Hi Sue, fiddleheads are a type of fern. They grow wild along creeks and river banks. The young fern before it unrolls is tender and yummy. :D Not everyone thinks so.
I hope you had a great workout!!

Hey, Sisters,

Hope everyone is doing well. :sunshine:

I was so glad to see son and his GF yesterday. They both looked healthy and happy, despite their party weekend!

Glad your recital went well, Chris, and your sister got to come for it! Have you tried Body Pump? I think I did a YouTube video a few times years ago--it was a great workout. That does sound like a lovely supper you fixed--salmon, fiddleheads and all those nice herbs! Yum! The bike computer sounds cool. :D Hope your foot feels better soon!

Free barre classes sound like a good deal, Bekah! I like barre. I took some classes with a Groupon once, but once that was over, I didn't feel like driving the 25 min to the studio. The Y has one barre class, but it's on Monday morning, when I'm working. I have a couple DVDs but haven't done them for awhile. I should pull them out again. Good luck with your new piano teacher. :)

Sue, I flavored the cheesecake with amaretto and almond and vanilla extracts and then added chopped Bing cherries, and a chocolate drizzle. It came out a little runny but tasted delicious. Next time, I'll cut back on the liquid flavorings and use more cherries. Hope you get a cooler day to do your weeding!

Sweet dreams. everyone~

Hi All,
DH and I went out for a 30 minute walk last evening. Still getting in some exercise!! :D

Hi Mo! I hope you had a good visit with your company. I did try body pump once. friend took me in for a free trial as a birthday present to me one year. It is tough!! I could barely walk for days after. If I ever joined a gym then I would go for that type of class. Oh no now I am hungry for your cheese cake.

I am off to help house clean at Mom's today. Have a great day all! :sunshine:

Just dropping in to say and wishing you all a great Memorial Day also if I don't get on! I see your all exercising and doing great it seems. Wish i could walk more. Thats the best kind of exercise for me. Still cool up here and no lilacs yet. Not really sure they will bloom as we had cold weather the other week. Finally more sun today although sounds like more rain on and off coming again. Sure hope you get a dentist and your pain can go away soon too Sue:( I'm one that doesn't go dentist or Drs. unless I Really Have to:) And our dentist lets us pay whatever we can at a time so don't have to pay it all right away.
I dog sat more this weekend as son and wife went to Mn. to look around. Son's boss and wife took them all around the city etc. and had dinner and invited any other workers there too so they enjoyed it:) Spent their 6th anniversary alone down there and rode around etc. Their kids were with her parents in CF's. DIL came home Mon. by plane so I got home around 6 pm that night. Son drove back last night and is going to be working from home on laptop while their doing all the things to sell their house etc. DIL's last week to work this week also. I loso oked up place he is working at and its like a google place to work where they really want to make their employees happy working;) The West Plaza where their in is only 3 miles from Minneapolis and their a very upgoing company so sounds great and we'll see whats in the future for them. Bekah, I don't go out of the U.P. and really need to see some sites here but with older vehicle and all, don't get around as much. I still need to go up north more as have a sis and DB up there:) I guess not all gparents get to see their gkids as much anyway or more likely seems the DD's parents do;) At least they are closer in miles to them and their always driving all over but don't like having the dog over their house. Plus DIL's 2 sisters are closer also so that helps her a lot and some relatives in Mn. too.
Mo, Bama, Chris and all, keep on doing what your doing and enjoying the Spring? I think we are skipping that here:( Great on seeing your son and gf also Mo!! Had a sauna last night anyway so that always makes me happy:)) take care all and drive safely if you go anywhere:) middle son is down St. Louis now enjoying older sis and the sites:) :coffee: :sunshine:

YAH i hope he enjoys St. Louis Park. I live more in the country. Actually goal is to move. to a town on the river and it's where i go hiking and biking and you can also go boating. It's really pretty. I want to try kayaking this summer too. I'm hoping when brother visits he will go with me.

Good job on the walking chris. Body pump does look like it would be a nice workout.

Mo, your cheesecake sounds really good. How long have you had Mon Bun now? Has it been 2 years? Does he still have issues or has he overcame most of them?

Sue, great job on the workouts. I've always though i would rather live somewhere like CA but lately I'm appreciating MN and the weather and just the activities i can do. I have a friend that lives in Bakersfield, CA and she can't afford to live a lot of places there and has to deal with more crime than she would prefer. You sound like you are in a nice area though.

Hope everyone has a nice memorial weekend! Boss i hope you do too. Heart goes out to the people in Manchester. :sunshine:

Hi, all,

Happy Saturday!

We've had MonBun for 18 mos., Bekah, and he's changed tremendously. He's still not good with most other dogs, but he is nowhere near as timid as he was when he first came. He used to get up and leave the room when DH would enter--now he'll go lie down next to him. (I've always been his safe spot, so he'll often sleep by feet. He only runs from me when he sees the nail clippers or tick puller come out!) He's so funny. He was chasing a squirrel the other day, and was leaping into the air, trying to get the squirrel out of the tree. I got a teeny video clip of his last jump, but wish I'd gotten more. I wonder if I could post it on FB.

So sad about Manchester; I don't know what makes people do things like that.

Good to see you, Bama; glad to see you're doing well.

Glad you got a sauna in, YAH, and got out of your house over the weekend.

Sue, do you know anyone with braces? DD used to get wax from her orthodontist to cover any loose or pokey wires--I wonder if that would stick to your tooth to protect your tongue until you can get to a dentist? Sending hugs on your sore mouth.

Hi All,
Saturday was a good exercise day for me. I got to run/walk with DH as we did a charity walk for the brain tumour foundation. We raised a few funds. :D Yesterday I got to planting veggies in pots. oldest son helped me with the peas and carrots. I kicked both boys outside for a while and told them no screens. I also got out for a 30 minute walk today at lunch! :thumb:

Yay YAH, glad you got the sauna working! :D Enjoy!

Have a great day all!

Hope all had a great Memorial Day remembering the ones who died for us:( I dog sat again this weekend since son and family had a late xmas gift to go to as a surprise from her parents:) They ended up at Milwaukee zoo anyway and stayed at hotel by there with a pool too. So I stayed Fri. and Sat. night with Henry the choc. lab. Didn't get anywhere today so I kind of wish I had the sauna going as its rainy on and off anyway:( Can't do anything outside. We had thunder storms yesterday also. Son and DIL came back without the kids so I guess they will be busy with going through their stuff to see what they can also get rid of:) Son has to work from home a bit now for the MN. company but DIL is done with her work and kids are done with daycare. I guess the company name is Horizontal Integration where son is going to work. I googled it and sure looks like it loves its employees:) Son said they've been going for more years but starting the last 2 yrs. they got rid of negative people and started with great way to work people and the way they built it up in their place now and more to add on. Sure looks great anyway:)
Other son came back from going St. Louis, Missouri to sis's to sight see also and got to a lot of places with her and by himself:) He also got to the St. Louis zoo so both sons were lucky at that and I'm the one who would love to go to a big zoo:) I'd like to spend the whole day at one though.
I hope your mouth is better Sue? Be nice to cover that tooth cause I know if I have a sharp point in mouth, tongue will just keep touching it:(
sis sent a book called the Coconut Ketogenic Diet. Anyone hear of it? I guess its suppose to supercharge your metabolism, revitalize thyroid function, and lose excess weight. I guess I will have to try to read it but not sure if certain foods are costly or not. Sis can afford things but I can't:( Its by Dr. Bruce Fife anyway.
Glad Money is doing great Mo! I think Henry needs some very good training yet as he is big and very strong and not too well behaved and has to have the collar on to Try to tame him down. He settles down in the house but if someone comes to the door, as older son came over, I couldn't get a handle on him at all!! son at least just pushed him off anyway but wow! He's got a big mouth:)
Becka, yep, son's place is very close to Minneapolis for sure! Kind of wish they were not as close to such a big city. But I guess they will try this and see how it goes and more money to save hopefully for something else maybe in the future. He'd like to work from home eventually, from anywhere:)
Chris it sounds like your getting some good walks etc. in:) Keep up the good work.! And Bama, sorry you can't get on then? Hoping you can read anyway for now and keep trying. Dressing up your goose there? Hope you all have some good summer fun too now and better weather maybe. No lilacs here yet:( take care and be safe! :coffee:

Afternoon ladies,

Quiet day here for us....almost lunch time and wanted to get caught up on posts....

Thanks on the mouth Molasses. Finally today it's doing a bit better but still hurts. Have to wait till after the holiday.

I see your fur baby needs your attention and hope you had a good day.

YAH, walking is good. I see still cool and sorry no lilacs. Glad Mr. Sun decided to come out. You are lucky on the dentist. I know that University has but it's downtown and warrants a trip with Handyride plus they are usually crowded too. So will see.

I see you got to spend time with Henry while the kids were away checking things out. Hard to believe it's been 6 years already...where did the time go. Wow sounds like a nice place he will be working at. I am sorry you won't get to see your grandkids much.

Bama I see you were busy Friday cooking stuff for the holiday weekend.

Bekah, sure hope your goal to move comes about for you sooner than later. Sounds like a fun summer. Hope your brother will go with you.

Yeah very expensive in so many areas here in California unfortunately. Yikes Bakersfield....very very HOT there....

Me too, what a very sad thing in Manchester.....

Molasses, hard to believe it's been a year and a half already Molasses. MonBun has come a long way. Sorry he is still not good with most other dogs, sorry about him running when he sees the nail clipper....Buddy loved it as he knew he would get treats when we finished. He would actually roll over to the other side too. Did the same when I cleaned his ears weekly and brushed him too. Your mail program should have an option to send a video, Molasses.

No I agree Molasses, I don't understand what makes someone do that. So much today is so very very sad.

Nope don't know anyone with braces. However thanks for the tip.

Yeah Bekah still sore....doing a bit better today but still have sores on tongue when it hitting the tooth. Such is life.

Chris, I see Saturday was a great exercise day with the run/walk with DH for the charity. Glad you raised some funds too. MMMM I see you got your planting of your veggies done....love it that oldest son helped. As you know, me and dad did it every year...with tomatoes, scallions and lots of other good stuff!

YAH, you too hope your Memorial Day is a good one. Hope Henry was a good boy this weekend. Did you ever find his toy to put his treats in?

Wow nice late Xmas gift for the kids. I see kids are still at DIL's parents. Yeah probably best as they will have a lot of packing to do. Too bad we didn't live closer since as you know we moved enough during the years we have had a LOT of practice (moving here was our 11th move LOL).

Glad it's such a good company. Glad your other son got to see Missouri and your sister too. Yup tongue is doing the same darn thing.

Oh I loved Coconut for years but now it doesn’t agree with me anymore.

Hope the kids can find a good trainer for Henry....he needs one on one from what you have said about him.

Sorry no lilacs there yet YAH.

Well off to lunch.....quiet day here....

Sue
