You still could do it though even if you can't do the events on tuesday. I think the prize last time was 250 mlt bucks if you were the woman winner of your club. the grand prize national winner for both men and women last time won something like 5,000 cash national prize. i could be wrong on that but i think that's right. Might be a nice motivator?? Totally up to you though.

so what are you doing with team fitness Christina with the strength training? are you learning much about strength training then and using dumbells or more weight machines? I might try a team fitness class during the competittion if i decide to do the competiion just to see what it's about. :)
we have been using the machines, dumbbells, treadmills, medicine ball, squats and planks(i have major rug burns on elbows from the floor. next time i will grab a mat)....both the team weight loss and team fit are so small because of summer, that friday they decided to just combine them until the next round of 12 weeks. which is pretty cool because of more one one one training. there was only 3 of us last friday. next week they are re-flooring the whole upstairs so we are meeting downstairs to use the gym. i would assume if and thats a big if, the weather is cooler, we will take it outside instead. the only thing i really hate are planks and burpees. they are weak points because of flabby stomach lol.

i will thank about joining. it might be worth it for the 5ks. i will think about it this week and investigate some more. i love that the halloween one you come in costume! that would be fun (as long as its a easy comfortable one of course. lol i'll dress like an Olympic runner lmao!)

i don't mind planks so much but i hate anything that has to do with stomach too. Crunches are a no go in book. It's just to hard. So i probably wouldn't like burpess either. anything has to do with a stomach exercise is hard to do at weight i know that. :(

nice that you have such a small group!! that really does provide quite a bit of one on one. i think group has 6 or 7 people in it. i didn't see the mention of a halloween costume, i'll have to look again. I'm so boring. I probably wouldn't do that one and skip it. :)

since there was work being done on the upper level of the gym, we went into the cycle studio downstairs. holy crap! first time doing it, and calves hate me. lol it was good to change things up though. we will be doing it again Wednesday i don't know what is planned for Friday. i really did enjoy it though. we had a larger group today which was nice. we had about 5 of us.

The naughty side of me is saying, that if you went to the halloween thing and everyone else came in costume and you were dressed as normal, some people might think you were actually blending in for once

The more tactful side of me overrides the naughty side and confirms a complete lack of validity in the previous statement :P.

Nice Boss! Funny, your comments remind me of something mom would say to me. it strikes me as funny and annoying all in one, just like when mom says something. :P

Christina do you think you will try a spin class now? Hope you don't mind asking but did your tush hurt at all?? I think calves would bug me too. Glad you got to try it out. Sounds fun and a nice way to get you to try something different!

oh ya, it still hurts bc the seat is ridiculous. I dont know who designed that damn thing. I will do it bc I have to with team, but by choice, I won't. if the seat was comfortable then I would be all over it.

Yeah i tried it a couple years ago and i wasn't comfortable either. They are having a spin class for the challenge that i might try though. i know its a great workout if you can get use to the uncomfortablness. I think they must have different things for each club because i didn't see anywhere any mention of a halloween costume.

I've used a spin bike 2 or 3 times before and the seats in genreal are not too bad, though I've used better, but i might just be right now the level of weight you're both carrying. when you get even more slim, you might find losing more weight of the buttocks might slightly improve the feel of a spin bike seat, so you could learn to like using one more.

I will soon be under going some big changes again in life both good and bad. good news is I am in the process of getting fist place! a cute little apartment closer to school and work. now here's the bad news. I have to drop work out class because I can't afford it anymore once I move. I may not even be able to keep the membership either because of what I will he spending on gas. I will find out in a few days if I get approved for the place and the move will take place in September. I do have the option to pay 10.00 for a month to keep the membership and not use it so after first month at place I can see where I am financially to determine to drop it or not. I don't want to because I created a trusted friendship with the staff and I am seeing results. I have looked to see what gyms will he near place and online all have bad reviews. I'm really nervous on what the outcome will be. I figure once I move I will go to the gyms and check them out self to determine what to do. I'm just filled with mix emotions right now. I was struggling on own, then again I have learned so much over the past few months that I can continues to loose but at a really slow pace is what I am afraid of. when I find out for sure about the place and research the gyms I will tell u more.

That is good and bad news. I would defintiely go to other gyms and see for yourself what they are like. I read bad reviews of la fitness but i joined that one for a few months and i really liked the one near house. It was clean, not busy and really cheap! membership was 30 bucks a month which with a pool and a really nice gym and classes offered you can't beat that! I still might go back to that gym once weight loss class is over just to save money! The YMCA might be an option too they are really reasonable and will work with you depending on what you can afford. LIfetime is one of the most expensive gyms around at least the one near house is! It is a beautiful gym but it is spendy! the weight loss program is really nice and definitely helps with encouragment and motivation. but the truth is for both of us the desire has to come from within. You've been doing this for 4 or 5 months and you have learned a lot. I think you will be successful either way. I hope it works out with whatever you decide to do chirstina!

What is the importance of this move per se? Is it vitally important because of issues with your current situation, or because it makes commuting to work easier thereby freeing up more personal time, or is it nearer to people that you consider to matter to you?

I ask, as if the ability to move and retain your current training circumstances, becomes untenable, then if there is not a huge amout of emphasis or imperative connected with the move, perhaps continuing with your current domestic setup might be fesible, if it means retaining a training situation, that may potentially be superior and more progressive, than what you would have to do post-move.

Whatever the outcome of this situation, I'd like to let you know I will be 10,000% behind it and I hope the best outcome and resolution occurs for you, because I want you to have the best life you can live emotionally, mentally and physically and no matter what happens to you, or where you move to, I will be going nowhere and will still be here for you, for as long as you wish :).

GOOD LUCK and best wishes.

You have the tools to be successful :) Good luck with your gym search.

Gas is a big deal in the States, isn't it? I see it referenced in the forums a lot. Stupid, expensive, dinosaur bones!

Isn't it in canada? The problem here is that a lot of people drive suv's so it's costly. People with pickups they have to spend $100 dollars a week i bet at least! I think next year they will be talking about groceries being expensive. Corn hasn't been good this year so they say that's going to make prices go up in 6 months in pretty much everything. problem with that is usually when they go up they don't go back down as far as i can tell. I think groceries are already expensive.
