Greetings! I'm David from Texas and this is first post. I've been thinking of starting an exercise and diet program for a few months, then I got an email last week regarding the Old School New Body program by Steve Holman and John Rowly. They claim to be well known names in the Fitness arena, but after buying their ebook, I can't seem to find much about this program on the net other than promotional posts and websites. Their program makes a lot of sense to me. I'm 56 and only about 10 pounds overweight. Always been reasonably active, but it's been about 10 years since I did any weight training. I previously followed the Body for Life program, and this one sounds similar, but is specifically designed for people over 35. I should mention that I have some back problems (nothing major) that I need to be careful about.
I've already made some adjustments to diet. I have not had a soft drink for 6 days. That's a big step for me as I love Dr. Pepper. I'm increasing protein intake, eliminating most sweets and eating 5-6 smaller meals a day.
I've only made it to the gym once, last Saturday. I have a hard time waking up in the morning, and no energy at night. Plus I'm away at job 11-12 hours a day. (minimum 9 hrs at work plus an hour commute each way) I'm hoping the diet change will help energy, and then get motivated to go to bed and get up earlier.
So mostly I just want to know if anyone has experience with this specific program and will discuss with me. Thanks!
Looking forward to spending some time here. I'm a forum junkie, so I can assure you I won't be a stranger here for long.
David in Texas.

Hi David, good to speak with you.
I don't know the system at all, but I would comment, not to be critical, on why you chose to solicit opinions from other after buying the material and not before

I chose to solicit opinions because I enjoy discussing things in forums. As I stated, I've been wanting to start a program for several months, and when this email came in it sounded good, so I bought the ebook (for a whopping $20) just to read it and see what it had to offer. I'm not second guessing purchase, just looking to see if others have used this program. If that email and this ebook are what got me off butt and starting to work out and change diet, then it's well worth it, even if I end up doing something completely different.

Couldn't agree more. It's about what you feel is best to help you progress and I totally admire the sentiment about you doing this, as you're making a solid statement about how you want to live your life and you deserve to be proud of your choice, just like I'm proud of your choice as well
.
I was just curious about why you asked as most people would ask about something before getting it, not actually getting it, then saying is this a good idea, but you obviously feel the system might work for you, so GOOD LUCK with it, as I don't know anything about it to be able to yay or nay the system personally, but this is your choice and we as a forum will support it, myself included

Re: Any info on Old School New Body?
Googled it just now and I've read mixed reviews about this program. For the price I think that it's a bit too expensive for what it has to offer (basing on reviews) but if you feel good about it and if you think that it's the perfect fit for your goals and your lifestyle then I am happy for you to finally have found a program.
