Lynne once you have healed and are feeling 100% better are you going to still go for the senior Olympics?? I know you've mentioned before doing it. Is it still a goal?? I know long off right now. :)

sister is running with her son (he's 7) in a 7k in march. made me think of you and your son running. :)

Been reading your journal too. What a blast from the past your old journal is with all the old regulars. :) I got a lot of great information and advice in there. Loved reading about your life and goals. Haven't finished yet but i'm half way through. :) Appreciate your support and encouragement. I mean that very much!

Thanks Becky! That's what is was for, to help myself and others learn how to be healthy and fit.

Yes, I would still love to do the senior Olympics. I have many goals still ahead. Ironman, marathon, senior olympics, crossfit games - lots to still achieve!

Yes, i still have some battles ahead healthwise - but doc says I am doing amazing well, and I just keep on doing everything I can do get thru this time of life, and come out healthier, stronger, and more resolved than ever to live healthy everyday. I refuse to give in or give up.
The one thing I have learned thru it all is that food is the most powerful healing force we have. Everything we need to live, thrive, and heal out bodies is in fresh, natural, plant based foods. I will from now on strive to eat the most fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, nuts and berries and cut OUT processed foods as much as I can. Processed foods are not nutrition, are not good for the body and slowly kill us over time.
We only have one life, one body - everything that we eat should be for the nourishment and continuance of our health. Plain and simple, straight up. :D
okay....off soapbox!! haha

:D Thank you Bossman :D

Workouts for the week included stationary bike interval workout with 2 sets of 12 pushups and 2 sets of planks @ 30 seconds each. Another bike workout for 15 minutes with hill climbs.

Weight is maintaining anywhere from 139 to 144.
I eat alot of fresh roasted veggies, diced fresh fruit, whole grain bread, eggs, lean meat like chicken and fish. Minimal sweets from processed white flour and/or sugar. I satisfy sweet tooth with 70% and up dark chocolate squares - just a small amount savored slowly will keep me happy and guilt free.

It's been a good week. Feeling good and doing all I can to get back fitness.

foods are good - lots of salads and fruit. Chicken breast or thighs and fish make up meat proteins. Limited beef - except for taco night...

Todays workout:
20 minutes spin bike
5 sets of 3 minute intervals: 1 minute easy spin, 1 minute harder, 1 minute very hard.
5 minutes cooldown
5 miles total. :D
heartrate stayed between 120 - 135

Is it crazy to put on a full kit bike outfit just to ride stationary bike?.....well call crazy!!   Whatever it takes to motivate yourself or make yourself feel good and get the work done - do it!!

Have a great day Shapefit peeps!!

GOOD LUCK with the surgery if you don't post again before that. strength is with you and we will remain here for you as often as you want us to be.

You're a wonderful human being, so chin up, be strong and keep believing, because you've put a lot of effort into yourself in recent years and you ARE worth it.

Well I managed to find a little extra energy this morning and did a quick interval treadmill workout
20 minutes alternating between running and walking - treadmill (been dying to run/walk to some new music I had  )
2 x 12 incline pushups
1 x 12 squats
2 x 12 tricep dips

every morning I fresh squeeze 2 cuties and 2 oranges (makes about 6 ozs) - this is a workout in and of itself!
I also make a smoothie with: spinach, celery, carrot, cucumber, apple, blueberries (handful) and also handful of frozen strawberry, raspberry, blackberries, 1 tablespoon flax meal, 1 cup coconut milk and some 4 frozen dark chocolate covered banana slices. Wow! what a powerful energy boost that is! I'm bouncing off the walls by the time I get to work

Lunch is usually a spring mix salad with grilled chicken, blue cheese crumbles, sliced strawberries, blueberries, shredded carrot, tbsp. of granola, 2 tbsp. mixed nuts and drizzled with apple cider vinaigrette.

Mid day snack: sliced apple w/pb

Dinner: chicken breast or fish fillet with avocado slices and/or roasted sweet potato.

I'm a little sore from the running and tricep dips....it's been a while since i felt that - I like it.
