Kettlebells

Post by fitchick16 »

For the last year and a half I have been doing 30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes on the treadmill in the mornings, 6 times a week. Of course, I now eat healthy. I lost 25lbs, and have kept it off for 9 months now. I am happy with weight. I started at 140 lbs and now I'm at 115 lbs :D

With that being said, I am now looking to tone up a little. I am not looking to get bulky and muscular, but I am looking to build a little muscle and notice some difference. Would kettle bells be a good starting point? What are some of the recommended exercises for Kettle bells? How many minutes should I do kettle bell workout? How many days a week should I do the kettle bell workout? Is there a recommended kettle bell weight to start with?

Thanks in advance!!

Check with your local gym or even a Martial Arts Club for kettle bell classes. If you are a member at a gym see if they offer a time when you could watch or join. Often they are used to add resistance in an aerobic manner. Perhaps you tube could add incite and the exercise section on this site has routines and examples you could watch and learn from.

Classes are a good idea so you can learn perfect form. I would start out light so you can get the proper technique down, that way your not prone to injury.
