I picked him up some natural toothpaste to use while I'm gone; the tooth powder is greenish brown (it has bentonite clay and cacao in it) and without me home to scour the sink out twice a day after he brushes, I shudder to think what the sink would look like after 10 days! Yay on the walk, and the stubbornness! It sounds like Diana has been busy organizing spring projects, and I'm sure her Relay for Life team also.
Nice that Chuck is so good about pitching in, Sue. DH was totally spoiled because I stayed home with the kids for so many years. I'm trying to remember if he helped more when we first got married and both worked, but it's too long ago! I think he may have washed floors. He definitely didn't do bathrooms though! Another great workout for you, I see!
Sue DH does help out. He will do laundry and vacuum, but there is no way he will tackle the bathrooms if he has a choice. Although I remember back when we had a cat he had litter box duty.
It was meant to make you laugh. How nice that your DH does the bed for you too!
Oh you have a crazy wit in you BossMan! What chores do you do around the house?
BBL!
Oh you are too funny, Bossman , Thanks for the laugh . I needed it this morning.
Well Dh doesn't doe anything but mow the lawn and he has a riding mower for that .
I am busy packing today . Taking as much as we can in the car so when the time comes we can call the Salvation Army to come and get the furniture and be on our way. Only keeping here the necessities .
Workout today was 20 minutes of walking with jogging intervals and full body weights . The same as Monday .
Holy Cow it is pouring down rain and I am trying to go get a hair cut . AT least the grass is nice and green and the Honeysuckles may bloom before we leave.
I don't think that DH's mother taught him to do anything around the house .although he started working in the Golf Shop when he was about 12 . Also his Mother never worked until the boys were college age and then only to get them though college. Mother never worked or I should say outside the home cause there is plenty of work maintaining a home . Also Dad worked from home. So family was home all the time .
I'm guessing you aren't married, Bossman! Following that suggestion would not lead to marital bliss, at least in this house!
Hope you can get your haircut in today, Bama. Good luck with your packing, and have a safe trip north! Great job on the workout. DH grew up just doing outside work, no housework. I'm sure he could learn if he had to, but so far he hasn't had to.
Good morning, Chris. Sounds like your DH is pretty helpful around the house. You've trained him well!

I told Chuck about the bed and he said to me that he knew a lot of people who just pulled up the sheets and that was it...gosh I never knew as making our bed was a biggie in house, as soon as we got old enough which for me was 5 or 6 and I had to do mine. At 8 I had to change sheets every Saturday morning.
Oh Molasses as for the toothpaste and whiskers mess. While we didn't have a lot of toothpaste messes, when Chuck and I did housecleaning jobs (while we went to college....was our income as it was flexible) we couldn't get over how the men couldn't clean up after shaving. As Chuck always did. Now that his eyesight isn't what it used to be well he misses some and I can't say anything I catch some but not others as mine isn't what it used to be either. The surgery for glaucoma made close up vision terrible as I had to get reading glasses, which I never needed. In fact when I worked for the jewelry store being able to put the stuff up to nose to it, was just wonderful.
Maybe he will surprise you Molasses, and clean it up....like making the bed.
Well Molasses, remember Chuck was on his own up in Buffalo when he went to Buffalo State and had his own apartment, he cleaned cooked, etc. Once he became district manager for the Western NY area for Mutual of Omaha and had the house to himself after the divorce he had a big Shep (220 lbs) and the cats (Baby and Whitey....yeah I couldn't get over his names for his cats) he cleaned it as he had clients that came there. So he had a lot of practice LOL
In addition he didn't realize that I was such a "cleaning nut" till we moved in together, but since he went to college and I worked and his schedule was more flexible he did a lot of the cleaning and cooking. One day he came home and each time the cats had had a fight I guess as fur was all over and after the third time and then picking me up from work that day...other car was in the shop they had done it again....his Irish/Italian temper kicked him and he kicked the wall and put a hole in it...and he had to that. Remember I got Chuck....Mr. Bo Jangles (the collie/shep mix) and he had 6 cats by then, Whitey, Baby, Blackie, Little One, Tiger, and Mother Cat).
Chuck said today when I was telling him, in a lot of guys defense, they went from their mother taking care of them to their wives so it kind of made me understand better LOL
No no Bossman they aren't slutty shoes....but Goody Two Shoes for us height handicapped....that was nickname at work when I wore the corked shoes back in the 70s....however, I had the advantage of learning how to walk in "high heels" that mom wore years back. Learned from 10 years old one.
Oh and I was very short....4'9 in most of Jr High and High School and only 5'1/2 for final height LOL
Oh Chuck had cats so he had litter box duty, but I did it too. Mind you he worked with rats for research and did unspeakable things in the labs he worked. Mind you he is freaked out that I put hand in the toilet bowl to clean it. mother did it and so I did it that way.
Oh I did laugh Chris, as Chuck would NOT put a bedspread on like I do each day LOL
Thanks Chris, I was going to ask Bossman the same thing?
dad didn't do but the inside stuff either, Bama and when we were home before going overseas...I did all the cleaning and cooking for him. But he grew up spoiled rotten by grandma and married mom and got the same LOL
However he did all the lawn work (helped by me), plus all house repairs, etc.
Great workout today Bama. And sorry on the rain...I see you and had both had a snipping today.
Great walk at lunch Chris and I see you have trimmed your own. Not me...

Guilty as charged.
I am more than capable of tackling little things. I clean own mess up in the sink. I make own bed and I am not afraid of a hoover and I'm not afraid to use a toiler brush either.

Good Morning Peeps,
Last night was lovely. I walked around to the store with youngest DS. Just the dollar store, I picked up some birthday cards. For exercise I did some moving with Shaun T and Hip Hop Abs. The Hips, Buns and Thighs segment was what I did and it was 25 minutes. I don't remember doing that one before. Of course it works your abs too.
oldest son is now old enough to walk home after school. I switched hours to meet him there. I told him to not to expect to play video games the whole time and that he would have chores to do. Right now to start I am teaching him how to cook supper. Last night was macaroni, tomato and hamburger and the night before was hamburgers. He is having a blast.
Good for you Boss Man!
Sue, Dad and Granddad were spoiled ones when it came to house work too. In their defence, they worked the farm so they were always busy making a living. Dad does cook now and then and he can keep things tidy. It was seeing that they didn't help out that made me not spoil DH. He had lived on his own and could help out so I made sure it continued. BBL!
SUE!!! So sorry you are not getting your sleep! I will root for you to get the workout in but if sleep is what you need take it. Hugs!
Glad last night was nice and you got in some quality time with youngest son. We love our Dollar Tree here. I see a good workout too.
Oh so wonderful about your oldest son, Chris, that is so great...I love it.
I see like Chuck your hubby lived on his own too.
Oh dad did all of our BBQ's so he knew how to cook, but mom was fussy with the inside stuff and well she spoiled us all with her German cooking, in addition to the American stuff she cooked up too....I'd have to check spellings on so many of the great things she made.
I will Chris, thanks but I am hope even if the weight workout is too much walking will be OK.
Bama, Hi if you stop by today and HI to Dianna if she is lurking!
Well off to see if I can get 2 hours at least LOL I don't hear any snoring or guppy noises but who knows what's in store beyond the computer room door LOL
