funnyman, about your comment just then. as to your comment about supplements, just because you used a supplement doesnt really mean anything, as you must use it as recommended and with the right training and maybe dieting. for example, you can take as many protein and creatine supplements as you want, but if u dont lift, nothing will change. as for cardio, it can indeed burn a lot of calories and carbs, but only if it is done intensely. i advocate that cardio is still necessary, just not as intense as it would be if striving to "tone" or burn fat. just stacking on muscle without getting your body used to the added weight is a bad idea in opinion.

i don't do cardio at all and you don't really have to i think...people seem to think that "cardio fitness" is what you need for endurance but you only have 1 heart which doesn't recognise what type of training you're doing...if it needs to work hard, it doesn't matter if your running 5kms or doing heavy squats, the demand is still there... i done a VO2 max terst a couple of months ago and got 49 or something which isn't great but was still above ave for weight, gender and age

I concur with Bigiz about Calorie Burn. Heavy Cardio will burn Calories, but so would getting up from the TV, and going to the Toilet, by the time you're back watching the TV again, the distance you walked to and from the Toilet, might yield a 1-5 calorie burn, or some such number, so even that very, very low level of Cardio will cause some calorie burning effect.

Though unless you're caning it, I can't see as how a big guy, doing say 15 minutes light stuff about 6 times a week, is going to be robbed of a lot of precious growth potential or accumulated size.

Maybe a lb of muscle over time, but not enough to be arsed about it.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think it can be better.

against last post some form of cardio will increase work capacity meaning more sets in the gym, ecspecially if you respond to higher volume better than low vol
