I drink a lot of pop during the day. I used to drink Diet Coke but the caffeine stimulates your hunger so I switched to Diet Caffeine Free but I am starting to wonder if drinking these stimulate hunger as well. I am also diabetic, does drinking Caffeine Free Diet do anything to blood sugar?
hey mate im also diabetic and i found that caffeine free increased blood sugar but since im a diet for bulking up im cutting out almost all fizzy pop, i drink water, flavoured or not, milk, or dilouted water
Artificial sweetners can have a very small impact on blood sugar. If you think it is stimulating your hunger you could try decaf tea or just water with lemon.
yeah me too, this is only third day and iv had no choclate biscuits, no crisps and no pop but think maybe after 4 days you will become used to it and not crave it as much as you would normally.
if u like drinking soft drinks alot just try to slowly let them go.. like say u drink 5 a day try to cut them 1 a week so in little over a month your done drinking them.
i quit drinking them about 7months ago and what i did is drink lots of water and tea (green tea to) if u dont like the taste of water wal-greens as these little packets (sugar-free) pour them into 16oz of water and u got lemonade or grapeade whatever flavors they got. they actually don't taste like there sugar free. its like $1 for 10 if u get the no name brand which taste the same to me. i tend to get the $5 fo 50 and that last me like 4months but i drink alot of water just how it is.
I am a big diet coke addict ( ). I read this a while ago and I still haven't quit using drinks/foods containing asparatame. Thought you might want to read on the dangers. Splenda is also not the miracle guilt free sweetner that we all think it it either.
I found a site run by a Doctror Eric Walters, a sweetner expert, who claimed it was safe.
I also heard of someone called Patti Martini, a protagonist about the dangers, and when I mailed her some weblinks to sites that say it's safe, and asked her opinion, she never got back in touch.
That was about 5 months ago. Doctor Walters got back in touch with 48 hours. I personally think anybody who rants about the dangers, but won't back up their rants with reasons why, is not compleetly trustworthy on said issue.
That's like someone saying I don't like Al Gore,
Person 2 why?
Person 1, I just don't.
You wouldn't start to dislike someone, based on that fact someone else did for no reason, so why rant about something being dangerous then not back it up, it just looks like scaremongering.
I did not know carbonation made you hungrier. but off topic I heard that one of the main ingredients in soft drinks is aspartine and it could cause cancer. its not yet confirmed though.
I think that moderation is the key. Slugging back a six pack of diet coke is obviously overdoing it. Just like anything else, keep it balanced, cut out the crap 95% of the time and all is well.
BTW, if you read up on what causes cancer, just about everything does, food, air, water, cell phones, take your pick.
all I know is i drink over a 6 pack of diet coke a day im addicted to the stuff and if i don't have one for a few hours i have withdrawal and get headaches and feel sick. but If ths is true i might cut back
That's like me with coffee, if I don't get one in the a.m., I'm not a happy camper. Sounds gross, but limit yourself to 1 can a day, and when you start to feel withdrawl, take a quarter of a can and mix with perrier.
