Gotta love laptop - not sure how the dinner part ended up after the part about leaving town - must have dragged it there on accident

It was a great dinner, Lynne :) favorite! And I guess I am ok with having a piece of cake this weekend - where downfall exists is with the endless munchies sister sits out. That is weakness - chips and dip and crackers and dip, and all that good stuff  I try to stick to the veggies and stuff but it is soooooo hard! And once I start on the chips and crackers and stuff, it is hard to stop! Hopefully willpower will get me through without adding a couple of pounds

I have a coworker who wants to sell her treadmill for $250 - all I know right now is that it is a Proform - not sure of the model yet. Does anybody know how reliable Proform treadmills are? I really, really want one but I don't want to waste the money if it isn't going to hold up to running. I am going to go to her house next week to see it, but it would be nice to have a little info before I go! Thanks for any input :D

If you can find out the model google it along with the word amazon and you can read the reviews on amazon. That's what i like to do. :)

From what I can see the Proform looks to be a good treadmill. Depending on what model it is, the motor has either a 25 yr. or lifetime warranty, and parts are either 1 or 2 yr.
here is a link I have gone to before to read treadmill reviews. It has several Proform model reviews:
http://www.treadmilladviser.com/proform-treadmills.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

$250 seems like a fair price depending on how old it is, since new Proforms start at $649 & up. :D

Yeah, I thought $250 sounded reasonable :D Now I just have to get over there to figure out the model - she keeps forgetting to look.

So we are getting our first snow storm of the season right now - go figure, I have to leave in 10 minutes to drive across the state! Good thing I will just be a passenger - I can fall asleep and not have to think about it  As much as I was dreading the snow, I am a bit excited now, the dead brown landscape will be pretty again :D

No workout today, worked all day, had to go to a friend's party and now I am leaving for sister's. next chance for a workout will be Sunday night. And I am feeling MUCH better now, finally!

Hope everybody has a great weekend :D

I haven't gotten over there to see it yet so I have to wait until we can work out our schedules - hopefully it will be worht it :D

I didn't eat very well this weekend  sister surprised me and didn't have ANYTHING healthy, so I had to make do. I wish I would have taken own food, but I thought she would have plenty to choose from. Lesson learned.

So on Friday I left here in the middle of a snowstorm. Which meant that I came home to a snow covered driveway :( I hoped to get home early but that didn't happen. We didn't get home until 8:15. Then I bundled up and shoveled for an hour in 10 degree temps - it really was a great cardio workout, plus it was heavy so I am sure I am going to have sore muscles tomorrow - we had 8 inches. So that was workout for the day. I weigh in tomorrow morning, I am hoping I didn't do too much damage this weekend

I had a .2 pound weight gain this week - I'll take it after how I ate this weekend, just glad it wasn't worse. It sure got me motivated, though :D

Today's menu:

Breakfast - Kashi GO-Lean with skim milk
Snack - cottage cheese with pepper
Lunch - natural peanut butter on 1 slice ww bread, carrots, grapes
Snack - 2 lf string cheese, 21 almonds
Dinner - grilled chicken, brown rice, steamed asparagus (YUM!)

I finally tried new yoga video tonight - wow, that was tough! I don't even think it is physically possible to do some of those moves  The people on the video must be really flexible dummies - they can't be real  I think I am going to be sore tomorrow  It wasn't as tough as other dvds (well, the poses were tough!) but I think it will do it once a week or so, I can really see how it will be beneficial.

1 1/2 year nephew was just diagnosed with whooping cough :( I am still not better, I have a terrible cough, and sister thinks I should go get it checked out. It seems a bit better tonight, so I guess if it is bad again tomorrow I will go in - I have had this cough for 9 days now.

I know nothing about wooping cough but if its contagious than i would definitely get it checked out especially if you have had it that long.

I've always been curious about trying yoga or pilates but never done it, will be interesting to see how you like it. :)

No workout today - I came home to put laundry in earlier and apparently washing machine decided that right before Christmas was a really good time to stop working. So I had to take each piece out of a HUGE load of laundry and wring them out individually - then I had to put them in laundry basket full of sopping wet clothes and carry them to car (barely made it). THen I had to take them to parent's house and carry them in - by this time I was soaking wet all the way down front (keep in mind it is about 10 degrees here). So I guess that was a bit of a workout just carrying the laundry :) Now I am home and can dry them here, but I don't have time to workout, I need to get to bed.

I guess the treadmill is out of the question now because now I have to buy a new washing machine -right before Christmas - nice timing  But I guess it could be worse, so I can't complain too much :D

I am really sore today after the yoga video - I am guessing tomorrow I will feel it even more

I actually wasn't too sore the second day, I was surprised - but abs sure hurt!

Tonight I had to do laundry at sister's house (it's getting old fast) so I decided I might as well make use of time there so I did 3 miles on the elliptical - it was set at random but out of the 16 random section, 9 of them were the two highest levels  I wanted to quit so bad but I pushed myself through it - I am finding it really boring now that I was running outside this summer. I am still scared to run, though, because of knee. Also I have asthma and breathing in that cold air might not be so good. But I guess I won't know until I try :|

After working out I realized I really didn't want to cook because I have about a gazillion things to do tonight - so I ran to Subway and got an oven roasted chicken breast sub. I went through the drive-thru since I was all sweaty and gross and I had Stewie in the car. I will never go through that drive-thru again - they put like three pieces of lettuce on it, only two dinky tomatoes, and very little of the other veggies. I don't eat there much, I know it's not hte healthiest, but next time I am definitely going in!

I leave at 5:30 tomorrow to go CHristmas shopping with mom, all three sisters, and aunt and cousin (the family of uncle who recently passed away). I am a little nervous for this. I must say that our "shopping" trips don't focus much around shopping - they revolve around food. I kid you not - everything is determined by where we are going to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. And then they make sure to have a morning and afternoon snack. It's gonna be rough, but I am going to try really hard to be good! We are staying in a hotel (we are driving two hours from here to shop) and they are packing lots of snacks and alcohol for the evening. I packed a bottle of wine, I figured it was a better option.

So I will have to check in here on phone once in a while tomorrow to keep me in check with the food - I hope the restaurants they pick have some healthy options!

Lesplease wrote:Good luck with the shopping trip. I would like a razor rip skate (blue or silver), a carbon fiber case for a 4g touch, and a new dip station. I wear an "s/m" in most of workout clothes, and a size 9 running shoe
Wouldn't you know, they were out of all of these things at every store I went - I swear, I really tried

Allison, it is definitely tough to have asthma in cold weather! Although I just got done shoveling and I noticed lungs didn't really bother me. So maybe I will get up the nerve to try a winter run one of these days :D

Becky, we went to Madison - we actually shopping in the cities a few weeks ago, although we didn't go to the Mall of America - too much this time of year! I think I would go insane  But yes, we did make it back in the snowstorm, although it took us an extra hour - it was pretty treacherous.

I got home at 4:00 today and had 12 inches of snow in driveway - I had to park at the bottom and trudge through - I couldn't pull car in the garage until two hours later when I was finally able to finish shoveling. And by the time I got done there was already another inch  It sounds like when all is said and done we will have about 20 inches. Ugh. But it's a great workout - I got two hours of both cardio and strength training :D Every inch of me hurts.

Shopping went well. I actually did pretty well for food - although i did get addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Mochas this weekend - just what I need!!! Luckily the two here are really inconvenient so I won't be getting too many :D Last night we went to an Italian restaurant and I convinced mom to split the entree with me - we did lemon chicken - it was yummy! So overally I would say I did pretty well.

Tomorrow is supposed to be 7 degrees. It will be tough to shovel in that weather. But the good news is that I think I have a new snowblower - I just have to get someone to bring it to me :D parent's got a new one and are selling me their older, smaller one for $50 - woo hoo
