Training style

I was wondering is it best to switch up exercises every week or every two weeks for a muscle group. Do you get better results if you are to change up your routine by changing number of reps, lighter or heaver weight, and different exercises compared to just sticking to the same routine and just increasing your weights every couple of weeks?

Yes it is helpful in both, fitness gains and not getting bored. Although, I would say that switching of the program should take place about every six weeks. When you switch the #of reps/sets it helps to put new kinds of stress on the mucsles.... leading to easier gains and hopefully around any kind of plateaus.

Hope this helps!!!

the body will recognise and adapt to a stimulis in 6 workouts so for workout 7 you need to either increase wt, decrease rest, change up sets and / or reps or change tempo...even a slight grip / width change is enough to train a different movement pattern...weekly changes could be too much as you can't see if your actually getting stronger unless you only rotate assistnce lifts and keep core lifts the same for a the 6 workouts
