Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty
Nah, computer is fine now.
Mom and Dad dropped by earlier
, hadn't seen them in nearly a month, so we had a good visit then after they left "workout window" had evaporated and it was now time to cook dinner, wash clothes, feed the family, clean kitchen, etc. so no workout today. But I made a really healthy dinner I was proud of - grilled chicken breast, steamed broccoli and whole grain brown rice. So for the day today I ate:
breakfast: half bowl oatmeal / 10 oz. homemade smoothie
Somehow forgot to bring anything from home for mid morning snack so by lunch time I was starving - not good.
lunch: Roast beef sub sandwich on wheat, BBQ chips (bad, I know, it was an impulse buy and i was like a ravenous wolf eating those chips!) that's what I get for not having that healthy mid morning snack! I hadn't had any chips in so long! BBQ is favorite and I totally caved
But that was only cheat
snack: 2 % low fat mozz. string cheese
dinner: 1/2 cup steamed broccoli / 1/2 cup brown rice / 4 to 5 oz. grilled chicken breast
Planning on an early morning workout - HIIT treadmill, then head out the door for 20 minute steady run.
Have a great Friday everyone!

Glad to see your computer is ok, thought I saw you around the shapefit town. I really didn't workout (much anyway) yesterday and I didn't have as good of an excuse! Glad you were able to visit with your family - you need to cherish those moments

Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty
Sorry! didn't mean to try to sway anyone into a chip eating frenzy!!
just ignore what I said about BBQ chips. Actually they weren't that good....really....nasty tasting...disgusting...terrible...waste of money, don't do it!!
Update:
Weigh in this morning: 163 - no change
BUT! measurements were:
35.5" bust
30.5 waist
37.5 hips
So, I lost more inches this week! Go figure.
It's funny, even tho' I still weigh 10 lbs more than last year, I am now wearing the same jeans that I wore then, but they are looser now!
I still have to remind myself that the old ways I lost weight might have worked, but I was losing muscle and even tho' I weighed less, I was not toned or muscled. I still have fat to lose, but the way body is changing is remarkable to see!
I added a few new pics taken Oct. 3rd to show progress since July 3rd. Still have a long way to go...but that is why this is called "Work in Progress"! Have a great day everyone!
Les....you look adorable!!!!
I mean i like Wiggles and everything, and she really is a princess...but seeing you is much better!!!

Yes, you are right, Lu. I am blessed that they only live a couple of miles away, and I really should try to see them much more often.ldematto wrote:Glad you were able to visit with your family - you need to cherish those moments

Who is that youthful Lady, with a smile that lights up a million galaxies, and what has she done with Lynne?
Considering the fact you've been putting on muscle as well, to lose 7lbs in 12 weeks is a good change in composition, and you can be very proud of yourself. You say you're 47, but you don't look a day over 40.
Keep up the hard work, and keep showing people that lovely smile, you deserve to be smiling, you look superb misses
.
Well done.

She left her on the twinkie aisle at the grocery store about 4 months ago!! LOLBoss Man wrote:Who is that youthful Lady, with a smile that lights up a million galaxies, and what has she done with Lynne?
thank you Boss Man and everyone for the encouraging words. I just had to take a good hard look at myself earlier this year and realized that things were never gonna change if I was always waiting for "Monday" to start eating healthy, or nothing would ever improve if I didn't get serious and honest with myself and make some changes in not only physical workout, and eating plan, but most of all A T T I T U D E !! I was so down on myself, and I can tell you now from experience that negative feelings that we cast onto ourselves radiate out and affect our lives and everyone around us. Feeling bad about myself didn't stop me from eating bad foods, and it didn't help me with exercising or running. It only made me feel worse, and in turn I would continue to make those bad choices, telling myself it didn't matter. So......making these positive changes to eat more healthy, and do workouts - no matter what, not letting myself make excuses and just forging ahead has slowly brought me out of the funk I had been in for so long. And of course being a part of this site! I cannot tell you guys how crucial it has been to have this outlet and source of support and help!
