Haha true enough, is motivational, to say the least, well I'll do one of space cadet roams through youtube & see what prone plank variations I stumble upon, always go in looking for one thing & find 10 other things completely unrelated

Hmm no, we r not kidding, though I started out 6 weeks back at 30 secs, 45 & now 1min, soooooo since one whole min of laying there staring at whatever is so boring..time to spice it up somehow, like I did with the side plank, added a row to it ;)..lynn is right persistence is the key !! ( even if ur arms shake ! )

Try this one Bonnie:
(excerpt from Sept. 3rd workout)
Okay, here's a new one I just made up-but it was awesome!!:
1x15 reps - front plank w/right arm DB kickback (5lb)
1x15 reps - front plank w/left arm DB kickback (5lb)

Another one I have done a few times is front planks w/arm and opposite leg extensions:
Hold right arm/left leg out straight for 30 sec. then switch left arm/right leg, count 30 secs.

Like you say .... it breaks up the boredom of staring at the floor, or in case - the carpet fibers...thinking "Man, I need to vacuum!!" :D

Today's workout:

HIIT - treadmill
4 cycles
2minutes @ 5.0 mph / 1minute @ 8.0 mph
15 minutes steady state

hamstrings and glutes sore......sciatic nerve flaring up...bulgarian squats kicked butt yesterday, but I refuse to let them get the upper hand - they must be conquered! :D

You can see in some respects looking at the photos, how over the last few months or so, you have been tightening up a bit in terms of your body shape.

Also, looks like somebodies had a relaxing "care and attention" session. You look really glowing and radient, (the new hair is a superb compliment to your face), and you look really feminine, though I'm a guy, so I'm not speaking as an authority on the female image, for obvious reasons, so feel free to ignore me if I'm talking crap :P.

You do though have such a warm, caring personality and that's shining through to the outside. You have one of those faces that says so much about the person inside.

Can't believe you're as mature as you say you are, because you could easily pass off as 5 years younger, but then that's the benefits of good living.

I can see how things are paying off for you, which is good to see and you can be very proud of yourself, so keep up the hard work and WELL DONE. You are putting in the effort, and the rewards are becoming clearer to see. month by month.

I'm happy for you, and I hope you continue to improve, and have plenty more things to smile about.

You are a great advertisement for the maturing Lady, and you DO look "youthfully mature".

Great job :).

Ok so far I'm doing the top planks...though the second ones look good also...do notice they DONT use round DB, hence no rolling..

Thank you Boss Man! 8) I've been working really hard at it, everything seems to take so much more effort now than it did a few years ago.

Yes, I did enjoy a "care and attention" time today....got a hair cut & style. Was feeling refreshed and realized it had been a month since last "update" pics, so I just snapped a few and added them to profile (and yes, I do own more than one workout top! I just use the same one for pics to show any progress made :D )

Boss Man is right on Lynne!

I agree totally with you that having a place like this with friends is a great motivator, love to see what you and others are doing, and then trying to add to our own programs - planks, planks and planks for me! The support here is wonderful and I think we will continue to post like "demons"! :)

I still think we need to plan a get away next year where we can all meet!

Yeah Lu, I read your journal earlier and from that I went to You Tube and searched for Squat exercises (wanted to see what a Sumo Squat is :) ) spent 30 minutes pouring over all different squats and squat jumps, now I have some new things for workout :D
Hopefully (if things work out) I will be able to renew gym membership and can start working with free weights. I have learned so much about weight lifting since joining here, whole gym experience will now be completely different and improved. I don't think I will ever be a great deadlifter (the BB scares me to death!) but I hope to increase DB's weights (all I have at home are two 5lb DB's  )
I could totally see us all getting together....imagine actually getting to meet Sean Connery!! Ha! ....but it would be great to see everyone all lifesize and breathing & such, instead of just a little avatar! :D
