weight loss has slowed substantialy

I started at 236 and after about 2 months of super strict dieting and cardio/weight routines I've almost hit a dead stop at 217 lbs. I do 30 minutes of stationary bike Monday, Elliptical Wednesday, and treadmill on Friday with full body workouts tues/thurs/sat. I've given serious consideration to up...

Crunches replacement

I absolutely despise crunches. So much so that in workout routine I usually end up skipping them, knowing that I need to do them, I just always put them off. legs usually always come off the floor if I'm not using a couch to hold feet down, and if I'm using the couch I feel like I'm using too much o...

Stationary Bike or Treadmill?

I've been doing HIIT on the treadmill for the past 2 months, and I've gradually had worse and worse ankle pain during and afterwards. I only do 30 minute sessions. I switched over to the stationary bike a week ago (HIIT 3x a week), and I've noticed that I feel much more accomplished and worked after...

Thanks so much for the quick replies. I personally don't believe dehydration is the issue. I work in a body shop with a paint booth running at 150 degrees and all the doors open for 10 hours a day. I drink 3 cups a water on average every 45 minutes or so all day long. At home I'm a drink a'holic (I ...

Frequent headaches

Lately (since I started eating better and working out), I have been getting frequent headaches before bedtime and when getting to work in the morning. coworkers seem to think it's because I'm not eating enough. I'm eating (trying) to eat 6 times a day. I'm not really calorie counting, but I should b...

You could eat at 6 or 6:30 and go to the gym at 8? Does that Ceasar Salad have Ceasar dressing on it by any chance? Not the best if you are trying to lose weight. Better to use a light dressing - Paul Newman has some really tasty ones, favorite is the Light Rasberry Walnut. I suppose we could alway...

Usually whole wheat pasta (spaghetti, pasta salad), chicken and rice, chicken stir fry, chicken ceasar salad, etc. Last night the gf didn't get home until 6:30, we didn't make it home from the gym until 8pm, had to go grocery shopping, didn't get home until 9:15 or so, and didn't eat until 10pm. It'...

Eating too late.

I work long hours and do not get home until about 5pm. I wait for girlfriend to get home at 6 so we can hit the gym together. I use the hour before she gets home to prep food and stretch out a little before working out. Of course, we work out until about 7pm, and food usually isn't fully prepared un...

Smart Balance peanut butter actually has a good portion of Flax oil in it. I usually eat a peanut butter sandwich for lunch using the stuff. It doesn't taste the greatest, but I'm not doing this for enjoyment :P

Before we put this down to beginners ache we should definitely rule this out.
Well, the small gym I use doesn't have a set of barbells, so I have to use dumbbells which make it a bit awkward. I very well could be doing them wrong.

Thanks a ton for the quick reply. Was hoping to get a response before tonight. The lighter weight tip really helps alot, as I would have attempted to use the same weight tomorrow.

Sore muscles, small problem

I have just started doing weight training. I did first full body workout Saturday. I have Sundays off, and today being Monday, I do HIIT cardio today. The muscles above knee's are really sore (from squats), and I foresee it effecting cardio today. Before the workout Saturday I did about 6 minutes wo...

Full body workout on a budget.

I'm looking to do a full body workout to lose some pounds 2 days a week in between cardio days. I don't have any barbells, but the small gym at apartment complex has a large dumbbell set and a bench. Anyone have a routine that I could follow 2 days a week using what little I have available? Thanks a...

5m warmup
1m fast
2m rest
1m fast
2m rest

5m rest
20m medium pace
3m cooldown
