If it makes you feel better I do stuff like that with a decent amount of carbs!!
Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
Two choices.
1. Try explaing to the guy what's going on, so he understands and doesn't make arsey comments about stuff he knows nothing about.
2. Ignore him, because he may be a chump that wouldn't get it, if you told him 5 times back to back.
Or you could ask him how he eats, then pick a zillion faults in his habits. I bet he gives you some kind of way in there, like some kind of occasional biscuit thing or a persistant Ice cream weakness. Something to pull the proverbial rug from under his feet with.
Out of those though, I'd opt for ignoring him. Guy sounds like a Deadhead and no I don't mean a fan of the old Californian band the Greatful Dead

Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
Thank you all for your kind words and encouragment. As for the jerkwad at the gym... I'm going to choose to let that last comment slide. If he says something else I'm going to pull him aside and nicely (well as nicely as possible) inform him that while I appreciate his obvious concern regarding choice of lifestyle and hobbies, it really is none of his business and he can keep his opinions to himself.
Ignoring him is really not an option because he makes these comments in spinning class and does so in a very loud manner. It is very disrespectful and leads other members to think that I'm doing something that is unhealthy or questionable. Many don't understand the bodybuilding thing and when he makes comments about me "needing to eat" others think that I have an eating disorder (been there, done that, no thanks) or that I'm starving myself. The reasons that I got into bodybuilding are because I love it and I love to help others and the bodybuilding allows me to change body and inspire others to take charge of their own health along the way. I certainly don't want his comments to lead people to believe that what I'm doing is unhealthy or questionable. As a result I will ignore his last comment and address him if he makes another. If he makes another comment in front of the class I plan on giving a little bodybuilding 101 lesson to inform people of exactly what it is that I'm doing just in case they do have the wrong idea. Bottom line with this dude is that he has NO FREAKING clue what it is that I'm doing. He simply sees me losing weight and automatically assumes that I'm starving myself. He is ignorant and jumps to conclusions instead of asking questions to understand what i'm doing. Ugh!

Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
Time for an update....
Saturday I was 2 weeks out from the first show. I took progress pics and will get them posted tonight. I have been really bad about taking progress for this pics and as a result have been a bit a unsure about whether or not I would be ready in time for first show. After seeing the pics I realized that I'm much more ready for this show than I was for the first show last season. I was pretty excited when I compared the pics! The big show is 5 weeks away... well actually less than 5 weeks now... so I'm beginning to become more confident for that show.
diet at this point is pretty darn strict. On Friday I cut out all forms of artificial sugars to give myself 2 weeks to flush out system. I know I know (les i'm waiting for you to chime in and tell me how bad those are) that aspartame and splenda are realllly bad for me and do best to avoid them as much as much as possible. I do tend to rely on chewing gum pretty heavily when i have a sweet tooth and also eat sugar free jello at night when i'm having hard core cravings for sweets. As I've friday those are all gone. Saturday and Sunday were BRUTAL as I was having some very intense cravings. I snacked on asparagus all day instead. So diet at this point consists of oats (thank GOD for oatmeal), eggwhites, whole eggs, fish (tilapia, tuna, cod, clams), chicken breast, asparagus, lettuce, mushrooms, zucchini, and salsa. Oh... and mustard. I love me some mustard! Next week will look much like this week however I'll be tapering carbs until two days before the show then bringing them back up the day before the show.
As has been the case for the past few months workouts are still very hit and miss. Saturday I was able to get in a great leg workout, then Sunday workout was beyond crappy, then this morning I did an upper body workout just sticking to machines (didn't want to chance the free weights in case I hurt myself), and in about 30 minutes I'll be heading back for afternoon cardio. Hope I have a decent amount of energy.
I suppose thats all I know today. I hope everybody had a wonderful weekend and is doing well today!

Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
As in he has a crush on me? Hes old and married... well older than me anyways by a good 30-40 years. I don't really think there are any excuses other than hes ignorant and thinks he knows everything.brentyboy wrote:Or maybe...just maybe...
And sorry if this is a little grade 6-ish here - well, wait a minute, probably more like a grade 7 move...
He is just trying to get your attention????
...well...?
Am I oversimplifiying basic human physiology here?
Don't overlook the obvious.
Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
huh....I was thinking the whole crush thing too, but if he's that much older, he's probably just ignorant about what your doing, and may be genuinly worried about you. I had an oldish friend of mine at the campground this Summer tell wife and I not to lose anymore weight, he said it was unhealthy, and that we looked good as we were. Maybe a little edumucation, and he could join in cheering you on.

If you must chew Gum at all, try ones with Xylitol, as they're better for Teeth.

Hi buddy! You crack me up in your carb deprived state! I love it!!!!! Two brown shoes that don't match!!? Hahahah! Going commando!!!? Hahahahahaha!!!! Loosing your keys!!? Hahahahaha! You kill me!
Okay, in all seriousness...you're doing great...your new pictures look awesome! You're way ahead of things than you were in the last show and you still have almost 2 weeks to go! You're awesome!!!!!!!
Regarding Mr. Arseness, I think you should tell him that it's none of his business before he offends you enough to end up with a black eye or a broken nose!! Any daughter of Andy Gose isn't bound to put up with toooooo much crap, especially while in a carb deprived state. However, perhaps her deserves a black eye?!!

I didn't think your legs could get any more cut or awesome than they already were, but I was wrong! They look absolutely amazing girl!! You have worked hard and it really shows. I know you are gonna rock these next shows coming up. GO CASSIE!!!!

Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
Yea, theres no doubt. Your arms look bigger, stronger, theres a nice roundness from the build in your delts, your traps are obvious, your legs, of course rock, but I can see great development in your upper body, as well. Too be soo close and holding onto mass is the bomb....I'd say your definately dialing it in like crazy. You look TUFF (but still feminine....
).......great job.

Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
Awe..
Thanks guys.
So today I'm 10 days away from the show. I stepped on the scale this morning and was 5 lbs heavier than I was this time last week. LOL! Obviously I haven't gained 5 lbs in a week so now I'm trying to figure out why the hell body is holding on to so much water. I'm chugging the water and hoping to flush everything out in the next 10 days. The crazy thing is that I took creatine and artificial sweeteners out of diet last Friday in an effort decrease water retention and since doing that I'm actually retaining MORE water. Awe the joys of being a woman. Hoping this passes in the next couple of days. I'm feeling a bit "whalish" today.
workout this morning was good. Had a lot of energy for spinning class and spent some time working on poses. This weekend I will be spending a great deal of time in the gym working on poses and will be doing last minute preps/shopping/packing for the show next weekend.
I guess thats all I know today. I hope everybody is doing well with training and diets!
