need help with the diet plan

Post by fbplaya02 »

Im trying to lose weight by doing insanity, I just wanted to know if diet is in the right spot. Im doing 5 meals a day, high fiber! carbs/protien/fat ratio, is a about 1/1/1. I believe it comes out to 1700 calories

Meal 1, crunchy oat cereal + 2% milk, drinking the milk.
meal 2, Avocodo, fat free yogart, Whole wheat bagel.
meal 3, 6in, subway BMT on Wheat no cheese.
meal 4, "meal 2"
Meal 5, 1 lb of talapia or chicken breast
meal 6 'late night snack', carrots and celery.

Im take a one a day and GNC ripped vita pack for any lacking nutrition.

is this enough food to keep metabolism from ceasing?

Meal 1, crunchy oat cereal + 2% milk, drinking the milk.

(good but you could add a bit of turkey, ham, beef, chicken or eggs in there for more protein.)

meal 2, Avocodo, fat free yogart, Whole wheat bagel.

(Fine)

meal 3, 6in, subway BMT on Wheat no cheese.

(Fine)

meal 4, "meal 2"

(Fine)

Meal 5, 1 lb of talapia or chicken breast

(triple that and add some veggies and / or a mixture of what I call savoury fruits, like tomato, cucumber, aubergine, (eggplant), chillies or marrow, to get some carbs.)

meal 6 'late night snack', carrots and celery.

(Fine, but you could increase the protein with a bit of chicken or ham something like that.)
Those modifications should give you a little more protein, to protect muscle and keep you feeling fuller for longer, the carbs in dinner should help with energy levels and the added calories per day should help to fuel exercise hopefully promote more long tern weight loss.

that yogart seems to have a lot of simple sugars, should I drop that? tripling the dinner meat and adding would put protein intake over 300 grams per day?

The yoghurt is fine.

mistake I got confused between a lb and an ounce. 3.5Oz, (100g), chicken is 30g protein. I'm not sure where head was last night, when I effectively recomended a 3lb chicken intake as that would be around 450g Protein for Dinner.

You're eating about 150g protein for dinner so cut back by around 1/5 which is 30g Protein with dinner and then you would have effectively 120g chicken Protein left of your previous allocation, so if you added 30g into the two meals that I suggested need more Protein, you could save the remaining 60g of unused chicken protein for the next day.

mistake on the original suggestion, I don't know why I confused a lb with an Oz.

You have a well-planned meal. This will surely keep you healthy. I don't think you should drop the yogurt. A little sugar in it is enough.
