I'm seeing more and more beta-guys at gym

Post by fitgirl87 »

So Just in the past couple of weeks Ive seen two incredibly cringe-worthy beta moments ....

First - Saw a really skinny dude (like serious chicken legs and noodle arms) apparently attempting to do some cable curls badly enough that a woman working out next to him went over to show him the right technique. She's doing these curls in front of him with these really well developed arms giving him running dialogue on what he should do. And this guy just watched and thanked her. The woman looked ... like disgusted with his wimpiness. He was nodding his head and smiling oblivious to being as pathetically beta as i have ever seen ...

Second- saw a female trainer I know (husband in airforce/just won first in amateur figure contest) and shes training this total weakling ... like mid thirties ... never worked out ever. In this one shes trying to show him how to squat ... demoing for him with only 25 a side and has to reduce the weight for him ... very sad to watch ...

Shape of things to come???? I fear the answer is a big yes ....

So if I understand you right, you think the future will be full of subserviant males, or just men with limited ability to think or act for themsleves?

If so it's an interesting theory, but I could never subscribe to it.

One note I would make is that I subscribe to the theory that everyone should exercise more, so in a way, its good that the needlenecks are going to the gym. I've been lifting something or other for most of life so I can't necessarily identify with a grown man not knowing how to navigate a gym. But I have been in a position where I was new at something and felt very insecure about it, and I've tried to go out of way to be friendly and encouraging to people who may be just starting out with weights because hey, lifting is awesome and more people should do it
