I really want to know how much protein I need. I know I haven't been getting enough but I m planning meals and am not sure how much to add. I am obese at the moment 300 pounds and 5'7". I am very active and work two jobs plus have an online toys store. I am always moving and don't get enough rest some days. I wonder if stress causes one to need more protein and also I am wondering if I need more than the 1 gram per lean body weight since I am obese. Do I need more to support the other tissues on body in addition to the lean mass. The extra skin and tissues to support that extra weight needs protein and nutrients also? I know I am going to have to eat less calories to lose weight and only what I need for goal weight of 150 pounds but do I need the extra protein and nutrients to support the extra weight while I am losing so I am not deficient? last time I had blood work b-12 ws low 200 although I was eating some meat.
I thought about experimenting with it and seeing how I feel but I don't want to go over board. What do you think and what are your experiences. Anyone?

Most people need around 0.8-1.2g per lb and certainly no more than 1.5g per lb.

isin't that boss of what your ideal weight would be not your obese weight?? this person is 300 pounds.. Neat that you have an online toy store by the way.

Yes it is, so it was mistake to overlook that.
I'll put it down to not being compeltely compus mentis for the last 2-3 days, os head is working a little less well at the moment.
Yes, ideal weight is the measure for such workings.
He could just work it out by halving his weight and going from there.

thanks so it is 1-1.2 for 150 pounds goal weight and not protein for current weight? big difference.
