Weight loss/Exercise trouble

Post by ZaWness »

Hi everyone,

I am sure posts like this are posted every day and could be quite bothersome. I was hoping for some valuable advice/comments about personal problem I am having with weight loss.

1 year ago I weighed 180 pounds and was very chubby as I am only 5'7. I started working out about a year ago daily, and workouts always consisted of running.

It has now been a year and body has transformed and I currently weigh 145 pounds, and workout intensity has risen substantially. I workout once every morning and night, running 3 miles on the treadmill on top of 40 minutes of circuit lifting and heavy lifting every time I go to the gym. Up until about 2 weeks ago I noticed weight rise a half pound or a full pound which doesn't make sense to me. I eat a healthy greek yogurt and fruit in the morning, nice healthy chicken salad for lunch, maybe a handful of nuts for a snack during the day, then something like a turkey sandwich on whole wheat for dinner. I have been doing this every day and it confuses me that I am gaining a little bit of weight. After I do cardio, I do tons of high rep low weight lifting, which leads to question: Is body gaining muscle which is leading me to gain some weight? I know you don't gain muscle that quickly but I have been doing consistent muscle building for about 3 months now.

Any insight would be of GREAT help and is highly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Work hard play hard!

Simple change to things. Try high weight low rep, not high rep low weight. High rep low weight stuff makes little impact and is very often a waste of someones time results wise, females included too.

This might add a bit more muscle, depnding on calorie intake of course, but as 1lb of added muscle, burns an extra 45-50 calories per day, that would be okay as well for that reason, although by now your fat level is probably nothing to be concerned with anyway.
