Yes, for me snowboarding is an excellent workout as I have to pick myself up a lot because I fall A LOT. Last time we went obliques, abs, tris, forearms, calves and quads were all screaming. It's such a great workout, especially when you suck at it! It's still fun though!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Too funny, thats one of the reason's I've wanted to build up wimpy legs, I waterski, wakeboard, and also snow ski, and legs are always what give out first....like c'mon you wimps I wanna keep going. So yuh, I know what ur saying...total quad basher for me too. Totally a blast......!

.....Funny thing about fudge craving: when I got home there was a big delicious plate of fresh homemade fudge waiting for me! Apparently our nanny decided to make fudge today and share it with family.

As soon as I finish dinner...I'm off to devour the whole plate! If anyone tries to stop me....they may loose a finger! ;) J/K!

Update:

We didn't go snowboarding on Saturday like we planned :( . husband and I both had leg workouts with the trainer the day prior to our trip and we were hobbling as it was, but even still fully intended to go snowboarding and got up early and drove to the mountain with our German Exchange student and his German Exchange "uncle" ( parents have an exchange student as well). When we arrived at the mountain it was raining sideways and slushy and foggy...and we knew that it would be a blizzard up top...so hubby and I hung out in the lodge while the teenagers went out and got soaked! They had a great time, but I would have been miserable because I would have had a soaked bum with all the falling I do! ;)

Because I didn't go snowboarding, which was meant to be cardio for the day, I hopped on the elyptical for a steady 30 minutes. The elyptical is getting boring as Girl on Top book is pretty dry...sO I'm thinking I ought to pick up a spicy romance novel or the like today after work! Sunday was much of the same: 30 minutes steady on the elyptical with dry book. Monday I had a session with trainer and we did chest. I have muscles, and they are really starting to show themselves! How exciting!!!! For cardio session for Monday, I braved the dark 35 degree weather and went to the stable and went horseback riding for and hour and a half. It's been a long time since I've gone riding and I've forgotten what a GREAT workout it is with all the posting an postures you keep while riding. I'm a little sore today!

Today is Tuesday...hopefully I will be enjoying a steamy romance novel while do work on the elyptical this evening. But first, I have a few more items on Christmas shopping list....and maybe a glass of cheer with a friend!

Also, I will be baking cookies tonight...a recipe from the Cassie Gose family that I haven't had since I was in early teens. I CANNOT WAIT TO EAT THEM ALL!

...Only 11 more days before I begin diet from hell!

LOL! Ok!

They are sugar cookies.. the best EVER. However this is mothers recipe so it isn't in the least bit healthy.

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
3 tbsp sour cream (the recipe calls for 3tbsp but mom usually puts in closer to 6 tbspns.. adding extra sour cream makes them much more moist)
1 teaspoon vanilla (i'm pretty sure mom puts in closer to a tbsn)
1/2 teaspoon lemon (ok this is the other vital ingredient. The recipe calls for 1/2 t, mom usually puts in somewhere between 1 and 3 teaspoons. You have to be careful not to but in too much as it will come out too lemony, however adding more than the recipe calls for does help to make them have a nice fresh flavor)
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Bake them at 325 I believe... maybe 350. I wrote down the ingredients but nothing else.

For the frosting take a container of cake frosting and heat in a double boiler. Add a bit of powdered sugar to thicken it up enough for spreading. Spread frosting on cookies and let cool so frosting can set.

Enjoy! They truly are a tasty little treat!

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays as much as I did! :D

I have been on a little vacation with regards to diet and exercise. Only a matter of days before I begin the contest prep diet, so I guess I'd better live it up while I still can. I made Cassie's cookies along with a bunch of other tasty treats...YUM! YUM!

Back to the gym today for a killer legs workout!

Oh...and today was weekly weigh-in with the trainer. Down half a pound from last week despite the fact I ate a whole plate of fudge (by myself) last weekend and pigged out with no remorse over Christmas! That's progress people!!! ;)
