There is a train of thought that protein shakes before workouts can be okay. Something to do with Arginine effects on Blood or something.
Also the Sugar source like Maltodextrin, could possibly reduce Bloodsugar reductions, meaning possible faster recovery post-workout, if that is so.
I still advocate though that a shake afterwards is a tried and trusted method, so I see no reason to necessarily favour a shake pre-workout over post-workout.
I used to drink protien about two hours before workout and I started seeing much better results within 4 weeks of starting the protein.
Maybe the same methods dont work for everyone.
Oh indeed. I never said don't ever drink one pre-workout. Everybodies different, peoples bodies are unique, so there's always going to be some people that in certain regards, buck a trend.
I drink protein shakes immediately after workout (whey) and right before bed (casein). If for some reason I can't get solid food during the day (days when life gets in the way ), I may squeeze in another whey shake.
