Side effects of working out at 14

Post by Lukep78 »

Hey, and thanks for everyone's time.
I'm 13 (nearly 14), and have been working out for a very long time with large barbells from 35-60LBS.

What I want to know is are there anynegative effects of working out so young? I heard something about "growth stunting" or your bones becoming weaker.

I'm really short for age but very strong.

Thanks in advance,
Luke

Bones won't become weaker unless you consume poor levels of Bone nutrition, like Phosphorus, Magnesium, Vit D, Calcium, Vit K2, Boron etc etc.

You may get issues with Bone damage, i you lift too much weight, as the muscles may take it, but your Bones won't fully develop until you're 17, so overloading tme too much could be bad for them.

I don't think that will cause your bones to become weaker. Just have the right foods also along with the exercises you've been doing.

Stunted growth is a fallacy unless you take steroids while still developing. Ideally you should've been doing high rep workouts when you were younger. At this point you should be fine just remember to cycle your workouts with off days. Don't work a body part more that twice a week with at least 3 days in between. I like working body systems so chest and back same day, biceps and triceps, etc.
