Question on workout

I have often heard people saying that you should change your workout routine at a regular interval else your body stops responding or the weight loss process becomes lower. I just wanted to understand how that happens... if ts true. If I am still doing the same excercise then it should burn the same...

In order to meet protein requirements (around 110gms, I weigh 154 pounds) i take whey protein shake twice a day.One right after workout and second I usually take around 7 in the evening...around 4 hours before i got to bed.. Thanks Bossman...that makes sense. But let me re-phrase question...is it advisable to take prtoien shake twice a day? I take one in the morning after workout (around 9 AM)... work hours are really 10 AM to 10 PM (not officially but I end up working that much :) )...given weight I am suppose to take ...
