Stretch Marks

Post by djg »

Hey all,

I've been strength training for about a month and a half now... and I've noticed some severe stretch marks, exclusively on biceps and just above arm pits on shoulders.

On biceps, it looks like many small stretches whereas on shoulders its pretty much a complete tear, showing new pinkish-red skin.

I was wondering if this is the result of doing strength training, and is it normal?

As well, can anyone recommend a way to reduce the redness of these stretch marks?

I could be yes. After all stretch Marks are just little tissue type tears, that heal as scars.

Your stretching the skin, and its happening at the same time as your doing something with the goal of getting bigger muscles. Therefore the marks are proof your goal is being achieved or there'd be nothing to stretch the skin. I've got em too on front of armpits, the back of em and on the triceps and a bit on lats. None really on the bi's though.

Hi! As a female, I know all too much about stretch marks and I can definitely reccommend you some products that work.

Mustela 9 months stretch mark cream (don't laugh, it's not only for pregnant women but it works wonders. in about 6 weeks you have such a dramatic reduction you can barely even see them!)

there's also palmer's cocoa butter stretch mark lotion that works great but virtually any lotion that is for stretch marks will work!
