Thanks Becky! :D Yes, I do believe Crossfit is helping me get past the plateau I have been stuck at for more reasons than one. The obvious one would be the combo of strength and cardio that every workout gives. The high intensity of it is insane and a calorie blaster. The other is definitely the diet. :D Cutting out all the processed foods, breads, pastas, crackers, snacks, chips, etc. and eating real food like veggies, fruits, meats and nuts has had a big impact on resetting body and getting it to work correctly again. I have one meal a week on Saturday night that is usually fajitas and chips and queso, but the next day I am right back focusing on food choices.
Thought I would post a progress pic:
Image
Slowly but surely I will reach original goal when I joined this site - 145 lbs
Only 18lbs. to go!!
next weeks goal: 161 :D

I've been out of town for a few days so I'm behind on journal.
A few really positive things to report:
1. Went to the beach for 3 days - did not eat a single chip, cracker, pasta, etc. :D :D
2. Ate lots of fruit, veggies, meat, nuts
3. Allowed one cheat meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. :D
4. Ran 3 miles on the beach.
5. Wore a swimsuit top for the first time in FOREVER!

Had an awesome time, felt really good.

todays workout:
Crossfit High bar back squats descending 10, 9, 8, 7, 6,..etc. to 1
burpees ascending 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6..etc to 10
for time.
So, did 10 weighted bar back squats @ 65lbs. then did 1 burpee, then 9 bar squats and 2 burpees...and so on.
It was awesome! First time I've done a weighted bar squat. :D

Hey lynne i'm a little confused on 30 day shred. Are you suppose to do it every day?? I thought you shouldn't and do it every other day. But I've been reading different things.

Wow Lynne! You look AWESOME!!!!

Once I'm on maintenance plan,( actually I have 16 lbs to go, so we are in similar situations once again,) I will need to get back to normal 5 small meals a day, like you are doing. I don't have time right now but due to the Ideal Protein program, i belong to a Facebook group that shares recipes and I have learned some GREAT veggie meals and side dishes, for example...Cauliflower Potato Salad. Stuff Green Peppers with Cauliflower rice..really yummy stuff! I don't have time now, but I'm happy to share. People who didn't like cauliflower before love this stuff!!

I'm hoping to visit more often. This retirement stuff working 4 days a week is tough...;) I'm getting hubby packed and ready to go to China for 3 weeks!! I'll be missing man, but it might allow me a little more "me" time? ;) Also, HE makes it hard for me to stay strong and not cheat. He was doing the program with me, but he's quick to eat things he shouldn't and it's hard to avoid when it's right in front of you. So, his trip should give me 3 weeks to get to where I need to be! Then, maybe I can start a diet journal...frankly it is what we put in our mouth more than our exercise program for sure!

So glad to see you are doing so well! You have always been a great inspiration to me and many, many others!!!

I've read different things too. One I kinda liked was 2 days on, then one day cardio, 2 days on, one day cardio then 1 day rest. Repeat. Whatever works best for you that challenges you.

Thanks Lu!!! So glad to hear from you! I think about you often. I'd love to see some of your Cauliflower recipes. Cauliflower rice? Who'da thought?! 8)

Went for a night time trail run last night with a group of friends, using a headlamp. I did fine until mile 4 when I tripped over a root and went flying. I landed on right shoulder and ended up on back on top of the stupid root! Thankfully the girl just ahead of me heard me fall and came back to help me. It really hurt, ugh. I have a lump on shoulder (deltoid) and it is turning a nasty blue/black color, and back is sore right between shoulder blades. :x
We were all practicing for a night time trail race this Saturday night. I have to say if I had known what is was going to be like I would NOT have signed up for the race. It's too hard to see the roots, for me. I even wore glasses - but I can't see the roots barely in time to avoid them. I have to go really slow, which leaves me alot of the time by myself - not good.

Oh well, on to more positive news.....
162 yay!!
