Measure with a tape measure instead of scale?

Wouldn't measuring yourself with a tape measure be a "true" way to find out if you've lost fat and are toning up? Obviously, if you measure in the same spot each time? Like the biggest part of your hips, thighs, button? I was just thinking of an alternative since the scale can be deceiving...

I am bummed with them but I will still do them on Saturdays... I'd like to find some alternatives to do on other legs/bottom half day. How about BB deadlifts, burpees? I work out at home and don't have the machnes to do alot of stuff. I just have hand weights. On the weekend, I am able to go to fian...

Sat 4/7 - went to gym w/fiance (I normally workout at home)

Legs

-Seated leg extension
4 sets 15 - 90 lbs

-Hamstring curl (machine)
4 sets 15 - 90 lbs

-Barbel Squats
4 sets 15 - 20 lbs

-Seated leg press
4 sets 15 - 50 lbs

Treadmill - 15 min jogging

The weekend was a bust.... especially with the Easter holiday so I'm not even going to bother posting terrible eating habits.

I live in a pretty hilly area and I have been riding bike outside since the weather has been awesome. What does this "count" as? I'm assuming - cardio, however, I really get a good leg workout going up those hills. I can really feel it in quads. How much is this working legs and butt? Can ...
