Re: Jocelyn's 1/2 Marathon Journal
I have a co-worker who is a die-hard workout enthusiast. She is in excellent shape and I always thought she ate really healthy. I think I found out differently. I mentioned to her that I was going to start adding in the protein shake at night and she gave me a little lecture on how even if I am starving after dinner I just need to get out of the kitchen and force myself not to eat. And she said I should cut back on dinner as well. She said once I get to her fitness level it will be easier to handle (she wasn't being snide, she just knows she has been working out longer). I told her how much I eat and she just kind of snickered and said I better cut that out, especially the protein. Hmmm, looks like she could learn a few things from me!
Re: Jocelyn's 1/2 Marathon Journal
You got that right, cut back on protein ?..Chick is off her rocker, odd because most people will say " cut out the carbohydrates ". Looking fit doesn't always equate healthy, well true fitness does, not just what the outside appearance is.

Re: Jocelyn's 1/2 Marathon Journal
Tonight I dug out old Billy Blanks DVD's - I completely forgot about them. I got home a bit later than normal so I did the Cardio Bootcamp Live - it is only 30 minutes so that is why I chose it. It was a nice change, but it isn't quite as difficult as the other dvd's I have been doing over the past year. arms are like jello, though! And definitely worth the 1/2 hour.
Today I did HORRIBLE for food
I had absolutely no groceries in house so I didn't have anything to take with me. But I better post it anyways - I feel like if I ignore what I ate then I am kind of in denial. THis will hold me accountable.
Breakfast - Kashi Go Lean with ff milk, low sodium V8
Snack - protein shake
Lunch - Panera cinnamon crunch bagel with cream cheese
and a Mountain Dew
Snack - trail mix from the vending machine - I only ate about half of it because raisins make me gag, YUCK!!!
Dinner (finally back on track for the day) grilled chicken breast, brown rice, steamed green beans
I am now stocked up on groceries for the week so it won't be happening again!

Re: Jocelyn's 1/2 Marathon Journal
uh..you plan on walking tomorrow?
i had to take 2 days off after 30 minutes of that workout. I was in serious pain in glutes and hammies, had to hold onto something to lower myself down when I had to sit. Wait til you do the 2nd half...heh heh heh...

Re: Jocelyn's 1/2 Marathon Journal
This is extremely hard for a Bears fan to say, but good luck in the Super Bowl

Today's food was an exact copy of yesterday so I won't bother typing it again.
No workout tonight as I am in a tad bit of pain from last night

I was doing Bob Harper DVD and I injured myself - in the beginning there are a ton of squats while lifting weights - then you eventually start rotating the weights from one hand to the other. Apparently I am not the most coordinated person in the world
I somehow managed to bang the weight into leg (the top part of shin, just below the knee). Ouch. I already have a huge bruise forming! Guess I need to work on coordination

Sometimes it's hard to coordinate what your doing when your trying to follow someone else.feelin-great wrote:Guess I need to work on coordination

Too enthusiastic maybe
.
Plus things like that often do have moves you try to get used to and then just when you have, the person switches to another one, so you struggle to get into your groove sometimes.
Been there and done that before now with classes.
