whey protein for diabetic?
Anyone know any whey protein that is suitable for diabetics that can be purchaed in the UK, all the ones iv tried have raised blood sugar to levels such as 25 and 30.
Difficult, as most Whey Proteins contain something like Maltodextrin, which is high GI, and can elevate Bloodsugar up after workouts, after it's dipped.
Possible alternatives.
1. Soy protein powder + small quantity of Lucozaze, should such powder lack simple Carb content I.E. Maltodextrin.
2. Nutrisport "Protein 90+ Vegan", made from Vegetable sources, followed by a small quantity of something like Lucozade. Same reason as stated above with Soy.
3. Several Egg whites,+ 1 Yolk Scrambled, and quantity of Lucozade.
Lucozade doesn't have to be the Bloodsugar elevator, as you could try a small quantity of something like Powerade, Gatorade, Grapejuice etc etc. A quantity of simple Sugar, you can control.
Whey Proteins often have a fixed quantity per scoop, which obviously isn't beneficial for you to ingest.
