Day 206

breakfast protein shake, bowl of special k cereal both with semi skimmed milk.

Few peanuts, 1 choc square - 40cal.

Lunch, 3 boiled egg whites, 2 slice sbread with peanut butter + bannana.

Feel like doing a workout again today instead of cardio, if i got some energy left after maybe il do cardio after?

Also, was looking for weights again, seen a dumbbell set 50kg, for £67 = 107.9705 U.S. dollars this seems like a good price to me. It's more than half the amount of the 102kg barbell/dumbbell set, with the 102kg set i could fit 25kg on each dumbbell i believe. And up to 100kg for barbell, which is good and more variety, however its £150 = 241.72500 U.S. dollars.

I'm unsure which to get, i do prefer dumbbells because you can do more excercises, but would i gain much from buying that 50kg set?

As long as you're buying weights that are heavier than what you're doing now then you should gain muscle with them. As for which ones to buy... thats a tough call Martin. I know youre short on money so if the bigger set is going to set you back financially you could always buy the more affordable and use those until you need heavier then go up from there.

That's a good idea Cassie, i have 1 dumbbell indoors at the moment and it has about 9kg of weight on it, so 2 dumbbells of 25kg should help me improve quite a bit, i could even sell them if i wasn't too good on money after lifting them easily and put the money towards a bigger set, it's just £150 for that 102kg set is quite a price, i mean, i don't know that if i came back in say 6 months and looked for it it would still be that price, it ends feb 9th, and when i look again it'll probably be something stupid like £500.

Anyway, just did 30mins cardio, pushed myself as i felt quite energtic today, done few pull ups too, legs are a bit stiff now but did the 30mins fast, slow/steady, fast repeat. It says i burned 618 calories and cycled 13.8 miles? Doubt that maybe it's half?

Anyway, i was just really determined today and i know i have to be every day in order to achieve, that 6 pack but the last 10mins i could feel it was getting harder, so rather me continuing say for an extra 10mins as im hungry now after that and need to eat something, if i kept pushing i didn't want to tire myself out so i couldn't workout tomorow, i really want the fat on to go, but everything in moderation right?

Might have something to eat like a chicken tikka masla meal, about 400 cals, bout 25g protein, 4g fat.

I'll probably have that meal later, just had dinner - rice, beef mince meat, carrots, onions, sultanas, quite spicy rice is really filling.

If i ate that meal later as im bound to be hungry, would the cardio be all for nothing? That's what i do not want i want the fat areas of body, mostly area to be gone so that they look good.

I think thats a good idea Martin. Buy the more affordable weights so you don't stretch yourself too thin financially and when you find you need heavier weights you can sell them and move up to something more challenging.

Good job on the cardio. It really does help to feel energetic.

So you did 30 minutes of cardio but you were going to do 40 minutes but decided to end 10 minutes early?

Your dinner meal looks good! If you get hungry before bed I would limit the carbs. Have protein and veggies. If that chicken tikka masla meal has 400 calories and 25 grams of protein and 4 grams of fat is also has about 66 grams of carbs (assuming i did that math right). You don't need all those carbs late at night. Stick to protein instead. Maybe a couple boiled eggs or a can of tuna or something.

Oh no, i was orignally going to do the 30mins cardio, was going to stretch it but didn't want to tire myself for tomorow, and i ment in the last 10mins of the cardio i could feel myself getting tired :P

I think it has about 50 carbs, i guess most of that is coming from the rice?

Yes, if its just chicken and rice then all the carbs would be coming from the rice. Can you just eat the chicken and skip the rice?

Yes could do that, been drinking diet cream soda 0 cals according to bottle, and water.

Also just curious why would carbs before bed be bad?

You just don't need carbs at night. Your metabolism naturally slows as you get closer to bedtime so if you eat a carb heavy meal before bed you'll be more likely to store them as fat.

Carbs to some extent can help with sleep, by stimulating hormone releases, but certainly it doesn't suit everyone and a lot of Carbs isn't necessarily the answer. If you had any Carbs limit them basically. I wouldn't go above 20g in your case, even 10 should be fine.

Oh i didn't know that, thanks for the tip.

Day 207

Breakfast, protein shake and a bowl of special k cereal with semi skimmed milk.

Lunch, can of tuna + some pasta + sweetcorn.

Workout, before did 7 sets of pull ups, during workout did, bent over rows, bench press, squats, deadlifts, military press, shoulder press, bent over curls, shoulder shrugs.

Stuff like shoulder press i don't usually do, but i was so determined, and i can only do so much with barbell, dumbbell are better in opinion as you're more flexible, with a long pole in front of you, you can only do so much. Maybe i should buy the weights but im unsure of which ones.

Anyway another protein shake after with semi skimmed milk.

Martin,

I just want you to know that youre really doing awesome here lately and i'm BEYOND PROUD of you to see your workout listed above and meals for the day. Great job friend!

Hmmm.... weights... Honestly if i were you i would go with the cheaper set right now. You can always upgrade from there later. That way you don't stretch yourself too thin financially. However, if you do have the money available for the more expensive set and it won't set you back financially, you could always go with that one so you don't have to upgrade as soon... Hmmm.. I'm not much help am I? Sorry. :? Tell you what, I'll go buy a lotto ticket today and if i win I will personally buy you a brand new set of weights (your choice)!

Great job man!

Haha, no, you are helping Cassie, everyone is different your opinion does help :D And ok sounds good

Dinner - dad is buying a chinese takeaway, ive told him i don't want any though, full of grease and fat and it makes me feel ill the next day, although it's nice it's not going to give me a 6 pack or help me gain muscle, so i'll leave it and probably end up eating something like that chicken meal last night?

Started to end bits of chicken off of the chinese, and then started to eat a couple of chips and knew that id end up eating the whole plate so i stopped, only ate like 4 chips and the chicken pieces in there. (Not alot at all) And already i feel fatter in myself, going to have a chicken piri meal, about 400 cals, 90g carb, 21g protein 4g fat.

However, if it isn't going to be much different to eater the chinese is there much point? Need your answer here Cassie!
