Fitness Bracelet?

Hey, guys and girls
I wanted to ask the "fitness community" before putting money into this bracelet. I was told by a co-worker about another funding project (like kickstarter) that he put to help him track his fitness. I'm kinda skeptical about the product but looks intriguing. Can anyone tell me if this is a good buy or just track fitness on own?
