Gosh Martin, sorry to hear that you're feeling so crummy today.

Is the swine flu going around your area? A national emergency has been declared here due to the amount of swine flu cases. I've realllly been trying to take care of myself lately to prevent getting sick. I've heard that zinc can boost your immune system. Also vitamin C. Echancea also is supposed to help. I'm currently doing all three. Another thing that seems to help is drinking LOTS of water.... like atleast 1-2 gallons a day. It can be hard to drink that much but it really seems to help. The last thing I would recommend is rest. Take the day off of exercise and lay low, sleep when you can and give your body a chance to heal itself. If your sinuses are bothering you, you could also try drinking/eating lots of warm fluids/food. Hot water, hot tea, soup, hot oats.. anything with steam helps to clear sinuses and congestion.

Hope you feel better soon Martin.

Zinc boosts immune system.

Vit C boosts immune system.

Swine Flu, is a problem here in Britain, but not massively so, although people with pre-existing problems, over 65's and healthcare workers, are getting first dibs on the vaccine shots.

Frankly I'm not overly concerned, especially as many people are supposedly getting symptoms, and it's just normal flu or cold like symptoms.

You'll be fine dude. You're probably okay to train through what you've got, so as long as you're not really terrible and barely able to move, keep active, because if you create a Thermogenetic state inside the body, you might help to shorten the lifespan of the Germs.

That's what happens when your temperature goes up past 100 degrees F, the part of the Brain responsibile for temperature control, the Hypothalamus, increases the internal temperature beyond the normal 96.5-100 degrees F range, to create an in vivo environment, that is less suitable for growth and proliferation of Germs, and may induce viral decline.

Hmm, i still feel ill, however i can walk, do you think i should try weight lifting? I don't want to make things worse and still don't have all energy.

Day 120

Breakfast just had a bowl of wheatabix.

Lunch can of tuna 2 slices toast peanut butter and a coffee.

Now, i usually have eggs for lunch but if i start eating the whites il be using more eggs as i won't get as much protein from just the whites and therefore using up more eggs. I don't want to be using up all parents food, what other things are good for lunch ham?

I live in a house with eleven other humans and all have been sick with coughing wheezing snotty noses, and sneezing on every gawdamned door handle and light switch in the entire house!

I bought disinfectant wipes and stationed them throughout the house in truck briefcase anyplace I might want to wipe down before use. and I use shirtsleeves to open doors when I'm out in town.

this flu is not much different than any other flu season except the bullshit hype that is being used to keep the planet cowed and under the mans thumb harder.

keep em scared of their own shadow seems the order of the day for the cabal herding us toward oblivion.

dun let the fookars scare ya, do your work, eat right, sleep right take ya vitamins and tell the man to fook off.

I hear tell l-glutamine helps with immune system too.

also i have not been sick yet!

Warmest regards,
Oscar
and refuse to give in to it!
I'm watching out for that bus that's bound to run me over though

Hi Martin,

I would definitely skip the workout today and let your body heal. As for the eggs, I know what you mean about not wanting to waste the eggs. You could do 2 eggs and 2 eggwhites (you'll only be using one more egg than you were before) or you could just do the eggs as you have been. I know many who eat eggs every day and don't have problems with them. I personally prefer the eggwhites but keep in mind that i'm on a different diet than you. Ham, turkey, chicken, lunch meat, low fat cheese, cottage cheese, soy, beef, pork, fish are all good sources of protein. :)

Good job. I hope you continue to feel better!

Thanks Cassie hopefully feel better tomorow and oscar i too do that with sleeves to open doors, Dinner was mash and peas with pork mince meat. For the eggs, i don't mind eating them as i have been if cholestrol is fine if i know how to find it out? But then again if it has alot of fat in it perhaps im eating too much fat in diet? Also had a small piece of cake and a smallish sized muffin but hopefully will be back on track when im back to normal.

Yes, hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow.

Honestly Martin, I would be more concerned with the fat/cholesterol from things like cake, muffins, fatty meats, fatty cheeses, pastries, sausage, and other high fat products. This fat is much worse for you than that found in eggs. If you'd like to have your cholestrol checked your dr can do it for you. :)

No you wouldn't necessarily feel ill from the cholestrol in eggs. Cholestrol seems to be something that creeps up as you age as a result of continuous unhealthy eating over the years. To knowledge you don't necessarily "feel" it. Those with high cholesterol levels are often overweight (although not always) as higher cholesterol levels are often the result of improper diet and unhealthy lifestyle... so you most likely would feel poor due to the excess weight, poor diet, and lack of physical activity. Although, as i stated this isn't always the case. There are some people who eat fairly healthy diets and still have higher cholestrol.

How are you feeling today Martin? If you're still feeling ill you might skip the cardio.

Ok, il try and be easy on the eggs and next time i go doctors il check, i feel alright, still not completely with it, keep getting a temperature and feeling a bit rough now and then, i dunno if it's best to skip the cardio but then that's another day ive left it.

Ive eaten a good dinner i belive, oven chips, 3 pieces of chicken and according to the label each portion is 208 calories 29.0g protein and 10g fat. So thats almost 90g protein in just them pieces and some spaghetti. However it annoys me when i eat well like that when it's not a weight lifting day or like now, i don't feel 100%. But still.. what can you do. Not like i could live off chicken.

I would skip the cardio if youre still not feeling 100%. The more rest you get the sooner you'll feel better and the quicker you can get back to your workouts. If you keep working out when you're sick you could just make yourself worse or prolong the illness. You need rest friend.

Don't worry too much on the eggs Martin. I would actually be more concerned with things like cheese, high fat meats, fried goods, and pastries/candy if i were you. Eggwhites are better if you're doing a great deal of eggs everyday (I eat a TON of eggs), however eating a couple eggs on a daily basis really shouldn't hurt you if you're keeping your diet in check.

Day 122

Late breakfast - 3 shreaded wheat with hot semi skimmed milk.

Ear is still aching today, can't hear much out of it and feels like it's going to explode when i yawn and coff, getting some ear drops later.

Lunch - 2 slices toast with peanut butter and 4 boiled eggs (1 full egg, others whites) not sure of calories in whites or protein but perhaps im eating too much fat in diet? It's been over 4months now and surely i would of seen some major changes by now?

I still don't feel completely with it it could be due to the ear ache but i will try to at least attempt weight training today.
