Morning sisters,
It's shopping day so no formal morning workout but will get in a LOT of walking and evening workout will be more walking/jogging in place/dancing.
Bama good luck with getting ready for your visitors and I see a nice workout this a.m. too.
Chris, awesome workout last night. And yes, I walked, light jog in place and danced to the tunes in head LOL Since we watched Fresh Prince of Belair to finish our CSBM night of TV I had "and this a story all about how life got turned up side down......." which is a very catchy beat. It replaced Donovan that played in head all day since I heard him first thing in the a.m. LOL
FitMo I hope all is well with you this a.m.
I also hope Dianna comes to join us here.
Well off to eat, put the face on and wait for Handyride.
Sue

What a beautiful day out there! Cold but sunny and perfect for a 30 minute walk during lunch. Has me thinking about spring and that is what has me motivated this week. Just thinking of the sun and the great outdoors makes me want to get moving!
Good luck with your shopping trip Sue!! I loved Fresh Prince, I will have to see if they have it at the library.
Another great Yoga workout for you FitMo. Hee hee I see Sue is using it too. Hope you like it. I thought it was a great newish name.
Have a great day all!

Great workouts everyone, and I like FitMo tooo!!!!! Ha Ha.
Went looking for Girl Scout cookies today as they have different ones here . The place that had them was to open at 10 but at 10 30 still not opened. Maybe that was a sign that I don't need any. Just got though making Purple eggs . Had a hunger for them . Will be ready tonight . Off to do another Short workout.
Remember your body is 80% kitchen, 20 % gym(exercise) and 100% attitude.

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Good afternoon ladies,
Well it's a beautiful day today unlike yesterday where we were cloudy, damp and well not nice. LOL We get spoiled you know with those sunny days. Luckily we have more of them coming in the next several days....40s at night and 70s from low tomorrow (73) to a possible 78 3 days from now....we shall see.
Was cool this a.m., so kept sweater on and wore light but lined jacket to go SHOPPING.......as for the SHOPPING REPORT....HERE IT COMES...
First, the ride...came about 5 minutes into our window and horrors of all horrors it was THE DREADED I CAN'T READ A MAP JOE...we got on the bus and Chuck asked if we were picking anyone up first and he said no he was taking us right there. Lo and behold he went the right way, just took the "long way" there which doesn't surprise me but as Chuck said we have had several other drivers who go that way too. Regardless we got there and early so we were able to head on over to the Dollar Store....and I took off to get Chuck some birthday cards....wouldn't you know it they have cards for even stinking year's birthday except age 65....GRRRR Well the cards were 2 for $1.00 and I was able to get to nice hubby cards LOL
Chuck picked up the frames, which he came over to show me and Chuck with and I approved...they are very nice. Plus he got some batteries and sweet hubby that I have he also me another of those 7 way nail buffer...he's great. Plus he got the Colored Paper cube sheets we had been looking to replace. I found them on line years back but a heck of a lot more than only a $1 so I am doing the Yippity Skippity dance.
We paid for our stuff and off to OUR FAVORITE STORE....WINCO....we headed so ON TO THE GROCERY REPORT.....
We did take some stuff off this a.m., that we decided we could wait on so that took some money off of the total but were some things we were adding that weren't on the list, so that was alright. We didn't need a lot milk, margarine TP and those kind of things.
However, Winco being Winco....did us good in the ON SALE department again as the laundry detergent (the mega size one....188 fl oz) was on sale for $3.98...good news....good news as man Roscoe P. Coltrane would say....hmmmm almost time for the Dukes of Hazzard again....but I digress....I did take some of Christmas present money and got another of those Freeman Avocado & Oatmeal face masks again. The last one lasted me a whole year....can't beat that for $2.42 LOL
Anyhoo...the ice tea was on sale and plus I had a coupon from Lipton too. Plus had another for Country Crock margarine....35 cents off too!
And will wonders never cease the eggs were back down (18 pack) to normal prices again. Hallelujah!
Plus they had a ton of the Duncan Hines mixes so we got 2 boxes of fudgy one we had gotten last time and one of the other type they had (haven't had that one in a while, so we shall see). For hubby's b-day I will make the one we will be finishing off on Thursday. So will make a cake in the interim and on his birthday we will have cake left and then brownies so we can switch off. But on his 65th birthday he wants a brownie with vanilla ice cream...can't say anything I loved it too.
Unfortunately his Borden's American cheese took a jump but it's the big one and it lasts a long time for him so it's worth it and not much per serving with the big package.
Well we came in $12 under anyway so we are happy campers....as I say every time....WE LOVE WINCO LOL
We needed some change for Handyride but our checker didn't have it so I said to Robin when she came over to see me, as she was behind the customer desk yawning away and I yelled over ..."no yawning" LOL so she laughed .....and I said, see ya when we are done as I need some change.
So when we finished and we went over and got the quarters we needed. I did ask if she was alright and she said she didn't feel that hot and that's why she didn’t sleep. I gave her get well wishes. We made our pit stops and on our way out Robin waved and I said "see ya in 2 weeks for the big shopping....she laughed and said can't wait!"
We did our hands with wipes and outside we went to wait as even with moseying along we were early....had about 15 minutes before our window. Checked the list quickly and all looked good, so we waited and people watched and they watched us and got many hello's as people walked by along with have a nice day. One guy got out of his car shaking his head and talking and yelling and he said to whoever was there...."NO matter who they put in White house none of them have any brains to get the job done" So I told him "idiots are around everywhere and he said yes plus they are idiots too, continuing to shake his head."
Our ride came about 10 minutes into our window and one of our pals too. He actually had a drop off at Winco so he did them first, but Chuck got me on and settled and he waited till the lady in the wheel chair and her daughter/caregiver got her to push. She did ask about the sales today and I told her good ones...like the detergent and all and she said thanks.
We headed on our and John was talking about having to go get someone else, but wasn't sure where and they were out of the service area. So we had a long discussion about how they aren't supposed to do that and he said that he thinks that several of these "out of service area" people give false addresses and some are friends of Carlos too.
So Chuck and I both said since we both worked with insurance companies for years and Chuck, in fact, like we did at the insurance company I worked for "wrote policies up" and if there's an accident out of the designated area...they are s*&t out of luck if ya know what I mean.
So I asked John when is your next staff meeting and he said soon and I am already planning on bringing it up and now that I have the ammo you guys gave me that will help too.
He said I am taking you guys home first since I have 18 minutes before their window even starts and we said thank as we'd appreciate that.
So home we went, unloaded and had lunch.
Our workers were here this a.m., taking care of the equipment to get started with the painting. They did our back yard area and our front too, they just didn't do the door yet and I love the ones across the away as they have a nice brownish/red colored door and boy I sure hope they paint ours that way too....I am tired of green LOL
They didn't move the stuff and we did see the young man this a.m., and did tell him we were keeping the grey rolling cart and in fact wiped it and put a new note that stuck better on it yesterday.
The stuff is still in the backyard but I said to Chuck they could just be waiting till the end of the day and if they don't take it, so be it. We can do some toss out piece meal of the little stuff and carry some stuff a bit at time in the backyard and then ask Bravo how much to move it. In fact we told this guy he could keep or sell the exercise bike and the hand cart (just needs wheels inflated) so we shall see.
Well it's almost time for comics and a much needed nap.
Hope you had a good day and same for tonight....don't know what hubby plans to watch tonight...we shall see but in reality all we have in our cabinets are only good shows anyway LOL
See ya tomorrow.....later though as it's good dusting week...with Pledge.....
Sue

Sue, a Lady of taste it seems, which Donovan track, Mellow Yellow? Sunshine Superman, Googoobarabajagel? Hurdy Gurdy Man?
Chris, nice body weight workout, but you might want to group the relevant areas together I:E: Squats and then tag on something like Lunges, so you're getting some hamstring work in to compliment the quad work from the squats, then go for the push-ups and pull-ups.
The only slight issue might be with the triceps, because you're working the biceps and triceps with the push-ups and pullups, so you could be over working the triceps.
This is why I'd remove those from the workout, as dips can utilise your body weight, but then to add a corresponding bicep exercise means often using much less weight, often just the weight of the forearm and hand, so there would be a huge discrepancy between what you can use directly on the triceps and what you can use on the biceps with body weighted stuff.
You could replace them with something like calf raises, as you can do those at the very bottom of some stairs, where there's a nice overhang, then add those onto the end of the workout, as that's when it's best to do small muscles in a workout like the one you're doing.
Then the only other considerations are whether to cycle the workout like you're doing, effectively doing the same workout 3 times in row or keep the same workout structure, but do every exercise 3 times in a row and the workout is then done once in that day.
You may find it a little more intense doing each exercise 3 times in a row instead of cycling the workout and effectively having 10-20 minutes between each set of each exercise, depending on how long it takes you to do one cycle of the workout, but that's up ot you.
So as I say perhaps consider doing the squats, lunges, push-ups, pullups and calf raises, then decide if you want 5 exercises with 3 consecutive sets per exercise, or 1 set per exercise and 3 consecutive cycles.
Keep pushing though and be proud of your efforts, because as a person you will ALWAYS be worth it

Good Morning All,
No further workout last night. One of boys is sick, so I am moving that evening rest day from friday. I will do last nights workout on friday instead of resting.
Those are some great tips Boss Man. I think you are right on the lunges would be a good add in. That is the workout as I found it and thought I would give the circuit a try. I am more used to doing the same exercise 3 times in a row or as a superset. Thanks for the help!
Great trip Sue! Hmmm... warm fudge brownies with ice cream!!
Maybe as a treat sometime. Glad the trip went well and Joe didn't get you completely off track.
BBL!

Morning Sisters,
Workout for me this am was 30 minutes with Leslie and 30 minutes on Dreadmill. That's probably all I will do today . Sun is out so may be able to get out and start the spring yard cleaning . I know one thing we have to do is cut back the Crape myrtles when is not a fun job so it looks like I will be adding in some RLS today
Happy Thursday .

Great workout Bama, and yes our crepe myrtles are out here too...so pretty, well not in our complex yet but we saw so many great ones during out trip yesterday.

Hey All,
30 minute walk over lunch. We have a few flurries out there just to add atmosphere.
Great workout Bama! You go girl! The only thing we could cut back here are the 6 foot snow banks. Enjoy your sun.
Morning Sue! Sorry about the no sleep. Yes I was up and down too. Thanks he is doing better today and getting his energy back.
Good morning to the rest of you!

Hi, all, I ended up taking the day off since I didn't get workout in this morning. aunt seems better tonight so I am hoping that tomorrow will be more like the "old normal" than the "new normal."
Sounds like fun, Chris--a walk in the snow! Hope your little guy is all better soon. "FitMo" is pretty funny! It might motivate me to get MoFit!
Glad you had such a good trip, Sue, but sorry about the lack of sleep!
Great workout, Bama. Yup, that might have been the universe helping you to resist the Girl Scout cookies!
I was going to ask you how warm it is there, but then I decided not to torture myself! We have some really cold days coming up, with single digit temps.
Gotcha on the font size, Boss Man. I know not everyone is old and presbyopic!
I'm hoping Dianna comes to join us, too.
Sweet dreams, everyone~I'll definitely have a workout to post tomorrow!

Good Morning Sisters,
Mo Fit . I like it too . LOL.
Well It is not as warm here as I think it should do . Course we don't have the snow and ice . Tomorrow is suppose to be 61 but then a cold front is moving in . The weather is even changing in the South . cooler temps even for Florida.
Workout today Was 40 minutes on Treadmill. Plus full body strength . I even did those dreaded lunges.
Di did post on the old site today . They still haven't taken it down as I am speaking now. Face book was quite active last night . I am still on the fence about that . I will admit that there are some ladies that have come back that I don't know but probably only knew them by their Wow names. Happy Friday 13th. off to run errands.

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Good Morning All,
No workout last night. I did get the sleep I needed though. DS is doing much better, just a quick gastro bug. Thanks for the well wishes. Here is plan for the weekend Friday night: body weight workout, Saturday: Hip Hop Abs and possibly Tae Bo, Sunday: Body weight workout and most likely shovelling snow around. I posted it now I have to do it!
Great workout this morning Bama!
Nice pun FitMo! Hope you enjoyed your day off. Best of luck with your DA.
Morning Sue!
Hey Bossman I have a question. On the old board someone would normally start a new thread each week. Should we continue that trend or should we just keep the one journal open? Please let us know what you prefer. Thanks.
Well I have another parent-teacher conference to get to.
Have a great day all!

Thanks.

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Morning, Sweat Sisters, today I did a kettlebell workout from an old Men's Health: 3 sets of 4 moves: one legged deadlift, kneeling one-armed overhead press, kettlebell swings and plank walk and carry.
Glad your son is feeling better, Chris.
Great workouts, everyone!

Morning sisters,
On tap for today......Self's Tone It all- Easy Plan, Hard Body(uses a resistance band) and Evening workout walking/jogging in place/dancing
Chris, great walk yesterday during lunch. Glad your son was doing better yesterday.
Molasses, I see a day off for you yesterday, glad you DA is doing better, and I too, am hoping she's back to normal today.
Hey Bama, we got you beat yesterday, today and for the weekend as we are headed to the 70s and by Sunday 79....crazy. Sorry about the cold front. Great workout today and wow on those lunges. Or they could be friends of Barb's, Bama, as we didn't have that many.
Glad you got the sleep you needed Chris and DS is doing better too. Your plan for today and the weekend sounds great. I see you beat me to the punch on the new thread question, Chris?
Good luck at the parent-teacher conference.
Great workout today, Molasses.
Well I am off...have a good weekend everyone,
Sue
