What sort of pain do you experience when you flex the bicep; is it a stabbing style pain, shooting style pain, sharp style pain?
Does the area have a lot of bruising in it?
Have you been using any NSAIDS since and are you icing it at least 4 times a day, for around 15 minutes a time?
You can sometimes get little popping noises in the joints, which are usually pockets of nitrogen busrting, so maybe the noise you heard and the event, are not necessarily directly related, but maybe coincidental.
It wasn't a crunching sound, so I would say you haven't done anything to a joint, but you may have done damage to one or more tendons as the bicep has 3 tendons as you probably are aware, two at the top end connecting to the heads and one at the bottom connecting to the elbow area.
The problem is knowing if you damaged the bicep, one or more tendons or both.
Certainly the NSAIDS and icing would be a prudent course of management for the situation, but I would suggest you see a physician because a scan may be needed to identify the extent of the problem, because any possible swelling, bruising and as you say a dent like appearance to the bicep, are not to way of thinking, cast iron indicators of a specific outcome and more investigation may be needed, to identify what has happened, in order to tailor the treatment regime more effectively.
