huh.... youngest one (Owen) said "Dad, we need to put up the Christmas tree, it's Christmas tomorrow, you need to go buy some presents) I about busted a gut, well in between tears. I had planned to pull the shrinkwrap off the boat today.....ugh!!!

Sat. 4-17-10

E-5 (Thats elliptical for 5 min. warm-up)

Supersets, with 60 sec. rest...in this order.

Rack Pulls--135/12,12,12 (Babying the pathetic lower back, bar set at base of knee cap)
Step-ups--60/12,12,12 (Been using DB's, time to load a barbell to get more weight)

Seated Wide Grip Row--12x70, 110/11.5, 10,9
Incline Bench Press--12x65, 120/12,12,7

Chin-ups--BW/7,5,5
Mil. Press--70/12,10,9

Go figure, only been back on FB for a week, and already see numbers going up, this baffles me, no suprise I suppose being simple minded, and all. Do certain bodytypes prefer being tortured 3 times a week instead of one, I end up basically doing the same total number of sets per body part--3 sets per day for 3 days on FB totalling 9 sets per week, or just doing 9 sets per bodypart on a single day of the week.

We seem to be on similar lifting figures (if pound to kilo converter is correct), but you pull off more reps than me. I need to try step ups, to mix up leg workouts.

They work the quads, but I really feel them in glutes, which is good. The way Swanso explained it with FB was do Squats one day, with Single legged deadlifts, or RDL's. Then on the next day, do Deads with either lunges, or step-ups. He said never do Heavy deads, and heavy squats on the same day. Too much stress on the bod, and nervous system. Assuming I understood him correctly. Concentrating on multiple joint exercises, as opposed to wrist curls, and such single muscle lifts.

I am truly envious, at this point I would trade mowing for shoveling..... :D

Do them through your heals, not toes! I love squats and deadlifts!

Sun. 4-18-10

Weight--188.0

Go figure <scratching head> was I really carrying around 8 lbs. of M&M's on body?

I like Deads better than squats, though I always feel like I'm going to damage something. I never dead as much as I can, for that reason.

Sun. 4-18-10

Three high intensity VB games. We pushed, and won all three, leaving enough time to play a couple of "pick-up" games. Lots of fun, had an awesome sub, and he was rockin' the ball. They finally added it all up, and we are in 1st place, going into play-offs next week to face the 4th place team. Can't.....WON'T take them for granted, as I've seen several times the 4th place team upsets the 1st place team in first round of play-offs. Last time it happened, we were the 4th place team, and they thought they would walk all over us...it was like deer in the headlights, when we beat them. So, no letting up.

Tues. 4-20-10

Weight--190.8

Took the boys to see the Dragon movie in 3D yesterday, and went to Pizza Hut after, as we had coupons. Two small slices of meatlovers, oh and shared a soda with popcorn with Barbie at the theater. Huh....the scales tell it all. Wasn't expecting to like the 3D, as in the past I thought it was corny, and stupid, but I thought it was amazing, so much better than in the past, no more of the green/red glasses.

We have fun, but body is so tired the next day. I always think I'll get used to it, but mondays are like dragging around a lead weight. When hitting you jump, and arch backwards then strike the ball, which arches you forward, really works things out...... :D Oh, I've been splitting some firewood with a maul also......

Wow, Will, congrats on being in first place!! Good luck in your next game. Sooo, you are working out, playing volley ball and chopping wood?? That is a lot of exercise!! The more the better, tho, right? Sounds like a nice family day at the movies. We are waiting for the next Ironman to come out next month. Looks pretty good! The 2 lb weight gain is probrably water from all that sodium in the popcorn! Last time I went to the movies I could only have a few handfuls because it was soooo salty! I hate salt. Why must salt be added to everything??? You are doing awesome, by the way. Love your posts! :D
