Hi I'm wanting to lose a few kilos.
I've been taking dog for a 3o min walk each morning, in returning home I do 50 to 60 ab crunches and plank for all up 2 minutes and if knee isn't playing up I do some squats.
I don't eat before I start I just have a glass of water with some lemon and nothing till an hour after as I read somewhere that you shouldn't eat till at least 30 mins after your work out. question is is this the way to go?
Quick question?

The 30 minutes thing is a bit off kilter.
It is beneficial to eat within 30 minutes of a workout, because your body has what is known as a window of opportunity where protein intake for one thing can be increased and more can be untilised, bearing in mind that via insulin production from carb intake, 40% of protein can be converted into muscle glycogen to help replenish used stores.
However eating between 30-60 minutes post-workout is no bad thing as you still need the nutrients to help you recover and repair any micro tears in muscle and what you might call micro shears in bone, but certainly eating as soon as possible afterwards is best, because it would boost the recovery process, as depending on what you consumed you'd be getting more protein intake, carb intake, water, oxygen and electrolyte intake as well, which is all good.

I think you have a good start so far with walking your dog etc ..
wife likes to do her cardio first thing in the morning on a fasted stomach. She will usually sip on water with lemon made with BCAA's and Glutamine during her cardio session. When she gets back home she eats breakfast. She swears this helps her burn fat quicker, but who knows?
