Feeling more confident in appearance (top off) :D

Day 203

Breakfast protein shake and special K cereal.

Break, frijii choclate milkshake, bought a strawberry one too as you said before it would be something good to have after a workout?

Lunch - 4 slices of bread, with peanut butter and a can of tuna.

Some sort of health yougurt - 75cal, 8g protein, 0.2g fat, and a actimel type yougurt - 28 cals.

I'm SO glad to hear that you feel like you're making progress!! YAY!!!

The meal at break needs more protein. 3.9 is not enough.

Lunch- 4 slices of bread is a bit much in one meal. Is it whole grain bread??? You could use some veggies there instead of all that bread.

Yougurt looks fine.

Whats the plan for workouts today?

Oh no 3.9g wasn't all of the protein, that was in 100ml of the 500ml.

Protein shake before workout:

Did shrugs with barbell, some curls bent over, rows, bench press 5 sets reps 10, some military press whilst squating (sort of)

Push ups, few pull ups top part of arms were aching a bit when i was doing military press i could feel it, maybe where i was at college for half the day?

Still did best lasted about 40-50mins or so 8)

Dinner is done but not hungry right now - toad in the hole made from eggs, milk and i think flour? Couple of butcher sausages, think lot of the fat been taken out, if not i could probably do with some fat today? And that's with veggies and potatoes i believe.

:P

Oh and it was just normal bread :x

So you had a full 500ml of that shake? Thats like 57 grams of sugar. Thats not a good meal choice at all. I'm not sure I would even drink that after a workout. When I meantioned having that post workout I meant that if you are going to drink that stuff save it for after workout. Honestly though even though there is some protein in that shake that is WAY too much sugar so not a good choice. White bread is also a very bad choice. Not sure how much peanut butter you had so don't know if you need more fat. Even so, sausages have saturated fat which is really not something that you need in large amounts in your diet.

:( :( :(

Well got one of them shakes left, perhaps it'll be good use for a workout tomorow?

Going to do 30mins cardio in a min

Breakfast - protein shake and special k cereal.

Lunch, i know this isn;t that great, but couldn't find any, baked beans, had tuna yesterday, low fat cheese, ham or chicken.

Can of ravoli - 350 cals, 2 slices bread with peanut butter.

dID CARDIO

I don't get it, sometimes im happy with the way i look without a shirt on, then other days like todayi just look average in opinion. Yes i have made some changes, but no major ones, i would like to try out for a gym, but im already paying out for driving lessons protein powders and all, what with trying to get a job too, things are hard. I was thinking i could buy a very heavy weights set, say 100kg barbell, 50kg dumbells, for about £150, or thats the equivalent to about 5months gym, that's at £30 a month which is kinda cheap.

I don't see main flaw, am i not working hard enough? Is it nutrition? I guess a big part of it is, and i really am trying, even dinners ive been changing, just hard because when the foods not there you can't make it appear. Still, hopefully things look up as i don't want to feel down, want to feel confident and happy with appearance.

You're right, the ravioli isn't the best choice. If you are going to eat that kind of stuff have some veggies with it. Having white bread with the ravioli only makes it worse. Not sure how many carbs are in the ravioli? Protein? I'm assuming with the white bread that meal has way too many carbs and possibly not enough protein.

As for your "main flaw".. its a combination of diet and exercise Martin. Youre wanting to build muscle but (in opinion) not eating enough protein to build the muscle. You're also wanting to lose fat but you're still eating things like white bread, doughnuts, ravioli... I'm in the process of cutting fat for an upcoming show and I NEVER EVER eat these things. You eat them on a daily basis and until you stop eating them you probably won't see that changes in your body that you're hoping for (I'm being totally honest so please don't take offense). Also, i've given you a workout program several times now and I don't think there has been one solid week where you have followed the program 100%. I know there are days when you are tired and when you don't feel like working out. However keep in mind that we ALL have these days. Its a fact of life unfortunately. Its pushing through on those "off" days that will help you achieve your goals.

As for that shake... I wouldn't drink it but thats just me. Theres way too much sugar in that thing. If you don't want to waste it maybe drink it over 4 days (drinking 1/4th at a time) and mix it with your protein powder after workouts.

Day 205

Breakfast, protein shake and a bowl of special k

lunch yougurt 75 cals 8g protien, can of tuna 30g protein.

Some of friends have joined this gym they said it's £25 a month but you have to be paying for 12months, so a years contract on top of that i think membership is £50

So i could try that but that's quite a lot of money seeing as im paying for driving lessons and all and at the moment am without a job, or i could get these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/106KG-BARBELL-DUM ... 5d279e809a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Bout half the price and would last me a while? Do you think them weights are worth it, seems a good price but unsure if im going to make alot of progress with them?

Hey Martin,

Meals look good.

As for those weights... not sure if thats a good idea as I don't know how your currency translates in American dollars. It would be nice for you to have a wider selection of weights though!

£150 = $242 dollars.

Had a pint glass with a protein shake and semi skimmed milk in it during workout, did, shoulder shrugs, shoulder press, bench press, deadlifts, squats (yes for u :P ) military press rows bent over curls.

I think the weights are a good price, couple of friends and some other people i know have joined a gym, it's £50 membership and £25 a month but you have to be signed up for a year which is £350 a year ($568). I guess joining a gym would mean more variety for me so would get less bored working out, but with 25kg on each dumbbell, and up to 102kg on a barbell, that would last me a while, and even so i could sell them if i gave up the weights but i wont be doing that for a while at least.

The thing i want to ask you is, i would prefer to just buy those weights then to commit myself to a years gym membership at age seeing as i don't even have a job, i know there's a few more excercise machines and treadmills at a gym, but if i bought those weights, i could achieve the same as if i went a gym right? Would probably be easier to lose the last fat at gym, but if i got those weights, i could workout at home when i want, not having to get a bus to go there. At home i have a pull up bar, bike cycling machine, weights so far and heavier ones if i bought them.

Dinner - Pizza (chicken, mushroom, bacoon) jacket potato, some potato salad, tomatoes, cucumber - Haven't ate it yet, as not hungry, what's this dinner like?

Oh man Martin. I have the biggest smile on face after seeing that workout! VERY GOOD JOB!!! YAY!!! That made day.

For dinner... I would have the pizza and tomatoes and cucumber. The potatoe salad and potatoe are only going to add more carbs which you don't really need as you're getting enough carbs from the pizza.

If you really dedicate yourself to those weights i think you can get the same results from using your home gym as you would from the gym. The gym is a big committment and you never know where you're going to be in a year. With the weights you'll actually have something to show for your investment. The gym would provide access to a wider range of equipment, however you can work the same muscles with your weights as you would with the gym equipment. I think buying weights is a better investment for you than the gym. The thought of having to commit to a year at the gym is kind of scary to me as well (although i do have committment issues. LOL!) so i can understand why you're a little hesitant to do that.

Do you think you'd be able to find a better deal on the weights if you shopped around a bit more? I don't know what kind of deals you have over there.

Thanks for the feedback just had dinner.

About the weights, i have looked around alot, and even some 50kg dumbell and barbell set (which is really 30kg barbell 20kg dumbbell) is £50-£90, i think it's a pretty good deal, yes £150 is quite a bit at age, but im sure the weights will last me a while? Do you think i'll make much changes in buying them though? Had a bannana after dinner, still a bit peckish though. I've been on this routine for over 6months, i know i haven't had flawless nutrition all the time, but ive learnt alot and made some changes, just wished ive lost the fat by now, when i breath in a little and jump on the spot you can see 6 pack faintly. It's like body don't want to let go of the fat on abs, say i was leanin over, body would have a shape like going downwards with flab foldin over only coverin the abs, hard to explain but i hope you get the idea, i used to think doin crunches and all would help, but i know you can't do spot fat removal.

9pm - had some dry roasted peanuts, an actimel yougurt and an onion barjta wateva its called - 47 cals.

Well if you've looked around alot and this seems to be the best deal then I say go for it. I do think having some heavier weights will help you progress more.
