Thanks guys! Race results showed that i was in the top ten in age group ages 40-49. I finished 9th out of 40 women.

Today's workout:
4 timed repeats of:
400 meter treadmill run
20 crunches
20 pushups (wide stance, boy style)
20 bottom squats
(less than 1 minute rest between repeats)
1st round: 3:47
2nd round: 3:35
3rd round 3:23
4th round 3:20
First time to try this. Really liked it. Wanted to do intervals but wanted a bit extra challenge to them. I think I got that and more! Woo!

Todays workout:
3.5 mile hill run with 2 running friends.
It really helps to run with others. Keeps me motivated and pushes me to run harder. It was cold tonight! Low 30's with a wind blowing - I had to wear gloves, hat, 2 shirts and calf socks! For around these parts, that's cold!!!

5 mile lunchtime run. Mid 40's temp. Felt nice after I got going.

Peaceful park and rural road run.

Ran solo today.
Didn't really want to do it, had to really talk myself into it. But I knew I would not have another opportunity as good to run today. Now I'm glad I did it.
Not running tomorrow because of race on Saturday. Tonight is son's Christmas band concert at school, so no time to workout or run. Sometimes we just gots to do what we gots to do! Even if it means running 5 miles at lunch instead of sitting at desk surfing the net and reading Shapefit posts (like i usually do)

Woo Hoo! Won 3rd place in age group today! It was a tough run with road and trail mixed, lots of hills. I had to race the last 100 yds against a girl who was in age group - she tried to pass me, but I just kept getting faster (thank you HIIT sprint intervals
) the last 30 yards I just poured it on and she could not keep up - YES!!! She beat me last week in the other race - but not today!!

3rd place is awesome Lynne Congrats! Nice that you beat the girl this time too! Bet that felt great.

Thanks Becky! Yes, fighting for that 3rd place medal and winning was probably the best feeling i've had in a while.

Rest day today. Left foot is a little sore, probably from the changes in terrain yesterday.
Monday starts back to 1/2 marathon training!
Going to add back in one day a week of strength training - I miss free weights.
and one day of plyo, bodyweight/cardio workouts.
