Hi, all,

I'm with you, Sue--June flew by. Glad you had a good month, but sorry about the sleepless nights. Bummer on the PB; it's become almost a daily food for me again lately since ShopRite has started carrying an organic Valencia at a reasonable price. Good luck with your plan for July!

Congrats on the new job, Bekah. I must have missed where you quit your old job. Or maybe you were waiting till you got a new one? Hope you like it, either way! What are you going to be doing? Working from home yet? Enjoy your bike ride, and you have a happy 4th, too, thanks! :sunshine:

Hard to believe I never even thought about the other 3 Monkees being American, Boss Man. Of course being one of the Davy fans, I didn't pay too much attention to the others.

Our babysitter was a Mickey fan, too, Sue, but sister was all about Peter, and I was in the majority (for a change) with the Davy-lovers. Glad you can open the windows again--we had a few glorious days, but are back to needing the AC, at least for the dehumidifying function, again today.

Happy Friday, everyone! :sunshine:

Afternoon all,

Molasses, I see your June flew by too. Yeah I really miss PB as I loved it so much. Lots of stuff I loved a lot now is off limits. See what you have to look forward to LOL

Thanks on the plan for July.

I see your babysitter was a Mickey fan too. Well back to the a/c as hitting 100 today...which isn't bad at all. Much better than the 110 we had last week.

Yeah when we lived on Long Island, mother turned the a/c in July and it didn't go off again till after Labor Day LOL

I don't miss the humidity there...heck we hit 30s and 40s here and that is way too humid for us. LOL

Well I am off to get some on line work done.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and a good Independence Day.

i think davy and mickey were the cutest. I don't know if it was his accent and being british so much as he just was on the better looking side. Sadly when people don't know someone a lot of times that is what they base their impressions on.

look at the kennedy nixon debates. People who watched it on TV thought kennedy won. while people that listened on the radio thought nixon won. I feel really strongly on politics. i always have. i got all A's in poly sci classes. i took a constitutional law class and the professor told me i should think about being a lawyer. ha ha sometimes though i know i should probably keep mouth shut more on it. I just feel so strongly on the matter and really believe a certain way.

i can't post for a few weeks. but i will still give sue and email and post a little on fb. i will tell you guys about new job on there.

Sue i wish we could have the air on. we don't barely at all. I think summer for us usually flies by in general.

have a good 4th everyone. :)

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy 4th of July and hope your all enjoying the summer;) June has been a rainy month here:( I hope it will get better, not really hot, but nicer anyway for the rest of the summer. Not that I'm doing much. Youngest son is still getting stuff ready for moving although he's been in MN. also working a bit, and did find a townhouse to rent only about 10 miles from his work on west side of where he works. I remember someone asking what he does?? Not sure what his position is but he is mostly a web designer and taking care of clients for and with their web sites etc. He is still part owner in Marq. here and will stay that way for a while until he see's how it all goes but I am hoping he tries to sell his house before thinking of renting it at least. You can never tell with renters and so many problems etc. Best to try to sell it first I think. I know he's worries about the big 2 payments of house pymt. and rent:( Wish I could help but nothing here. At least they don't mind a dog there:) I guess I will have his cat Misa here for a lot more time:) She's doing good.
son from GB is up but has to go back to work for Mon. and has Tues. off but thats the breaks:( His bday next weekend so not sure if he will be up or not. Otherwise not much going on here and I haven't really got up north yet either as vehicle isn't a dream job:( Guess DSis is having hip surgery on the 25th up north and her DH who is in a nursing home now, fell down and had hip surgery a few weeks ago:( middle son did enjoy his trip to St. Louis to see other sis also:)
I've tried reading up on things here and sounds like you all are doing pretty good with exercise, working and maybe not so good sleeping but all in all, pretty good:) Strawberries are out now but I don't think I"ll get out there to get fresh ones unless by accident. The many rainy days has made June fly by but pretty depressing weather:( We don't have much of a summer here as it is. So enjoy what you can and be safe out there for the 4th and the whole summer:)) :sunshine: :coffee:

Hi All,
exercising this year has not been great. Very sporadic but I am getting out some. You are right June did fly by!! :wowzer: I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We had rain for our Canada Day. I did get out for a bit of a walk though between showers. This is the last week of work before vacation for me. :D Doing a different vacation this year. We are travelling to Nova Scotia to tour Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail. I haven't been there for 22 years so I am looking forward to it. :sunshine: I finally got accommodations booked for the last place yesterday so hoping that all works out. When it was just the two of us we went with no bookings and found places on the fly. Not now! Anyway I will make a plan for continuing to get exercise in and ramp it up for the fall (or maybe even August). We all do what we can. I know I need more exercise but I don't know where to pull the time from. Maybe I should give up sleeping.
I hope you have some great summer days coming your way YAH! You will enjoy Misa's company.
Good luck with your new job Becky! I hope you are enjoying your swim classes and bike rides!
I hope you having a fabulous summer Mo and Bama!!

Happy Independence Day ladies,

Image

I agree Bekah I think Davy and Mickey were the cutest too. I am with you Bekah, I loved history(though in day it was called Social Studies class LOL, too, that and English class, plus all secretarial classes. I think you professor is right Bekah you would have made a good lawyer. Hey I have the same problem mouth works many times before brain....tough I say....

Oh we couldn't live here without air conditioning. Plus summer for us sometimes starts in May and goes through October and a couple years into November.

YAH, wishing you a Happy 4th of July also. I see the kids are still getting all the stuff out with moving and also. Glad they found a townhouse to rent. I agree YAH on the renters, especially with houses. Heck some apartments they wreck bad enough. HUGS to them on the payments for the house. I see Henry is alright but Misa isn't. Poor Misa. Glad she can stay with someone. Wow hard to believe he is having a birthday already again....time sure does fly.

Sorry you didn't get to up north yet and prayers and wishes for your Dsis with her hip surgery. Very sorry to hear about her husband too.

Glad your middle son enjoyed his trip to see your sister. MMMM love strawberries too. Yes you are the opposite of us, most of our year is summer while yours is cooler and more snow. Sorry about the dreary weather in June. Let's hope July gives you sunshine and nice cool days.

Hope your 4th of July is going well.

Chris, I was wondering where you were. Sorry about the exercising this year....been there done that myself for periods of time. Nothing much here, any longer it's just the two of us and meats here are not great so just a regular type dinner. Plus today I am not feeling up to snuff either. Woke up with a hurting tummy and just not feeling well at all.

Sorry about the rain on Canada Day Chris. Glad you got out a bit. I see the week before vacay and oh you lucky gal Nova Scotia and to touring Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail.

Chuck's grandma and grandpa (his mom's parents) his mom grew up there and so did his grandma and grandpa.

Wow long time....enjoy....take lots of pics so you can share them LOL

Glad you got accommodations. Yeah you sound like Chuck and I as we traveled the state of Virginia we played it by ear too. Though when we went to Alexandria we always stayed at this same hotel (can't think of the name of it now, but was one of those "high brow ones" .....I can still remember the first time when we walked in after driving from Long Island and the guy behind the desk looked at Chuck with his longer hair then and a headband around his forward with his tank top and cut off jean shorts and he said "we don't have any rooms left sir" and Chuck said to him "oh we have reservations' LOL After we got upstairs and cleaned up and dressed for our dinner out he saw us come down and did a "double take". We waved "hi" and proceeded to walk to the very nice restaurant we always went to when we were there....and no I can't think of it now.

Oh Chris, I am sure with all the walking and site seeing and other stuff to do there you will get in plenty of "fun exercise"

NO can't give up sleeping Chris. Take 10 minutes in the a.m. and work the upper body and 10 minutes in the afternoon for the middle and 10 minutes at night for the lower and see what happens.

Chris wishing you a fun trip.

Well I am off to check on mail and then go take a Pepto or something as stomach is "not" getting any better. Wish me luck.

Hope you all are having a nice Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day to all fellow Americans; Happy belated Canada Day, Chris; and sorry if it seems like America is gloating today, Boss. :D

You have been active even if you aren't doing formal exercise, Chris, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Having said that, I'd just suggest that you start really small, like committing to 4 min. a day of squats, lunges, push-ups, etc. There are a lot of days when that's all I get done, but it's way better than nothing. Have a wonderful vacation!

I'm sure your son appreciates your help with Misa, YAH. :) I am sorry about your depressing weather, and hope you get to see your other son on his birthday. Are you getting some sauna time in on those rainy days?? Best wishes for a successful surgery and quick recovery for your sister.

I agree with you, Bekah, that looks have way too much to do with how people are judged. I remember watching American Idol years ago, and it was sadly obvious. And I don't think there's any reason for you to keep your mouth shut--your opinion is as important as anyone else's. As long as you are not engaging in immature behavior like name-calling or personal attacks, I'd say you should keep speaking up! :)

Can you eat other nut/seed butters, Sue? Like almond or sunflower seed? I've been making the gluten-free sourdough bread every other week or so, and it's so good toasted with pb and honey. Total comfort food. You're right--the humidity is the killer. I've been running our A/C on the dehumidify mode and it's perfectly comfortable even when the temps start pushing 90. I just came upstairs to warm up! :chilly: I'm sorry you aren't feeling well today; sending hugs and healing thoughts.

DH has been off since Fri a.m., but goes back to work tonight, so we ran some errands this morning (I had to return some shorts to Old Navy and we picked up some frisbees for the dog) then stopped at the park for a walk. The rest of the day will probably just be relaxing.

Hope you all are having a restful and/or fun day, too!

America has lived and died by it's decisions since the days of the Pilgrims, so I think the amount of possible "gloating" would realistically be less than some people think it can be :).

nephews are fere they are 4 and 7 and really cute. i can hear them playing with some new toys in another room. the 4 year old is so cute. When i was gone a while he came up to me and hugged me and said i missed you. :) then when i was going to the store he started to put his shoes on and said i'm going too. he also when you tell him something he says, got it. now he just asked if we can play hide and seek again. :) he has a heart issue and might need to have surgery when he is older. they are really so sweet and cute.

i played stairway to heaven for nephews. And I sang it too. :funny: i'm not a good singer. But they listened so intently. I had a captive audience and they even wanted me to play more. :funny:

i will respond later. :)

i went to the fireworks show last night. And it was fun. they had fireworks all over and a band playing, and a huge playground for the kids, and cheese curds and mini donuts etc for sale. But when the star spangled banner played i felt kind of sadness. Because i'm really disappointed with how are country is currently headed.

I thought this was a great article by robert reich.

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/fe ... ca-w490449

which did make me feel better. :)

incidentally i had two groups of people vist this weekend from different states. And one person said, you really are fortunate to live here. And the other person said i love the clean air. where they live it's a lot of smog and it's not california either.

i'm going to start working out again on friday and eating better.

sorry it wasn't written by robert. he just shared it on FB.

Chris did you find a teacher for the pipes? your vacation sounds wonderful and pretty! Once i start working the other job and am sure i will keep it i am going to start up lessons again too. just twice a month though to save on costs.

Sue, do you have to turn the heat on at all? or does your play you live have a central heating?

that's funny about chuck and the hotel. You know in area there area there a lot of motorcyclists that drive along the river through all the towns. and i must say if they are in shape and maybe have a go-tee some i can find very attractive. ha ha

looks do have an influence on how people are judged. Especially if you don't know them like online, mo.

Happy Belated 4th everyone .
I haven't forgotten Shapefit friends just have been lazy and not feeling up to par.

BIL past last week and was brought to Ohio so had that and company here at the house all week. I don't lake saying this but it was a blessing as he had been in nursing home for 5 years unable to speak, feed or dress himself . Knowing no one. He had a wonderful wife who went everyday to take care of those needs for him and his children would go up and see him several times a year . This was Husbands older brother . We got to see his Children and meet his grandchildren whom we hadn't seen for many years and relatives from Michigan and Maryland came down . His wife will be selling their home and moving back to Ohio where she has a couple of sisters living.

Nothing else much. I Have been exercising each day and am on day 93 of 100 day Great Walk challenge. (so glad it is almost over). I have walked at least a mile each of those days and have gone down one pant size but no change in weight . Oh Well we can't have everything.

Yah, I got your lovely note and also one from Diane but have failed to answer either one . So sorry , just haven't felt up to much of anything . A little bored but trying to bring myself out of it and much better today, Thank you.

I am now going back and try to read and get caught up with all until time for hubby to come home . I find now that he is home most of the time I get a lot less done and have less time for myself.

Ok , I went thru all the postings I have missed and kinda jumped around so I am almost up to date. Not going to stay away so long from now on . To hard to catch up.

It rained so hard today and this bunny has been sitting under the tree in our from yard for hours . He was there when I went to the gym at 9 and still there and it is 2 30 . I went outside and normally they jump and run away when I go out but he didn't move . I am worried about him or it but going to stay away .

I failed to mention something that I am very proud of is that nephew who is living in VA and is being sent to Tampa to oversee over a 1000 people (cyber fraud) FBI came to the funeral . He is such a nice and wonderful young man . Well he is getting up there in years almost 50 and will be able to retire in a couple of years . Conley called him the day after he was fired and told him how much he appreciated him and what a joy it was to have him as an employee . I just thought that was super nice for anyone. The family is not moving with him since he is so close to retirement so they will commute back and forth for the time . She is a Teacher in the Va school system and the Kids love it there so I imagine they will stay there after his retirement . I think they live in Lees burgh .
Sister in law who lost her Daughter in January is still very sad which is to be expected and still trying to sell her house and clean out the personal items . She had over 139 pairs of shoes and some with the tags still on them but is slowly getting all done . They say it comes in threes , well I hope for us the three is done . First , Susan Sil daughter, then friends 17 year old granddaughter Hope and last week Brother in Law. Enough is enough I think .

Thanks for listening .

Time to think about Dinner .
and the rain has finally stopped and the Bunny is still out there.
