Re: tummy fat loss
Also, no need for gym. You can take care of all your needs at home, with minimal equipment. Second hand book stores and libraries will provide good reading materials and dvds for free or very cheap, as well, as can this place and many other on line sites.

Re: tummy fat loss
Interval cardio workouts and strength training, in short. Watch your calories, also, of course. What is your fitness background?

Re: Feeling bad a few hours after stationary bike
Like, Scott, a carb issue came to mind as well. Try having some fruit with protein shake before and after the cardio workout, small amounts of each. Also, try using lots of cinnamon in your meals or shakes, as it naturally can help regulate blood sugar levels.

Re: some advice?
Foods that are easily portable and pretty much non-perishable help out quite a bit with that. Raw nuts, seeds, healthy trail mixes, fruits, protein bars, things of that nature are easy to take with you and provide good calories, especially for an on-the-go lifestyle. Raw almonds and sunflower seeds,...

Re: Workout Abs Everyday?
Liked what Boss said. It's a gray area and depends on how you're working them. From a general standpoint, I wouldn't recommend working them every day if you're training them with heavy weights and volume, but if you train them with low volume and only bodyweight, eg, 3 sets of weightless crunches or...

Re: Thoughts on frequent feeding
Boss- about the Japanese and smoking- several studies have them ranked fairly high on the list from a world-wide standpoint. One such link: http://lungcancer.about.com/od/causesoflungcance1/f/lungcaparadox.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Turns out they smoke their fare s...

Re: Thoughts on frequent feeding
Boss- yes, "sensibly" is the key word. I haven't had any physical work ups regarding cholesterol or bone density, although that is probably a good thought. diet consists primarily of lots of fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, some grains, meats, dairy, whey powder, flax and fish oils, plus a mu...

Re: average food intake.....Please advise
Shamefully concise answer on changing a workout routine every two weeks- it depends on what your goals are. Huge gray area. If one is looking to build strength/size, I'd advocate sticking to the same exact exercises for several weeks or months at a time, mainly because the body first responds to the...

Re: Thoughts on frequent feeding
Arkansas- It's not about eating two lone meals a day. It's about eating very small amounts of whole foods throughout the day and a single large meal at night. Oranges. Raw Almonds. Sunflower seeds. Water. Greens. Yogurt. Then a big meal at night. Tons of people do it, including myself, and are extre...

Re: Thoughts on frequent feeding
I think it is very interesting to note that the hunter gatherers of ancient times were of the same average height that people are today... yet they didn't have any access to modern conveniences, e.g., hospitals, pre/post natal care, electricity, municipal sewer/water treatment plants, ad infinitum- ...

Re: Thoughts on frequent feeding
"Skeletons from Greece and Turkey show that the average height of hunter-gatherers toward the end of the ice ages was a generous 5' 9" for men, 5' 5" for women. With the adoption of agriculture, height crashed, and by 3000 B.C. had reached a low of only 5' 3" for men, 5' for wome...

Arkansasrob- Modern medicine has certainly increased life span, a given. And sure, humans adapt- but if you are referring to natural selection and/or descent with modification, such adaptations take several handfuls of millennium to occur- not just a few hundred years. Let me repeat, our species hun...
