Hi Guys. I have been thinking of alternatives to the gym and have come up with a combination of adjustable weights and a heart rate monitor watch:
Powerblock Sport 9.0 Stage I Set 5-50 lbs

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

aim is weight loss. The monitor also counts calories burned. I can try and do some jogging with this on which would replace the gym treadmill/elitical cardio. I will need to do strength workouts with the powerblocks that dont require a bench. I live in a small apartment which is why i can only have powerblocks.
So guys, is this combo a viable alternative to a gym membership and one I think ill have an easier time sticking to or it is simply not enough?

Weights workouts at home can certainly be a viable workoiut, if you have at least a Bench as well.
As for Monitors, you need to remember they're just a guide and don't set any store in what they say, just use what they show as ballpark figures.
