Hi Martin,

I don't think youre getting too much fat in your diet. You want about 20-35% of your total calories to come from healthy fats so i think you're fine.

I think your body has definitely changed since you started, however I think you just don't notice all of the changes because you have nothing to compare too. Do you have any pictures from 4 months ago that you could look at and compare to?

You might try the weights but if they are too much just skip them until you feel 100% better.

I tried the weights but didn't last long, did about 3 sets of push ups variing from 10-20. Put 27kg of weight on, did 3 military presses reps of 7 then tried shoulder press but something wasn't right, even though i wanted to work out i couldn't something stopping me sounds weird but even though i felt i could do it i couldn't and then i did a set of curls and things just got worse. I had to stop and felt dissapointed with efforts.

Don't feel dissapointed Martin. You've been sick. You need to give yourself time to get better. :) Take the day off and rest. You'll only set yourself back if you try to do too much while you're not fully recovered.

Chicken burgers and fries have the kind of fats in them that you really should avoid. These are the things that are going to hinder your progress and raise your cholesterol levels if you eat a great deal of them over time. Also, the chicken burger is going to have white bread which is pure crap. Diet coke is terrible for you.... has chemicals and caffein and God-knows-what else in it. This is never a good choice Martin. I would go instead for a bowl of hot oatmeal (which should help clear your sinuses if they are clogged) with a scoop of protein tossed in or go for some chicken and veggie soup or omelet... You've cut back on your egg intake however you really should consider taking stuff like fries and fried chicken burgers and white bread out of your diet as these are the things that are going to add saturated fat and simple sugars to your diet and ultimately set you back from making progress.

Just honest opinion.

Cassie :)

Yeah it doesn't have calories but has a lot of chemicals that most likely aren't the best for you. Plus, the caffein in it is a diuretic. If you're sick you'll want to load up on water, not soda.

Oh sorry about that Martin. You don't have that often... I just wanted to clarify because you seem to be concerned with eggs now and I would be more concerned with things like chicken burgers, fries, sausages, cheeses, pizza, cakes, muffins, chips, pastries... as these are worse for you than a few eggs every day. So wanted to make sure you weren't planning on cutting back on eggs while leaving these items in your diet as you'd be MUCH better off leaving the eggs and staying away from chicken burgers and fries.

The thing that worries me about aspartame is that it really hasn't been around long enough for us to fully understand exactly what it does when eaten over the course of a lifetime. Some tests (done on mice) showed that large amounts could be toxic, however the amount of aspartame given to the mice was more than the average person would be able to consume in an average day. However, it still does worry me that this hasn't been around long enough for us to FULLY understand how it could affect the body after years and years of consumption. thoughts on it, i'm pretty sure plain water doesn't cause cancer and I KNOW body needs water. However, I don't know how aspartame is going to affect me down the road and I know body doesn't need this to function properly. In fact, when aspartame is eaten in large (or even regular doses for some) doses it can cause EXTREME diarrhea... which says to me that this isn't supposed to be in the body.

Cassie, I believe, also stops these behaviors coming up to her competitions (articifical sweetener intake, not aspartame, specifically). Though her use is *nothing* like the girl I knew, she is still light on sugar free jello, and I think in one of her posts even mentioned cutting out protein powder (which often has sucralose, another artificial sweetener), in the weeks leading up to a competition. Over time, these chemicals can build up in your body, and interfere with its normal metabolic function.
Yeppers... although i haven't been as strict for this one as i was on the last one. EVERYTHING comes out Monday and water goes to 2 gallons a day for a couple days to really clean things out.

Day 123

Breakfast - 3 shreaded wheat with hot semi skimmed milk. Been having more hot drinks than usually too where i haven't been too well, such as tea/coffe. Also usually have a small amount of sugar to put in drink/breakfast not loads.

Lunch - can of tuna 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter, does a glass of juice/squash hurt? Sometimes i have a horrible taste in mouth and water doesn't usually get rid of it.

Sprinkled dougnut.

Havent done any cardio 2day :|

Dinner bowl of porridge.
