It's about 12 hours of driving. We get up at about 4 EST, leave the house at about 5 EST and get into the city around 3 or 4 pm CST.

How does it feel to go back to school after a long break from it? I remember I used to hate it... Now, I would LOVE to go back :P

I'm so happy to be back. I love it here. However, I managed to embarrass myself really badly today. Haha.

Doesn't look like enough calories, or good, solid foods.

Hey Jena,
I was looking for your journal and I found it! Just wanted to say hi. When are you going back to school? I started back this morning at 8AM - it was not a pretty sight :P

Brent :: On anything other than the cereal and milk, I don't have them anymore, so I don't know the stats for them at this time. I'd be more detailed, but as of late I've been struggling to even get myself to eat.... Perfect example, yesterday I had a bowl of cereal when I got up and then I had a grilled chicken breast at about 7 that night and that was it...

Fygle :: Yeah, I know, I've been eating terribly since I got back to school. :( No excuses for it either. Also, could you define "solid food", please?

Athene :: I moved back into school on the 1st and classes started the 3rd. I love being here at DePaul, but it sucks for diet.

I've been having a lot of emotional turmoil lately (stuff that is not suitable for public eye) and I have been too busy with school and getting things for classes set up and done to take time out for myself. Oh, and to make life OH so much easier, I'm getting sick. :( I feel like it's strep. I hope it isn't though.

That’s why you have to try your best to take care of yourself.
If you stress too much it will only hurt your health and will make you a sickie. (A word I just made up :P )

You use sickie too!? I use that word all the time. I'm honestly going to blame roommate being sick first. :P

It can be tough to remember to eat enough and well enough, to get enough sleep, and to get all of your work done in school, I know, but you have to try your best to take care of yourself like everyone is saying! The easiest thing is really to eat whole foods I think, and just keep it really simple. I am tempted by take-aways, crazy coffees and stuff all the time, so I hear it. The good thing about eating whole foods for me is that I feel better right away, because blood sugar is levelled - no (or, ahem, LESS) crazy mood swings, highs or lows. It's easier to study, regulate your sleep, and monitor your moods, especially if you're going through a lot right now. Take care buddy : )

Athene :: Whole foods? I've never heard that term used before. Also, sleep pattern is great, except for the past couple days because of roommate. :( Oh well.

Whole foods are natural foods that have not been processed to taste better or to have a longer shelf life - it's kind of like foods that are the one ingredient of which they are made - a glass of milk, an apple, a carrot, a cup of cottage cheese, a chicken breast, 8 almonds, etc. these are all whole foods. Apparently cutting out anything processed, pre-made, or packaged can make a huge difference to the way you feel and to the way your body works. Check out the Eating Clean website or magazine if you're interested, I found it really helpful when I picked up a book of Tosca Reno's, she's kind of the queen of the "Eat Clean" movement. There's also a book I have been meaning to pick up by Michael Pollan called 'In Defense of Food', which I think may be useful. Check out the links if you like:
