fat loss trouble

Post by Kris181 »

Hi guys,

I'm new to these forums and i kinda came here for a last resort. so i guess i should start by saying that i'm and going on 20 have always been active through life playing sports since i can remember but never in top shape always had some fat on me especially around gut and chest, although these past 3 months I've been working hard in the gym cycling 10 miles on the bike 2 miles on the cross trainer with some thrown in weights for the chest and abs, at first i saw a little change back to what i was before going to uni, now that fitness has once returned i am finding it hard to get rid of the the last 10 kg of fat around gut and chest.

i guess i was looking for some insight into what i could be doing in the ways of exercises or diet (which in all honesty isn't even that bad). I just want a flat stomach and no moobs.

You need to be doing more in the way of weights, as doing just chest and abs could cause imbalances, if you have a weak rear core and a weak back relative to the front core and chest and those things could cause postural problems and associated pain and discomfort.

The same could occur in the arms, as some chest exercises, mainly pressing ones, stimulate the triceps, so causing a strength discrepancy between the biceps and the triceps, could cause problems with the movement of your arms.

Legs and arms and upper body should be observed, but you have differing ways of doing it.

1. A 3 day split where you train the whole body each time.

2. A 3 day split consisting of differing workouts, like legs / biceps, chest / triceps, back / biceps.

3. A 4 day split consisting of 1 lower body and 1 upper body routine, both routines done 2x a week.

4. A 5 day split consisting of different muscles on different days, so legs, chest, back, shoulders, biceps + triceps.

As for the diet, we'd need to see what times of the day you eat and what foods you eat at those times.

alright nice, well i try to eat three times a day and no more, i eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast no sugary cereal just like a bran flakes or something similar, for lunch i usually have a sandwich with chicken and mayo or along those lines, then for dinner i have a cooked meal consisting of balanced food groups meat, carbs, fat fibre and veg etc

as for the weights i think you saying i need to focus more on the weights while keeping up with the cardio? i think fitness is good enough to do current cardio each day i go to the gym and still do the weight exercises.

main concern is not the ratio of cardio to weights, but the admission you seem to be doing weights for chest and back only, hence the suggestions about 3, 4 and 5 day splits.

As for the meals you could incorporate snacks inbetween meals, so things like microwave baked beans, soup and rice dishes, peanuts, nuts, low fat cheese, carrot sticks, celery sticks, oat granolas, yoghurt pots, fruit, including tomato and cucumber, sandwiches,
packet beef, turkey, ham or chicken, cereal, pre-prepared boiled eggs, bread, etc.

Some of these repesent snack components and some represent complete snacks.
