can running help with muscle defination along with high reps/low weight? im looking to get a well define body (especially abs) onced iv gained some muscle

the two biggest myths out there...no and no...diet wil define better than anything...high reps can actually decrease muscle mass, same with cardio

so would cardio be a waste if time for me becasue if im trying to bulk up will i just lose muscle? however how will i able to get a 6 pack?

you get a 6 pack through clean food, not cardio...that being said you'll find it hard to get a 6 pack and build muscle at the same time but if your as thin as i think than you proabably just need to build the actual abs up and you should see something...that also being said, heavy compound exercises will do that so don't worry about crunches and such

so should i carry on what im doing with weights or change them to show 6 pack? also if i did ab crunches would there be any point at all or just a waste of time?

i think i've suggested some wts stuff for you so use that...no don't add crunches they are worthless

They are? What ab exercises aren't worthless then?


Also, could you explain to me why crunches are worthless?

i though ab crunches or any ab exercise would strength abs so they can be seen

- your better off doing leg and knee raise variations and above all stabilisation exercises such as prone ab braces...the ab's or to be more specific the core muscles, function is to stabilise the lumbar spine...crunches don't do this, neither do leg/knee raises but at least your training in a way that is posturally and mostly injury risk free...also most people are kyphotic (trounded shoulders) from sitting at computers all day and crunches just reinforce the same position
